TORNADO WARNING FOR MY AREA + SIRENS + PDS CONFIRMED TORNADO IN CHICAGO!!! (EAS #1,549-1550) 7/12/23

- What a crazy, action packed 4 minutes! First, we have a Tornado Warning for my area, which was initially issued as radar indicated (and later dropped a confirmed tornado that went through my town). Then, another EAS follows, this one is a Tornado Warning for a CONFIRMED tornado headed toward the city of Chicago! While this second alert is happening, I’m also recording the sirens going off for the Tornado Warning in my area. In 13 years of EAS recording, I’ve never had a video quite like this.

I had a dream last night where we had a TOR-C in my county. I thought "strange", and then went back to watching you on my computer. Literally the second I got up there was a PDS Tornado Warning for my area- everywhere in my town EXCEPT my house, and that was the strangest part of the dream. The second after it was issued, they upgraded it to a Tornado Emergency and my entire house then got sucked into the tornado. I was just left lying on the base foundation of my house with the tornado directly on top of me yet failing to suck me in. Then, the tornado put the house down in the middle of the road. I went back to check on it and surprisingly everything was fine. I then checked Wikipedia's list of United States Tornado Emergencies 5 days later, and it said the tornado was rated an EF6, and there were news reports saying I had died when I was still alive. Definitely the craziest dream I've had in years! I think it's super sick, and I will never tell my dad about it.
I heard there was some bad tornado damage around Elgin. I hope everyone was safe.

As an Oklahoman, tornado sirens are the last thing you ever want to hear. We always have it bad in our state, and we were under a tornado warning in February 26th of this year. The sirens went off, instantly making me panic. I've lived here all my life, but it's those damned sirens that get me every time. Our house wasn't destroyed, as nothing really formed near our neighborhood, though there was a confirmed tornado near our city.
Oh man, i remember this day. Which was only a month or two ago but still. I had no idea it was a PDS. Thought it was just a normal tornado warning, but knowing the population in the area, it would make sense for it to be one.

there was a tornado only 10 minutes away. it was at northern illinois i live 10 minutes or like 5 min away. also tornado at o-hare which is only 15 min away

Indeed. Even more eerie several minutes later when I realized there was an actual tornado on the ground nearby.

I was safe! About 2 miles to my west quite a lot of damage occurred, though. There have so far been 2 confirmed tornadoes in Elgin. They’re looking to see if there was possibly more.

I was located on the very large and dangerous tornado near Summit
My Friends Dad Was In Glendale Heights For Duly While This Happened, My Friends Were At Home Knowing "Hey Theres Gonna Be A Big Storm Blah Blah Blah", July Is The Most Deadly Month For Illinois, And Thats How Batavia Was Almost Struck By A Tornado.
(note: I was In wisconsin for a vacation and i alerted my friends when we saw the radar on the news in chicago, but they couldnt respond because there phones were dead in the water sadly)
I caught that alert on radios and tv and it was gonna hit in chicago for the pds tornado warning and it was gonna hit the area where I live so we had to leave

Maybe when I was younger, but I’m 27 (26 at the time this was recorded). Once you become an adult it’s okay to cuss from time to time. Just my opinion.
