I work at a call center and i have to manage my blackness all the time. Certain customers I have to turn it on to get them to talk like they got some sense. Once I put that base back in my voice the whole convo changes.
I worked those too when I was younger literally left the industry bcuz I wasn't going to strain my voice once I got in my 20's my female manager couldn't take the power of the bass in my voice. Tryna tame me...Bish Grown ASS man can't help how my voice make you feel! Hope you moved past that BS bruh I feel this comment to da tenth power
I got a deep ass voice and worked at McDonald's for a while. For the first month or two I was told multiple times a day that I sound rude and should talk "nicer" ie in a higher pitch. When we had shitty customers I would just start talking normally and the whole room just changed.
Deon has gotten exponentially better over the years. I used to think his material was hit or miss (mostly miss and hitting every 3rd or 4th bit). But now? His delivery is tighter, his pacing is dynamic, and the relatability of his content is that much better.

Same with the cold peanut butter bit, youre taking a fine woman out and maybe you want to spend it all to impress her; talking his personal taste which is assumed to be shared by a crowd that cheered about it. You try to spread cold peanut butter, (impress this chick and sleep with her) you gonna fuck your bread (money) all up. Frozen peanut butter breaks your knife, so thick she'll break you. Idk, probably looking into the bit too much, but combined with delivery and crowdwork this is some good comedy. Pacing is good, punchlines work if you actually get them. Not the "smartest" comedy, but smart about the presentation and that is what being an entertainer is all about. Probably leave the comments if you just have dumb or rude shit to say. 😚
