- In this video, I open up a portion of the wall and install a doggie door so the pups can come in and out during the day. In order to make this happen, I had to install some framing, insulation, and drywall. It was a rocky start getting them to figure out what it was, but now they are experts at using this new contraption!

Really nice install except It’s a bit close to the door handle side for my liking! Is it possible to reach in through it and unlock the door? Maybe im just in a bad area to worry about that!

I think the room this door leads to has a door that can be locked. This just provides the dogs with a place to go if it's cold or rainy outside.

Glad to see the dogs are using it ... I have often wondered how quickly dogs, (or cats), take to those kind of doors...
My cat will sometimes forget it's a door even if she went through it hundreds of times. It greatly depends on how inquisitive or scared your animal is, I think. My cat doesn't like doors in general, so she only uses it if she really needs to. And will loudly complain when any door in the house is shut, so she's weird anyway.

Not hating, just trying to learn. Shouldn't the paper for insulation be towards the warm side? In CA, isn't the warm side usually the outside?

I think you held the insulation the incorrect way. I think the bottle needs to be upside down for it to flow correctly.
Honest question as I have never used or even seen, a doggie door, but don't they allow unwelcome people to enter the house?
You can get electronic ones with a tag collar. Those are locked unless the dog comes close.
