I remember the first time I heard this song on the radio decades ago. I was already a fan of the Christian singer David Meece, but by the time that this song had finished playing, I knew I had just heard a masterpiece.

I think part of the reason that David did not place in the top 20 is that the number of albums he was releasing was shrinking. Without exposure, people tend to forget. Now me...being a "70's kid"...I am partial to The Imperials, David Meece, Sandy Patti and others who were active around that time. Today...if you walk into most church youth groups and talk about the above names...chances are you'll get a bunch of blank looks.

Yes. David Meece wrote "We Are The Reason". It is one of the best known Contemporary Christian songs. I read somewhere that Ray Boltz's "Thank You" is at the top of the "list".

I think part of the reason that David did not place in the top 20 is that the number of albums he was releasing was shrinking.
Without exposure, people tend to forget.
Now me...being a "70's kid"...I am partial to The Imperials, David Meece, Sandy Patti and others who were active around that time.
Today...if you walk into most church youth groups and talk about the above names...chances are you'll get a bunch of blank looks.
