    Heidi, I could really use a video with plant ideas for part sun areas. Those areas that might get only a couple hours afternoon sun - too much for full shade to thrive, too little for a full sun to do well. Love the videos!

    I have always been a huge petunia fan, even the old fashioned ones that you had to deadhead constantly. Then the wave petunia came along and it was so pretty...but proven winners has taken petunias to a whole new level and I can't get enough of all of them.

    Love your videos! I've been learning so much as I'm new to gardening. I would love to learn how to pair all the new plants colors so it doesn't look like a hodgepodge of colors! I'm ready to start my flower garden but afraid of it looking like a color wheel mess. Thank you!

    Yay Heidi. Thank you so much for doing this comparison. I so appreciate it. It was a really great comparison of all the different mini vistas. I had heard of the supertunia charm term before but didn't realize they were talking about the mini vistas, so that was a good move to change the category to mini vistas. Are the light requirements the same as the supertunia vistas or can they also handle a little shade. I did a mass planting of the jazz berry last year and they performed beautifully under a tall maple tree so the shade was very minimal. I thought I would try it. Its not like a typical maple, kinda like a Canadian maple.
    Tall and narrow. I don't know the name. Its on a slight incline on the south side of our yard so I planted the supertunia mini vista violet star on the lower level, then some heliopsis above that and then the jazz berry on the other side of the tree. All the neighbors that walked by loved it.

    • @gardencrossings

      Usually that is a sign of not enough food. You can also trim them if they get leggy, this will bulk them back up and branch then out. Here is the fertilizer we recommend using weekly:www.gardencrossings.com/product/plant-food-water-soluble-fertilizer/

    I would love a video with all the vistas together, then all the mini vistas together. This way we can see all the different shades all together. I live in florida zone 9a and would like to know if there are any big growers in the area the public can have access to purchasing proven winners annuals and perennials. We have big box stores and small nurseries that get a drip drip drip of this and that, instead of being able to see/purchase everything at once.

    Hi. Thanks for your video. I got the Mini Vista Indigo and was about to put it in a hanging basked on the east side of the house with either a white lantana or white verbena. Somewhere else I saw the gardener said that they do not do well with other plants. Is this true? Is the light going to be okay? I have trees around my pool so I don't get morning sun just midday sun. Thanks for your help. Blessings.

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  Год назад

      Mini vistas and verbena do great together. And depending on the Lantana that could be a neat look as well. They would want at least 6 hours of sun.

    I ordered and planted a Supertunia Vista Paradise last Thursday into Sungro potting mix. The petunia was planted in an Earthbox root and veg (similar to your Aquapot) by itself with no other plants. This means is holds water in a reservoir. Directly after planting I fertilized with 1/2 gallon PW water soluble fertilizer. The petunia gets morning sun till noon on my backporch because it faces due East here on the Alabama Gulf Coast (8b). Anyway, I would like for the petunia to get really large and flower like the ones in your yard until the Fall frost. But I also dont want to over fertilize in a 'wicking tub' type pot. Would you recommend fertilizing once every 7 days or 14 days in my situation?

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  Год назад +1

      You can add fertilizer every time you fill your reservoir if you would like. If you are fill often like more than once a week, dilute the fertilizer down a bit.

    What about pest control

  • @mikewood8680
    @mikewood8680 11 месяцев назад

    Self cleaning isn’t an accurate term. What it means is they continue to bloom while setting seed after spent blooms. Where regular petunias without dead heading will go to seed and flower production diminishes.

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  11 месяцев назад

      Supertunias are bred to be sterile and do not produce viable seed.
