  • Your hips are a powerhouse! But with power comes responsibility, and so this class is dedicated entirely to your pelvis and hips, giving them the attention they so desperately need.
    So often in modern yoga, we focus too much on flexibility and stretching, completely forgetting about all the other important aspects for hip health. In this class, I wanna show you how to move the hips holistically- for strength, for mobility, for flexibility, and for mind-body connection.
    This is exactly what we do in my full length online program- Hips Like Honey. And it works for thousands of students!
    👉If you would like to explore more about the mind-body connection and cultivate a healing yoga practice, join me in Hips Like Honey. During this 28-day hip and soul releasing program, you’ll learn how to work with your physical and energetic body, so that you clear any muscular and mental roadblocks you may be experiencing.
    Not just that, but you’ll peel away layers of stored stress and anxiety, so you can approach your everyday life as the calmest version of you.
    Much love and softness to you and thank you for being here. ❤️
    ~Manu

    Did this yesterday. Cried the whole day. I went through the a lot during this years and my hips are in a tremendous amount of pain. After 11 years of yoga, i knew this was the answer, but the emotional pain to feel was really too much. This is THE way of doing things i was looking for, thanks for showing me the path.

    After just doing this once I have movement in my hips that I haven’t had in YEARS (maybe ever?) note: I’m only 28!
    Spent the few minutes after one session yawning and tearing up as things released and were processed. Absolutely amazing, thank you for posting this❤

    Enjoyed the class! Just have a question about warming up..
    although it’s quite a gentle class, wouldn’t warming up your hips first make a difference in range of motion to start stretching in.
    I’m aware of RUclips’s favor for 20m videos but I’m wondering your opinion on warming up first yes or no😊

    • @manumitevova
      @manumitevova  4 месяца назад

      If you have time to warm up, 100% do it ❤I would say it makes every single practice better, smoother, and easier. You'll only need 5 min, and you can even vary the warm ups- can be any cardio or mobility. Both work 🥰

    What does it mean when one leg is easier to lift in staff pose…huge difference for me in the difference…thank you for this practice ❤🙇‍♀️

    • @manumitevova
      @manumitevova  Год назад +2

      Hello love ❤ It's absolutely normal to have one leg more restricted than the other, but the aim is to minimize it. It is likely due to lack of range of motion in the hip joint as well as tightness in the hip flexor muscles. It's never just one thing, but rather, the whole hip and whole body connected. The more you explore mindful movement, the more you will begin unwinding that tension and gaining more range of motion 🤗

    It's strange, that when I move my hips, and doing this video I start to sigh all the time, and I have the sensation of throwing up. I can't recognise when it was so locked, which is the origin. It's very curious to me.

    • @manumitevova
      @manumitevova  Год назад +5

      This is definitely a natural response ❤ You're moving energies, unlocking channels, and opening up not just your hips, but your whole system. It can be uncomfortable at first, but just noticing and being with the sensations is a first step to a big emotional release 🤗

    Did this today, and loved it...the time actually flew by (I am usually counting the minutes with exercise). I wanted to do this a couple of times to make sure it would work for me (without too many tears) before doing the hips like honey. I just wanted to double check on a couple of things. I seem to be tighter in the back of my hips than in the front (in butterfly poses, I always land with my knees on the ground). Will it still help with stretching the back of the hips too? Also, I had a hand injury that makes putting my palm flat on the floor uncomfortable, and I seem to be too long waisted to do that while keeping my back straight anyway. I had been putting my fists on the ground when doing yoga to make it work, but I noticed you used what I think you called spider hands - would that be ok to use when my hands are supposed to be flat on the floor?

    • @manumitevova
      @manumitevova  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hello love ❤️ So glad you enjoyed the class! Your practice should always adapt to you, not the other way around, so yes, keep using your fists even if it seems strange. You gotta work with your body 😉 As for the tension in the hips. That's completely normal. Every body is different, and the magic of the hips is that everything is connected. I really don't subscribe to the notion that we should only stretch the part that's stiff. There's a reason why it got stiff in the first place, and to heal that, we need to think big picture. So keep on practicing, keep on moving, you're doing amazing! ✨

    Why does my upper back hurt and tense so much when doing all of this?

    • @manumitevova
      @manumitevova  5 месяцев назад

      Likely to do with overcompensating there. It's actually very common to lock up the back when opening your hips, because your body is trying to regain control and keep the bracing going. This is typically very subconscious, so I invite you to notice how your whole body is responding to hip opening, and direct some softness there ❤️‍🔥

      Whatever feels good ❤ Let the body guide you to when it has enough. Typically, I would recommend starting with about 20 minutes a day, maybe 5 times a week, if this isn't too much for you. You can also do half that 🤍
