Thanks! Sibelius on its own (at least Sibelius 7) isn't great for drumline, but with Virtual Drumline 2.5 and Kontakt the playback is about the same as what you hear in the video and is fantastic.
Dang, I am seriously happy that I found this. This is some amazing work and it's awesome to listen to. One suggestion, I would add a reverb to VDL and make it blend into the music a bit better because it seems like the battery is sitting on top of the track instead of blending with it. Other than that small thing I would say this is extremely impressive and is very well put together.
Thank you for the kind words! I agree that the battery does tend to "sit on top" of the track for most things I write like this, and I appreciate the suggestion. I'll definitely look into it for my next project!
It's funny, I did a mashup of this with a project trio chart this past fall and am looking to use it as a whole movement for this upcoming 2020 fall season. A lot of what you're written at 69 (nice) is what I had heard in my head! Good stuff man! Hope you're still writing.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad someone else also has written to this track -- it's always interesting to see how different writers/arrangers interpret the same track. I have some stuff I need to mix and upload, but it's been a LONG time.
Hey man great video! I’m trying to post my own arrangement of El Dorado and I was wondering if you could tell me what video software you used to make this?
It's pretty expensive unless you can get the student edition which I think is like $300 some, and VDL 2.5 is like $150 or $200. I had to save up for a while to buy them, but they're definitely worth it if you write music a lot and want to get some high quality recordings.
Does anyone know what that note is supposed to be on the snare part at measure 22? I've never seen that note head before and I don't know what it means.
Hi Olivia, assuming the mean the note with a squiggly line over it, that's the notation I use for a crush. If you listen in measure 12 you can hear it more clearly in the snare.
FINALLY, someone who shares my love for quarter note triplets!
+Jeremy Nash Ha, they're awesome!
I don't have words to express how I feel right now.. just found it and I have been listening to it non-stop.. wonderful.. thank you 🙏🌻💜🇲🇺
Sean, i still comeback after years to listen to this! It was a pleasure to have known you!
I love your style of writing man.
Also, does sibelius have good playback sound?
Thanks! Sibelius on its own (at least Sibelius 7) isn't great for drumline, but with Virtual Drumline 2.5 and Kontakt the playback is about the same as what you hear in the video and is fantastic.
So what is the cost for both, non-student?
This man writes for shows lol, he's got that vibe to his writing

You're welcome. Also, those triplets in there make my heart melt. I'm glad someone else uses them in their writing.
That's epic man!

Thanks! I used good ol' iMovie to make this and synced up images of the PDF score to the music.
PercussionGeek1 alright, thanks man really appreciate it!
What program do you use?
Sibelius 7 as the notation software with Virtual Drumline 2.5 used for the sounds.
How much is it? PercussionGeek1
