@@gbbarn I actually did some research on this Chant and I came to find out that it did start out in Peru, Club Universitario de Deportes in 1991 to be exact. After that it did branched out throughout South America: U de Chile, San Lorenzo, River Plata have historically kept up in their stadiums. Being offsides in football means that the opponent is closer to the goal than the second-to-last defender.
So the player wasn’t offside since he wasn’t in any way, affecting the game nor the direction of the ball.

Players have to take some blame too. I’m 100% against GGG being the coach but the players also have a very weak mentality and no killer instinct.

Uruguay usually kick out the host. Did that a couple of times. I remember in 2022 with Qatar and 2011 Copa America against Argentina in semis. But I know for a fact that there were more.

Question: What benefit does it give the tournament and the organizers to help Uruguay get through? If it's monetary gain it would make much more sense if the US got through because of the money this would generate. Uruguay has 3.4 million people...not a lot of merchandise to sell there.

I’m not saying the US is a bad choice at all, but it’s more exciting to think about matches between all-time favorites like Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay compared to other games. Also, we can’t forget that football is like a religion in most South American countries 🤔, so... I guess that's it.

The goal was offside. It's about fairness and preserving the integrity of the game.
@@JetteroHeller83 No it was a good goal . The Uruguayan player who scores is in line with the last US player. The one who is in an offside position is not involved in the play. Wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

The Offside thing was not a bribe from Uruguay as many angry people will say, Uruguay was already first in the standings and did not risk anything by losing, it is the fault of bad refereeing
Agree. Despite the officiating be so poor, the USA still did nothing to make chances for themselves to score. It would’ve been 0-0 at best
@@WillSaun Usa use a defensive strategy with a Uruguay that was furious after beating Bolivia 4-0, 5-0 Bolivia and Panama 3-1, it is clear that they wanted to tie 0-0 from the first minute, but once again they received the goal The entire strategy collapsed, and it was impossible for them to go from defense to attack, I think the biggest mistake was not having an emergency strategy.

OMG, the referees in this tournament… No words! Every single one of them has had at least one polemic decision.
