- Miriam Lancewood lived with her husband Peter for seven years in the wilderness of New Zealand. They left civilisation in 2010 and walked into the mountains with not much more than a backpack. They roamed around like nomads, slept in a tent, cooked on a fire and Miriam learned to hunt with bow and arrow. Their observations and experiences are unique in this technological world.
Since Miriam met Peter in 2006, they have been nomadic and lived and traveled in many different countries. At present they are in the Rodopi mountains in Bulgaria, east Europe.
Miriam's memoir 'Woman in the Wilderness', became an international Bestseller. In 2020 the sequel 'Wild at heart' came out, and in 2023 she co-edited a new publication called 'Wilder Journeys'.

Thank you both so much for this message! 💗 I quit my job two days ago because my Heart told me so, exactly for this reason. For years I worked as a substitute teacher in primary schools and had no certainty. I lived in trust and wonder about all the miraculous beautiful opportunities, people and situations life brought to me. Two years ago because of financial ease I slipped into a contract and obligations and however the security and money brought peace, I ended up in boredom, stress and sickness. I had crossed the bridge from surrender to control and this took the life out of everything, spirit out of life.
So your video comes as a beautiful gift of confirmation on my way back to the Heart. 💚 Thank you, much Love!

Yes! I think so much unhappiness can stem from trying to control the world around us and having the expectation that we can. Randomness helps us appreciate that we are part of a much bigger system in nature, and not the other way around

Randomness to me is the same as natural intelligence, we as humans are stale herrings compared to the millions of years of experience the biosphere that created our current form is, sometimes the mind goes blank, calm and holy, to me it is natural intelligence ♡♡♡

Everything tends towards disorder- entropy is our default, it's natures tax. Many people don't know or acknowledge this, and fight against the tide their whole lives. I think being in the bush reminds us that randomness is everywhere! Nice to see Wharariki Beach at the end of your vid too- my favourite❤
You have got me thinking about my life's experiences. I believe that almost all of them have been the follow on from Random meetings🙏
I am nervous about my getting my first motorcycle next week, as folks remind me how dangerous it is, but it should enhance my life as an efficient and low impact form of travel to my adventures. I think you need to accept some risk to lead a full life and even if you hide away, wrapped in cottonwool, random events could still catch up with you.

Interesting that your final shot (a 'random place') here should be the one one place that I visited by chance in 1987, namely Wharariki Beach (Farewell Spit). It has remained with me an indelible image. Not just the majesty and awesomeness of the rock formations but the awe-inspiring wildness of the coastline and beaches. Everyday was a different scene re-shaped by Natures' forces.

It was a randomness approach when your lovely doggy friend visit you but through randomness arose a connection. I believe that because as I understand you settled more or less this beautiful soul is with you for a purpose although it may seem at first as a random visit. Hope I make some sense. Without randomness there would be no progression, no development, no creativity. The world would become stuck and die. To put it another way: there is a pattern, then, suddenly, randomly, the pattern shifts and new things come into being. Random mutations, life evolving out of the imperfect.
