Let us all take a minute to appreciate Durfee's efforts on arranging all the books in series for the video to give us a sense of how these books look on the shelf. This arrangement also gives an idea how to buy books as a collector!!

I love this series! I am just getting ready to start _Lamentation_ and am really looking forward to it. Sansom does historical detail so well.
Too bad they scrapped the BBC series, that would have been great.

Shardlake is set in the Renaissance period.
Shardlake is a great series, plus C J Sansom is a real life lawyer and has degrees in medieval history. It makes the stories so realistic.

Actually just read this a couple of weeks ago. Liked it so much I picked up the rest of the series. Sansom creates an atmospheric sense of Tudor age life. Durfee is right on with this review.

Are you watching me through my webcam? I just started this last night. That HC you have looks great, I have the trade paperback and it has a decent cover (A lone hooded monk) and thankfully it has the map and list of suspects(?!). If I like this I will probably pick the rest up.... Damn you Durfee, I'm running out of space for all these books! Looks like at least one of the kids are going to have to go...

Sansom is great!! Thank you for all your reviews. You definitely help my bibliomania. Have you tried Peter Tremayne? They are set in the 8th century, I think. Not as violent as Sansom, but pretty good.

Brian could you please do some more Louis L’Amour book reviews? I was holding back and though westerns were “corn ball city” or “cheesy boring BS.” You changed that! I decided to pick up “The Iron Marshall” and WOW! Now I’m hooked. My wife is getting tired of me tracking desert sand through the house after reading his books. I open up the door to my reading room and tumble weeds blow out! It’s like you get dropped right into the desert! His books are like potato chips, you can have just one! You could write a song about it, “Might as well face it you’re addicted to L’Amour!”
