A good newer magic item is the Crysyal Blade from Fizban's. An extra 1d8 Radiant damage on hit makes a longsword or rapier equivalent to the damage of a 2nd level shadow blade without concentration. Could also get this as a greatsword. Plus you can get some extra healing or some light (if you don't have darkvision).
That's a good suggestion and I agree, it's a very good Rare item.
I made a build based off of this idea and have played it quite a bit and it’s so fun!
I made a multiclass between bladesinging wizard and Rune Knight UA fighter. There’s intelligence synergy, more spells, a better extra attack that allows for shadow blade and green flame blade combos, and of course armour class out of the ass.
As for race I used aasimar crossed with a homebrew race- my character was two characters that got literally cut in two and put back together by a mad scientist. For flavour one half was the caster and the other the martial.
I love your 'Thick Slavic' accent. Only way it could be better is if you managed to say 'I am Invincible" every once and a while.

Awesome Video. Another good 3rd level spell I would also recommend is Spirit Shroud. Extra damage and anti heal.
Been wanting to make a Spirit Shroud-centric character for a while. That spell can be a trap, but it does offer enough outside of just pure damage that I'd at least consider it for spellswords.

Str > barbarian(2), barbarian(3)
Dex > assassin(3), gloomstalker(3), inquisitour(3), horizon walker(3), bladesinger???, arcane trickster
Special > hexblade, bugbear, trickster cleric
Strength is so straight forward. I dunno if it's worth a vid. GWM. Sentinel. Polearm does NOT work with echo. Nor does thrown weapons.
But dex has several different ways to build. Duel wield. Kite ranged. Magic/CC. Scout/assassination. That's all :)
My first character was an eldritch knight. One of my favorite charaters! So fun

Great build, but much more powerful at high levels. Imo scribes wizard might be better than sorcerer for switching spell damage, and wizard is obviously better than sorcerer. But sorcerer is much better thematically, which I feel is generally more important than combat efficiency, especially if you just wanna have a good time.
@@peebleshamster5189 Iam playin Aasimar which had undiacovered magical powers(accidently killed group of kids at childhood) and raised by cleric. The magic power comes from Talos blood in him. So it kinda fit on sorc 🙂

Sentinel doesn't give you an opportunity attack. It gives you a chance to "use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacking creature." And the interaction with War Caster only works with opportunity attacks.
Or is there sage advice or something contradictory to this?
Sentinel does give you an opportunity attack against an enemy who uses Disengage action.
I don't remember ever saying War Caster interacts with Sentinel's non-opportunity reaction attacks.
If I did, I was wrong, but I doubt it.

I see people talking about Crystal blade, but how about a flame tongue?
Fire damage is widely resisted/immune to, that's the biggest downside. It's otherwise very good.
What should I priorize as a damage option, shadowblade or booming blade? Since the blade cantrips errata I'm always unsure if I should stick with shadowblade and extra attack or booming blade/green flame blade with war magic

You can play however you want, but even Crawford said Shadow Blade wasn't the reason for a change.

If you're going for a dual wielding EK build... It's 18 AC at lv4 (17 AC at lv1).
If you're going for a tank EK build... It's 20 AC at lv4.
I prefer level 1 feat over +1 AC (Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron has been decommisioned, official Warforged is now only from Eberron: Rising from the Last War)
I do not get that wisdom and inteligence stats are similar and str so low when you are just third caster and also casting from wizard spellbook. Is it because wisdom is quite frequent testing stat? Still do not get str so low.
Is it worth dipping a full caster for extra slots? An upcast shadow blade and three attacks might be better than four attacks and no upcast
Not worth it for damage, it's pretty much the same, because that 4th attack deals 3d8+5 on a hit. Other than grabbing a couple extra level 1 spells, which is nice, I don't see the point. Single-class Eldritch Knight is the way to go if you ask me.

It is a rare item and bursts a lo of damage at early levels. No need for shadowblade.
Yeah, I missed that one, it's really good. I still like Shadow Blade's advantage in dim light/darkness though.
