So, heads-up - Tupperwear makes a citrus peeling tool that looks like a plastic crochet hook. Total magic for keeping your nails nice while also getting to enjoy your citrus.
I think we need a medieval collection for fall- dragon and brimstone soap, wizard soap, mystic waters soap, a knight soap, maybe some sort of mead soap and of course a princess style soap
My husband calls this my “expensive RUclips channel,” because I buy something each month. But then he loves the soap in sneak into his shower each month!
Oh this quickly became my "expensive YT channel" too lol. I bought two bars of soap, a candle, and body lotion to start. Then I bought the jellyfish soap, a sticker and another candle because the first one is so good! I need more candles from her because she /nails/ the fragrance level
Love the soap! My most hated piece of marriage advice is "never go to bed mad". Like, I'm not staying up till 3am to hash something out while I'm tired and grumpy! Most of my problems are fixed by getting some sleep, and usually something we were fighting about doesn't feel like a big deal in the morning when I'm rested lol. Thanks for no endorsing unsolicited marriage advice!
I think that the advice isn't about hashing out the issue right then and there. I think its more about if something happened one of you during the night that the last things you say to each other shouldn't be angry words.
I agree. I don't agree with it. If I'm angry, I need to take a moment to step back and collect myself before I say something I regret. Once something is said, you cannot unsay it.
So true! Our pastor’s advice to us when he signed our marriage certificate was “never have important conversations after 10pm if it can possibly be postponed to when everyone is well rested and clear headed in the morning”. (Second piece of advice was to never let your daughters go out without someone without teasing their date first to see his reaction, and as it turns out we now have three girls so we’ll probably be putting that into action sometime in the future).
I know you don’t love the look of Simian’s method during the piping process, but I’ve found that I like it so much better during use because weird holes don’t appear in the top as the bar wears away.
We've been married almost 15 years, and about the only thing I think makes sense as far as advice for everyone goes is to TALK to your partner. You can't learn more, figure each other out, or navigate life without talking about your individual perspectives/wants/needs. How you work things out or what you do after always varies, but the pure fact that you need to communicate some way seems essential.
Me: asks sister what kind of scent she likes best, for a gift bar? Sister: Oh, you know I love citrus and ooh, basil, anything herby and fresh... Me: *puzzled* Katie: *makes soap that could not be more perfect if she was reading my sister's mind* Thanks so much! This collection, seriously, is just brilliant. So sophisticated and summery. And you look so relaxed and happy with it all. Congratulations. :)
Personally? Look out for the scent Katie used in this soap, and keep an eye on if she she uses it in the future too!! Cool Citrus and Basil, an absolutely perfect scent for your needs 👌
The idea about an item of your small business being given as a gift to loved ones is definitely something I feel. When I get an order that is listed as a gift or has a gift note, I try to go even farther with it and make it my best work for packaging and spend extra time on the gift note in customizing what its printed on and such.
I love when you do a drizzle in between the first and second layer of single color soap frosting to break up the massive clump of solid color on the top.
I love how this soap turned out. I actually like the green color as well. That whole palette gives me a 60s 70s funky color vibe! I love it. But, Katie, I must know where these press-ons are from they are super cute!
What do you think about calling next month’s collection, “The Royal Duchess Collection” since it’s all about your loves! Love your content and positivity. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. 💛💜
My mom used to make a lemon basil sorbet and it was surprisingly good, given the fact that you'd think the basil would be overwhelming. I'd definitely encourage anyone to try it!
I was going to say "Katie's brain" but I just saw someone suggest "Something Fun For Katie" and I love that. Also I love basil. Lush always disappoints me because they keep discontinuing the great herbal scents I fall in love with. I make my own stuff now (thanks in no small part to you!!) and can make all the herbal smells I love... and no one can stop me!! muahaha!!
Pausing 3 seconds into the video just to comment - today Ive had one of the most exhausting and draining days at work I've had almost all year..... and all I want is silence and quiet, but I just KNOW that Katie being the first thing on my feed when I open RUclips means I am on my way to a better mood! Katie, thank you for sharing your personality and your time with us random internet hoomans. You truly help relieve the stress of the world!
Hands down my favorite soap design of the year. I can vouch for the scent too (as I use it with a little menthol for shower steamers). It is amazing. You are such an inspiration Katie. Your videos bring me so much joy. Name idea for next month: *Dutchess Delights*.
i relate to that little panic moment so much. in every crochet project i have 1-3 "omg did i make the right choices? are these colors nice? is it wonky?" moments, and seeing it come together is such a good moment. i now gift almost exclusively stuff i made, i my friends get to pick a pattern and i'll make it for them. they are some of my favourite gifts ever and im so happy seeing them display it. no other feeling like someone appreciating your craft. especially when you make a lot, you get almost desensitized in a way cuz you see it all the time the soap is beautiful!! makes me wanna get a lime and mint lemonade!! random thought: i always see dried orange slices, but rarely ever dried lemon. wondered why. they must exist right? maybe orange pops more, with the contrast. what a silly small thing to notice

