This is just all so silly. I myself am 47 years old so obviously i'm no longer desirable to some, but what in the world is wrong with the Cheesecake factory? My husband passed two years ago from covid but our first date was at Barnes & Nobles. No lashes, braids, phones, influencers, just coffee and books. My heart goes out to anyone who has to date in this day and age.

@Rashaadthegr8 Thanks; where a person decides to take someone on a date could be subjective. Whether or not I call it a date should be decided by the parties involved. Also my husband's intentions regarding me were his intentions, but we remained married for 25 years. I guess where my lack of knowledge comes in is the complexity of dating ( or whatever label you would choose to give) nowadays. Things just seem so unnecessarily difficult.

1. An hour late, date is off unless there is a viable excuse! And, by viable excuse, I mean viable by my standards, not by your standards.
2 the moment she said she wasn’t getting out the car because of the place I picked, there would be no conversation. If I felt nice, I would have driven her back in silence, or if she really got down with her tone like she did in this clip, she would have had to call an Uber! Either way, one of those option would happen.
3. Anton is right. Before meeting my now wife of 24 years, I NEVER ONCE payed for a first date. My philosophy was ALWAYS the same no matter who the woman was. Cheese cake factory is not cheap. It’s not prohibitively expensive either but it’s a good mid tier place with a lot of options of food for a first date. After finding out what she prefers then you can narrow it down and take her to a place where they specialize in that type of food.

Maybe she was a nurse, and had to take care of a patient at the end of her shift, who knows what. Work is important, and hat could be forgiven. At that point, she should have apologized profusely for being late, explained why it happened, thanked him for staying, shown some appreciation for that, which she did not do (even if the work thing was a lie/excuse).

In my 20s (when I didn't know any better) I was in a relationship with a woman I wanted to marry, but throughout the relationship she disrespected me by not valuing my time. The final straw came when we had plans to go to a professional dinner function. I had worked all day and when I got off work, went home, showered, changed into my suit and drove to the next county to pick her up. When I arrived she was not ready. She was unemployed at the time and home all day. with plenty of time to be ready when I arrived. Needless to say we would be late for the dinner function. So I waited for her for two hours as I sat in her living room with my car double parked in the street. When dressed, she topped off her attire by putting on a tiara. Her mom was taking pictures of her outside the house for all the neighbors to see as if we were going to the prom. When we walked into the dinner, people laughed and she immediately took off the tiara, which embarrassed the hell out of me. I was angry the entire night and in fact so angry we left the affair early. She wanted to come back to my house, but I took her home. I broke up with her days later. Women, the worst thing you can do is disrespect and not value your man.

The fact that she doesn't know what it means to be "courted" is a sign that she's for the streets.
To be "courted" is to enter into a formal arrangement (usually agreed upon by the men/parents in which marriage is the goal) between the 2 parties who understand the goals of the relationship and expectations of each party leading up to a formal engagement. If either party steps out of bounds then the elders in the family step in and decisions are made to either move on or not.

I had a somewhat similar situation a few years ago. A woman (black woman) had me waiting in my car for 20+ minutes when I came to pick her up.
