I’m a Chinese immigrant and have been living in Saskatchewan since 2000. I’m glad you are enjoying the winter by all means. I started to do cross country skiing last year to enjoy our winter more.
Hello Julie! Thanks for sharing! That seems exciting!!
Why ?
@@pankajjoshi2032 I believe you enjoy winter more if you can do at least one outdoor winter activities and cross country skiing is one of those activities.
You sound more like a Filipino. You've a Filpino accent.
I love those sharp blue days in winter when there's no pollution and air is so clean it burns the inside of your nose!
Cool! Cheers! 🥰👌

I lived and worked in Regina for six years in the 70s. Then I was transferred to Winnipeg. Regina winters were cold, but the coldest winters to me were in Winnipeg! I came from Schumache, Ontario to Saskatchewan several years ago. No problem dude.

Hi..i’ve been waiting for a new video!yehey!tagal din po bago nkpgupload.very informative👍if u are going to choose between living in regina or calgary where would you choose to live?if u are going to base po sa dami ng opportunities, safety & cost of living.
Hello Sheila! thanks for waiting for my new video! Yup, such as busy dad! haha. I have considered living in other cities as well so we travel a lot in Canada. But every time that we I arrive back home in Regina, I feel really comfortable with the ambience, I feel home. Medyo hassle na sa akin ang metropolitan city kasi I had been in Manila for 12 years and it's really causing me stress sa traffic especially. Sa Calgary, same ang feeling kapag nasa residential, laid back and tahimik din but when it comes to transporation, it's the same feeling when I am in Manila. may rush hour traffic din sila na nag lalast ng 2-3 hours. While in Regina, it only last for 15-30mins sa rush hour and maluwag na ulit. I like the idea of going to a place really fast like you can get there in your destination for about 10-15mins. When it comes to cost, mas mahal sa Calgary, though they said they have no provincial sales tax there, nababawi sa ibang costs like mas mahal ang insurance, bahay and car registration. Kaya yun Shiela, I still prefer living in Regina. My kids can just study for post secondary beyond Regina on their own when they grow up. For job opportunities, probably in it's better in Calgary since they more population there, so more business services are needed.
@@WalkingJ thank u po sa info na shinare niyo.very helpful po samin na di po masyado mkpgdecide or ngddalawang isip po kng saan po sa dalawang cities ang ppiliin.thank u po.godbless.stay safe
Hello Jay 👋🏼 I am planning to go study in Regina next year on Sep2024. Any advice on how i should prepare or any concerns about the city? like part time job ? childcare ?
Thank you for this video! I live in Victoria BC and I'm looking to move to Saskatoon because it is too expensive here for my family. I've never experienced anything colder than -15C, so of course I'm worried about how I will adapt to the harsh winters. Especially since they are so long and I am a very new driver! I keep reminding myself that there are millions of people who live in and grew up in Saskatchewan, so I will learn to accept the cold. I hate the rain, so at least I won't have to deal with it so much! 😅
Thanks for your beautiful comment Sarah and for sharing your future plan! I see. Yeah, cost of living here would be very much cheaper compare to Victoria. You can have a big house here while it's just a small apartment in BC. You will survive as long as you drive, it will be hard if you take the bus cause you will have to wait for a long time outside. But you know what, imagine us coming from Philippines, from a default 35C all seasons, and we survive it! Haha! So yeah, that is true, there are million people living here enjoying the big space of house but of course not enjoying the long winter as well. haha. I will see you around in SK!
I don’t recommend! It’s very cold and impossible to work and reach your home safely because of the snows
It's all about attitude dude. You're Canadian, so you don't need to go through months/years of cultural adjustment and learning a new language. The only advice I can give you is to move in the Spring so you have a few months to acclimatize.

@@WalkingJ Yeah, wearing proper warm clothes definitely helps. I'm glad you and your family have been able to make a good life for yourselves here in Canada. I know plenty of people who have moved here from the Philippines, all very nice people.
Well dude, there's three kinds of Canadians when it comes to winter: northern, rural and urban. The northern and rural Canadians have always viewed the urban types as wimps when it comes to winter. I've lived in the NWT, Yukon and rural Prairies most of my life, so you know where I'm coming from.
Hello there. Nice to see a glimpse of Saskatchewan. Just wanna ask some questions about there.
Hello Paul! Sure go ahead.
@@WalkingJ I would like to ask if there are lots of jobs there for geomatics? Still thinking if we’ll do the Student Pathway or Express Entry there.
@@cirezap hello Paul, for the skilled jobs, they would prefer that ones who graduated in the local area, doesn't matter if he is international student or local student, so student entry to Canada is better if you can.
Hey! love your videos.
I'll be coming there soon and would love to know how you plan for the winter.
The clothing, how people commute, access places etc.
Thank you Sid! Everything will be the same for winter, it's like regular days in Canada so you can still access any places. It's not gonna come like instant, it will come like the days ang getting colder and colder everyday so you have a lot of time to prepare.
ooh I hate that kind of winter ❄️🥶..
Haha! Yup! Just need to learn how to live with it as warmer places are expensive. Thanks for watching Joo!