I grew up surrounded by citrus orchards and my grandparents had citrus in their backyard. They used to bribe me with bubblegum to climb up in the trees and pick everything so that it would not rot on the branch. My faves are tangelos and blood oranges but for really good fresh juice you need navel oranges and tangerines for the right balance of sweet and citrus. I also really like mandarins as well.

Hi Katie! I just made my first purchase from royalty soaps!! I have been watching you for a few years from Canada and can’t wait to see what your soaps actually smell like!! 😁😁😁😁 so excited!
This year, my two crafty besties and I are switching out for family Christmas gifts for each other's families. I cross stitch, one beads, and one makes soap now.
Tangerines for me! And Orange cake is a staple at home. 🥰 Lemon in water is quite helpful for folks who have trouble staying hydrated. Just remember to brush those pearly whites often because lemon juice is, of course, acidic. Thank you Kathy for being so joyful and happy! You’re smile made my day better. Stay safe. ❤️
In regards to marriage, I got so much advice in the realm of “don’t go to bed angry” “agree to calm down when fighting” and other stuff like that. My husband and I have never had a fight. Sure we have had disagreements, discussions about things where we didn’t see eye to eye, and time where we weren’t all that happy with the other. But we also have a policy of talking things through when issues arise. We don’t yell, we don’t get heated, and we don’t storm off and refuse to talk. If the discussion is to much, we agree to come back to it later. Its just interesting how much advice we got on that topic that wasn’t really applicable to us. In relation to these thoughts, I think a universal piece of advice for all relationships is have open communication. It’s just so important.
I have so much fun watching your videos you are an inspiration I know life gets tough and we all have our moments of just just burn outs or whatever You may call it. But life is enjoyable every time I get to watch one of your videos thank you for being inspirational thank you for creating such beautiful soaps and being just the beautiful person that you are thank you Katie thank you!

Wait the press on nail lady is so good!! You should do a collab where you make a set of soap and she makes nails to match!
I don’t know why DIED of laughter when you piped the middle of the frosting with the slide whistle sound effect.
I absolutely love this design!!
I looove the frosting colour!
This year, my two crafty besties and I are switching out for family Christmas gifts for each other's families. I cross stitch, one beads, and one makes soap now.
omg your so close to one million!! I’m so excited for you!😄
Tangerines for me! Stay safe. ❤️
I am obsessed with honey citron ginger tea 🥰🥰🥰
This was my favorite soap I've seen you make in a long time! Love it
In regards to marriage, I got so much advice in the realm of “don’t go to bed angry” “agree to calm down when fighting” and other stuff like that.
For the QOTD: I agree, I like limes best. Lime juice makes basically every food better. And the color palette for this soap was so fun!
This is so perfect for me I love citrus everything! I love lime especially its green freshness is everything to me!
The colors are LOVELY in this soap :D
YES that feeling you were talking about when peeling citrus bothers me so much 😭😭 then it stains the skin under the nail orange too
LEMON! I love lemons. And limes :) Love the orange slice above that shade of yellow. :)

Hello, Katie! Just a hint for peeling citrus: use a butter knife to loosen the peel. There is no need to hurt yourself or even have nails! 😀
