This is GREAT! I was so confused by the instructions that came with the machine, and from a video I saw last year, that I never cleaned it and then stopped using it altogether. I finally decided eff it, I'm going to figure this out. Then I saw your video. This was so clear, so well done, that I was able to do this easily, though the base was REALLY gross and needed lots of work. Since I had never cleaned anything, I ordered new demineralization filters. I rinsed the old ones and put them back in for now. Though I was surprised at the end that you use tap water to refill the reservoirs. I have only used distilled water. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video! I've been procrastinating cleaning my humidifier for so long (mainly b.c I didn't know how to) lol but you made it look so easy! Thank you explaining it step by step ! So much easier than reading all those instructions :)
Excellent simple demonstration. Thank you. I was so curious as to how to clean it when he light came on, and now I know. You were so factual and not dramatic so easy to follow
I saw a little crud on the transducer and reached in with a finger nail to scrape it off. Ended up scraping off a bit of the top layer, I guess, of the transducer ring. Is it still safe to run like that?
Awesome video! I don’t recall seeing anything about cleaning the nozzle where the mist comes out. Definitely needed it. I just used the same Q tip method and some warm water.
Exactly! I have an older model with a clear tube and it is easy to see that mold and dirt collects in the column. Can't get it out and can't get into it. I have bought long q-tips, tiny brushes and nothing much works completely. Why can't they build these so we can detach and clean the tube. Very frusrating!
@@addismultitasking3504 there should be a way to clean it. Noone wants dirt or bacteria build up in the area that outputs the mist. I guess I can buy a pipe cleaner and see if that works...
i agree. i want to be able to clean inside that tube as well. can i unscrew the screws on the backside of the panel? our water is very hard so i use the cartridges and i still get that pink build up...
I change my water byt the "co" still display. I will not see any mist coming out unless I gave it on "co". But no mist comes out at any other settings like 35%, 45% or 55%? What is "co" mean? Please help.
I somehow never even saw or used the cartridges... just ordered some replacements. The water I was using was unfiltered and probably hard as well. Do you think this would've had a significant impact on the humidifier effectiveness?
Anyone have an explanation or solution to the humidifier leaking from the bottom? I can't see a leak but the towel under mine has been wet the last two times I filled my humidifier. Never had the issue before now.
Well this is great but over time there is a lot more cleaning that needs to happen. The transducer area and behind it gets absolutely filthy and you have to disassemble the long column that flows up. Please do this because you would not believe how bad that condition can be. You can get legionnaires if any humidifier is not properly cleaned.
Not yet but I've had several people ask about the pink slime in there I'm going to figure out a way this weekend you may have to unscrew the back to clean that spout so I should have a video maybe by Sunday
@@addismultitasking3504 A video would be great! I took out a few screws but that still didn’t let me into the spout area. It seemed to loosen the faceplate, though. I didn’t want to force anything and break something!
I bought mine at Costco and not this model apparently. :( the CLEAN came up after about 15 hours of use. was using distilled water. Didn;t clean right away ran another 15-20 hours. didn;t use for about a month now it will not work. :(
why does my new humidifier have a wet/musty smell? I let it dry out completely for 24 hours , still the odor is there while using the humidifier. Also bought it from Costco
@@addismultitasking3504 thank you for replying. It is a brand new humidifier, I will try cleaning it using your cleaning video and use distilled water and see if it helps. Thank you!
To save a little money you can probably do 50% distilled 50% tap... Make sure that little oil scented fabric disc is not dirty or simply just remove it it could have something on it causing the smell
That is because it is a piece of trash. Even after following the instruction is still thinks it isn't "clean". I had mine for 13 months and followed the cleaning instructions and cleaned it regularly and used demineralizing carts as well as distilled water and the ultrasonic membrane still got covered with minerals that were impossible to get off. after spending over 30 minutes trying to get the thing to stop turning off it went it the garbage in pieces.

You can add more demineralization carts if you want. Throw 4 or 5 of them in there that will help
Thank you for doing this vid! I purchased and then read the reviews on cleaning and was horrified. This vid reduced my anxiety! Good job!
Thanks for watching have a good New year

Thank you, just cleaned it. Super helpful. I was about to buy a descaler but I have large costco vinegars at home, so this made it quick and easy!
awesome
How to clean the mist tube? I can see mold in the tube but cannot open just the tube.
clean the pink slime mist tube video ready tonight
Is there a video up for the tube?
What about the top piece? Mine builds up a pink substance. I assume that same stuff is in the pipe that leads up to it.
Hmmm Pink??? Are you using filtered or distilled water?
Same - I’m using tap water. Pink film buildup inside the tube that goes from transducer to where the steam/air flows out.
Ohh... pink slime is a mold, please contact the manufacturer!!
mine has pink in it as well. ☹️
I posted a video on how to clean that mist tube
I cleaned mine and works great now.
Good to hear, have a great rest of the day

How do you clean the pipe? It doesn't seem cleanable which seems like a bad design flaw. I just bought this from Costco.
there's nothing in the instructions about cleaning that pipe so I don't think there's a need to but I'll look into it later
The old one we had was the same way so I think that design is used by a lot of them

@@addismultitasking3504 There's definitely a need. It builds up with mildew just like any other of the pieces that stay wet and mostly sealed.

How do you clean the column(cylindrical) part int he center that seems to dirty ?
So you can use tap water to clean? But distilled water to run it? Using distilled but then cleaning with tap water doesn’t negate it?
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the assist.
your welcome

How frequently do i need to replace/Change the blue cartridges if i am using the humidifier everyday for 7 hours at night ?

Sure thing!

The top where the steam comes out also gets moldy and needs to be cleaned. Was not sure if there was instructions for that.
yes I have a video for that as well

My humidifier is not working, no vapor come out, what should I do?
Same kind, I bought from Costco.
For some reason my humidifier won’t turn off and The buttons don’t work can you explain why? It’s still spraying mist
Does anyone have a pdf of the manual for this one? Searched high and low online. Can't find it.
What about all the gunk in the water vapor tube exhaust?

I just started to use mine and wonder if it is normal that one tank is still full and another one is almost empty after using for 2 nights. Thanks
thats so it will stay running while you fill the empty one
Where do you get new demineralization cartridges?
amazon
Thank you amigo
Mine won't turn on. Anybody else have this issue?
i have one and i wander is this type of humuidifier consumes first one tank and then the other????
Its so it will keep running and you can refill the other tank
Thanks! This was helpful!

How do you clean the spout from which the steam comes out?
see my video how to clean the mist tube
You used tap water to refill, do you think it's not necessary to use distilled?
I have a double filter under my sink so its highly filtered. It is best to use distilled

Hello, why I’m not getting warm mist? Please help.
Its not warm like you think, it will be about body temp so will not feel warm to your hand. also takes about 30 mins
Would be nice if you showed how to clean the inner flute channel where you can't reach.
I did a separate video on that

How do you get the cartridge to sink to the bottom ? Mine just floats at the top.
Make sure it's not wrapped in plastic it should float just for a little while until it soaks up water and then sink
@@addismultitasking3504 Thanks I had to go buy a new cartridge the cartridge that came with the unit was defective
Will cleaning the base with a teaspoon of bleach in a gallon of water instead of the vinegar solution damage the transducer?
