Lynyrd skynyrd Is LEGENDARY !
All time great ! Childhood memories still deep inside the spirit of our days has never died !
Sleep now peacefully your quest is done !
For those of you fans that don't know, the black t-shirt that Ronnie is wearing says Smoke House which was a staple Barbecue Joint in Nashville, TN for almost 38 years and served up some of the best BBQ in town and, also had live music on the weekends. The building is still there to this very day. Rumor is they played there once in 1970 and later on, came back once they became popular to eat and drink and "cut the rug or two".. We like all of the south, had some fine ass women and still do..☠ 🤠
I was born raised in Nashville, I know they played the old fair grounds around 72, worder if the Smokehouse is over off Nolensville Road I might be wrong. They played a lot of head shops to around Nashville back then.

This is a very spiritual moment watching this, what a band. Wonder if this is what Heaven sounds like.
Seeing them live in Heaven would be Heaven!
It Could. Ronnie would say, "It better". TD Atlanta
Allen collins was the most underated guitarist in the world,, barr none!! Rip brothers!!
Watching these old shows you could tell how much Ronnie loved him and was so proud of him.
They all are underrated . Billy Powell is the most talented rock piano player.
Elton, billy joel, and Freddie are complete hacks compared to BP. He could read and transcribe music. To bad winterland is condos now.

I was blessed to have seen Ronnie and the boys 6 times before their terrible plane crash!
They were good to us in Pensacola and Mobile. I saw other band groups for Skynyrd at least 6 more times, but it was never the same without Ronnie!
Ronnie was so wicked shmat to add those 3 Girls into their line-up - some of the greatest professional , extremely well rehearsed bunch a partying like crazy guys taking everyone along for that ride to ever live !
Three Steps seemed a bit faster than I remember.Great show by the best performers.
I graduated high school in 1976 and had seen Skynyrd several times in Little Rock. Had 2 tickets to see them in 1977 and they were two shows away from Little Rock when they crashed. Tickets were $7 a piece! I'll never forget that day and there will never be another band like them in our lifetime.
Skynyrd...one of my favorite bands of ALL TIME...one of the BEST!
The best southern rock that has ever been played written and preformed by the greatest band that ever lived, rest in peace to all the original members...
I love it.❤
I'm always watching Lynyrd Skynyrd here in " Freezing CT. Jan 20"

This really brings back memories. I saw L.S. 2 days before this concert on 3/1/1976 at Denver University. They were Great. I threw a care package on stage. A Roadie picked it up and I didn't think about it. After the concert, my buddy and I were walking across the parking lot.. A Limo pulls up with a ski rack and a dozen pair of skis and Ronnie popps his head out and said, " You guys got any more? I shook my head yes and gave him some more. He was sitting in back with the Honketts. He invited us to the After Party. We were so Starstruck, we forgot the name of the hotel. Darn it.
This app is AWESOME! I don't know how I didn't discover it alot sooner!. Definitely ROCKS!!!.
Thank You 💪🏽 Best Concert Ever. Miss ya Ronnie ! ❤😇
My favorite song by Skynyrd. Tuesday’s Gone.
So many hits, wished I would of been born when they were still together. Just think of the music they could of made if it wasn't for that plane ride.

Ronnie must have been made of swagger! What a cool stage vibe he had... not to mention his singing. Just seems to be so natural and honest. I was 10 y/o in '77. Wish i could have seen them at least once.
I was 10 years old in 77 and I remember it like yesterday. Their music takes me back to those very days when when life was good.
I turned 16 a month before the crash and for me and all my friends October 20, 1977 is the actual "Day the music died"
@robertboyle4445 you just did!

Gary Rossington was at the peak of his powers here with that distinctive bluesy smoldering style. A few months later Steve Gaines would come aboard and they’d be back to the triple guitar lineup.
He played with all his heart
Yup, he's playing a lot more lead during this period. Proof that it was always he and Allen's band, and they could always hold it down.
I have to agree that this is the Best that Gary sounded, he was diffently on top of his game as well as Allen. As far as i'm concerned the best southern rock band that ever was and has not been surpassed by none to the present. Long live thier music.

Read a article billy was working setting up the stage an such..an ronnie heard him tunning a piano an immediately hired him to play in the band...true story...

I like the way Ronnie sang and would emphasize the end and start of his lyrics with little clicks, squeals, “heys”, “woos” “na na nas” and grunts. He ruled that stage.

Allen played that solo so well I love this version so much ...also played like this at Knebworth ...it is a little different than the solo at Oakland where Ronnie cut him off a little quicker there in Oakland for some reason...Here and Knebworth he turned him loose....The longest version of the solo I remember was the one in Jacksonville May 1, 1976 He really turned them loose that night! Sadly it was the last time they played with Ronnie here in their hometown. They were supposed to play at the Sunshine Jam in the Gator Bowl a few months later in July but Ronnie was unable to perform. Shame there was no film of the Jacksonville May 1, 1976 show ....it was real special there were so many people there ...the police did not even try to limit how many people squeezed in there ....it was like that for Led Zeppelin in 1973 as well ....they just did not want to have a riot with that many people ...I heard that there was 20k+ at both of these shows ...the old coliseum sat 12k lol...I believe it ...The concourses outside the arena were completely filled all the aisles were used as seats.
In 76 I was a young girl jamming out every night on my 8 tracks and two hugh speakers that were connected for realism.love this.
I love this song and to me this is the greatest assembly of talent to ever call itself a rock band. There are none to compare, now or ever, and Ronnie was the very heart and soul of it. May the music they left behind entertain and inspire many generations of young rockers to come. I love ❤️ my Skynyrd.

@@johnvreeland5995 true but Gary had some of the best solo spots I ever heard
Steve Gaines is better.
But I prefer Edward King...
What a flashback. I was at this concert at the front of the stage, right in front of Rossington. Artimus broke a drumstick that went skittering across the stage, into my hand & I'm actually holding it right now. Billy Jones of the Outlaws joined them on "T for Texas". Bob Welsh's band Paris opened, the Outlaws were on 2nd. One of my all-time favorite Winterland concerts. Some of u posters seem to think not having a 3rd guitarist means the band wasn't at full strength but I disagree; I had seen Skynyrd before with Ed King but it wasn't that good of a show. Sometimes less is more. Rossington & Collins really cut loose here, check it out, y'all.
I read comments sections of live shows for exactly this kinda thing, someone who was there pops up with stories. Love it. Thanks man. I dig all the lineups through '77, this lineup is special in it's own way, Gary gets showcased a little more and that's cool.