I would argue the 'we don't get a lot of snow in Saskatchewan' line.....
Lived in Regina all my life, and many times a winter I am out shoveling 4ft snow drifts across my driveway and the city sidewalk. Had to buy a snowblower this year because the amount of snow I had to shovel last winter was causing me back problems.
I see. Yes, you are correct, last year was like you are going to be burnout with Saskatchewan's winter. It's already May and there were no more space to put the snow anymore.
@@WalkingJ Great video by the way.
We have had a few very mild winters here in the past. In the 90's I remember flying home from school in Ontario, at Christmas in late December, and there was no snow on the ground when my plane landed. I was shocked 😅

Shout out Beejhay! Haha. Sure! Next time!

please tell me do you feel safe living in Regina, considering its high crime rate?
Hello Afshin, yes, I still feel safe. Before we landed, I never knew that Regina is one of the Canada's high crime rate until someone told me about it. I asked one retired police officer about this on what are the majority crimes here in the city, they said, break and enter which is more happening in the indigenous community. These are in the central and downtown residentials.

Hai, New subscriber here😍I am coming to Moosejaw for this Winter'22 for my Jan intake. Would like to know more about what kind of dresses should I carry, since I'm from India. Also would like to know about your experience over there. Waiting to see more videos🥰
Hello Sonya, thanks for subscribing! For your kind of dresses, you can still bring your summer clothes for non-winter seasons, and also wear it during the winter. Under the heavy coat and jacket, you will still wear the summer clothes anyway. For your winter jackets, it is better to buy winter clothes here since they built for Canadian winter. If it is too expensive to buy brand new, there are also some used winter clothing shops here as well. Moose Jaw is just 45 mins away from Regina through the highway.
but yes, since you are going to arrive here by winter, you must have ready winter clothes already for your first days. Inside home and business establishments, it is warm so you are going to wear it when you go outside only.
I live in Moose Jaw and I agree. Buy winter clothing in Canada.@@WalkingJ
-30C is no problem for a Saskatchewan letter carrier! 🤪
Hahaha! Yup!
Amazing vlog. Which camera do you use for these videos?
Thank you Hum! I use IPhone 12 non pro and a gimbal.
Houses look like they are close together and your townhouse looks like there is another in back, two to the depth.
That's right. This type of townhouse is close to each other where the primary purpose is to save in the heating cost as only outer walls are exposed to cold. The city has also a neighbourhood of very spacious single house type.
Are the roads salted in the winter?
Correct! Sometimes, dirted for traction purposes.
May I ask how bad the wind is in Saskatchewan? I wonder how comparable it is to living on Vancouver Island. Do you find it tolerable or are there often many extreme winds over 40km/hr? Is the wind bad year round? Sorry for all the questions! Thank you :)
The wind is not always everyday or all year round. You may experience it like 2-4x a month and sometimes it lasts for a day or two. It's noticeable cause it drops the wind chill significantly. It affects me since I work outside as a letter carrier but it doesn't affect too much if your office worker where you go outside only to go to your car. You're welcome! No worries about questions!
Wind is very common here, both summer and winter; it can make a -5 day feel MUCH colder than a -10 day just by adding some wind. It also blows the snow, which can make driving hazardous due to poor visibility and ice build-up, and it will pack the snow HARD when it's really windy.......makes shoveling way harder after a strong wind.
Wind sucks here
We are in the jet stream.
How is it possible for older retirement age people to handle winters that are even colder than Calgary?!
How do you deal with the higher grocery prices? I checked the online flyers and made a comparison between Toronto and Saskatoon. Toronto has more variety, cheaper stores with cheaper fruits and vegetables.
Hello, since I live in SK only, I didn't notice that our fruit and vegetables are much higher in prices until you told me now. 😁

Can I apply in Canadian College?
If yes, Then which colleges?
Science Background
Hello Maruf. The requirements will depend on each school. Here's a site where you can find school - www.applyboard.com/partners/olcorp. Make sure to filter Canada as country and tick Post Graduate Permit Available.
I am basically an Indian and i''ve never been in less than 5 degree temperature. Now I am planning to study abroad in Canada but a little bit confused because I know the expenses are much cheaper in cities like Regina and Winnipeg but I am afraid of freezing winters as here in India I almost live in 40C during summers and it's very normal here. So I have never experienced that harsh weather. Do you think surviving there will be very hard for me?
By the way great information! I really appreciate your efforts and thank you so much for providing a rough idea of winters in Saskatchewan.
Hi there! It's not very hard to adjust since most of the time in the winter time, you are inside the house or work where the heater is also set to normal comfy temperature. Probably, more adjustments when you drive during the winter cause you need to be slower and cautious of your break.
Move in the Spring to give you time to become acclimatized. Get to know the ins and outs of winter clothing and how to be comfortable with cold temperatures. You'll be fine.
Learn from the locals and give yourself about 6 months to acclimatize.

To save for the tuition fee, yes, you can choose out of SK school cause it's expensive to study in SK due to less school choices. SK has a pathway anyway for the students who got hired in SK even they studied outside the province. The advantage for studying in SK is that you can already choose your company while still doing the study, show how you worked and just be absorbed after you graduated and be supported with the SINP.

Hi, May I share the most important news you will ever hear in your entire life? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
i hate it here

I would move to Saskatchewan anytime if not for the winters. How the hell would Canadians revert to all electric cars like the climate maniacs advocate??
If you live in a single house you need to shovel your driveway and your sidewalks around your home which takes a lot of effort and time. City bylaw requires you to shovel the city sidewalk too. Buy a condo if you can’t do the work.
Correct! For Saskatchewan, I think if you cannot do your household responsibilities, live in a condo instead.
✨Anyone that lives there is crazy loco in the head. -40 Celcius for 8 months of the year. Hard pass on that. Adios!☀🌴🌴
