Since you mentioned about less is more, i believe it applied to one song specifically that i heard from a soundtrack. "Come to your senses" movie version vs the end credits version from tick tick boom netflix movie. I feel the movie version was more authentic in portrayal in how the song is sung but the end credits just wanted to make it too pop-y and just too many runs where, for me, lessened the impact of the emotion conveyed in the song. EDIT: Just relistened to the End Credits Version of the song again (I've been skipping it in the OST playlist) and it really has lost the emotional core of the song in its delivery. I can't bring myself to even like it, knowing the movie version exists.

At least that is what it appears but he only did this for the studio version, all their live performances he blends/belts…I think a few steps down…or maybe a half step. Anywho…it’s hard to fucking do and with dancing as well. Amazing!
