In mainline Marvel comic continuity, the blue, glowing box was "The Casket of Ancient Winters." When it was accidentally broken open (around 40 years ago in the pages of Thor's comic), it plunged the entire world into a new ice age. It was a world-spanning event and brought together heroes from many different Marvel titles; Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four's Human Torch played key roles in getting the Casket reassembled.
This is so fun. It's usually at this stage that viewers start to see things start to connect. But Lauren has no idea what is to come and I can't wait to watch her. I think she's going to be blown away when she sees where this is all leading. And since she's starting to connect dots already, I think she'll fully appreciate the ride.
I am SO excited to see where it heads! I think I've been taking each movie as it comes and am now realising that it all connects more than I thought! So glad you are enjoying it as much as us! ~L
Nice. Leave it to Kenneth Branagh to take difficult comic book characters and introduce them here in a compelling Shakespearean story. Magnificent. Top 5 MCU for me. Keep up the great work you two, you're great.
Thank you so much for the comment and for being here for our video. We really appreciate it. I love shakespeare and Norse mythology so this was perfect for me! ~H
Every 10,000 years Odin goes into the Odinsleep. Other than that he never sleeps as The Allfather it's normal. Thor is such a child for a 1,500 year old.
Hi guys loved the reaction as always. To explain a bit about Loki’s motivations. So basically he felt betrayed by both Odin and Laufey who is Loki’s biological father. So his plan was to take over Odin’s role so he can get Odin’s staff and eradicate the frost giants using the bifrost . I think Laufey had no idea Loki was his son cause he taught the baby either died after the battle or was lost. Can’t wait for Captain America which I believe is next!
Thanks for the insight! Yeah I was thinking similar that he must've felt like he needed to prove himself to both sides? 🤔 Yes Captain America should be up soon!! ~L
To Odin, yes Loki was definitely trying to prove himself especially against Thor. Basically he wanted to be the “worth son”. When it comes to proving himself to Laufey, I’m not really sure cause I think Loki actually hates Laufey since he abandoned him as a baby so I think Loki was just using him as part of his scheme.
Yay lessssgooooo! My fellow Asgardians! Thanks for keeping this all going! I'm loving you guys and loving the channel. Its also awesome to see you improving video to video! Keep up the good work!
For Odin! Thank you so much! We are doing our best to learn as much as we can while editing and when we arent having to be at work! You being here and commenting is a huge help to the channel, Thank You!
You were on the right track with the sources for the names of the days of the week in English. Sunday and Monday are named for the Sun and the Moon. Tuesday is named for Tiw or Tyr, a Norse god of law and war. Wednesday is for Odin, Thursday is for Thor, and Friday is for Frig or Frey, all Norse gods. Saturday is the odd one out. It's named for the Roman god Saturn, just like the planet is.
@@Flix-n-Feels You're very welcome. What's funny is that the the days of the week in Spanish almost completely different but very similar to those in French. Both involve the Greco Roman gods
Thank you so much! Liking, Commenting and Subscribing is helping us out so much! It also gives us an awesome morale boost to get home from a full week of work and put in the effort to make the videos! We really appreciate you being here and helping us out!
In the comics, sometimes Odin goes into the “Odin Sleep”. He does it to recharge. It’s the only time he’s vulnerable. Odin hasn’t recharged in a long time. That’s why he collapsed when he told Loki his true origin. It was too emotional for him and pushed him over the edge.
Ok, F&F. The actor playing Dr. Selvan is Skellan Skarsgard. One of the best movies in his catalog called GOOD WILL HUNTING. You might want to take a look at it in between the MCU movies. It stars Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Robin Williams. I guarantee you will love it. The reaction was really good. I have subscribed to see more from the two of you. Keep going and enjoy the movies.
Watch out Harry. Lauren was giggling too much when she was talking about thors big hammer.... 😂 I just can't believe though she did not know what your tattoos mean... I mean it's on your body. She sees it all the time and she never asked?? 😁😂🤣😅
I know, I need to keep an eye on her I reckon 😅😅 She knows the overview of my tattoos but didn't realise it was actually Yggdrasil and the specific parts etc, and I go into a deep dive when I talk about it all so she probably zones out a bit haha, but she knows the major bits 😅
I love the teasing around 22:20, you two have a healthy relationship. My wife does the same thing when we watch Hemsworth (or Hugh Jackman) in the Marvel stuff. 😂
It's interesting to me observing how much information can be missed when viewing a film by taking your eyes away from the screen even for a brief moment. Some people naturally turn and look at someone that they are speaking to as a normal communication style. I watch to see how much they miss when they do that. It is usually quite a bit. The way movies are made today, there are continuous quick shots and quick cuts. Things move so quickly. So they more you take your eyes off the screen, the more you risk missing valuable information displayed briefly. By the end of the movie, it adds up to be quite a bit.
Yeh for sure. We are very much just being ourselves rather than trying to be a perfect actor style reactor so there are a few times where we are speaking at maybe the wrong time etc but I think by just being ourselves that also gives it quite a nice organic sort of feel. But let us know what you think and if it's too much of a drawback or not. We are really glad you are here and giving us the input!
Back with Marvels, YESSS, BTW, perfect pronunciation of Mjölnir, Harry. Also, a recommendation, if you can add captions to your videos, maybe it's just me, but I couldn't quite understand what you were saying at 16:20. Apart from that, great reaction and keep posting. We are all here to support you.
Hey Dev! Great to see you back! Yup 100% I will look into the captions aspect. When you say that do you mean ones that you can optionally turn on and off like the auto generated ones? Or captions that's are essentially hardcoded into the upload on my end? Still learning all of this but will do my best to figure it out!
@@Flix-n-Feels Hey, so auto generated ones would be better, since they can be turned on and off based on other watchers' preference whether they want them or not.
Okay cool cool, thank you, I think the auto generated ones should be enabled, I just checked and was able to turn them on so hopefully should be working at your end too?

Keep these coming! Only two more movies left for the MCU Phase One, but many more after that. Since the FOX & SONY Marvel movies now tie into the MCU, will you be watching those as well? Marvel comics very loosely follows Norse mythology (The MCU even less so). Odin sacrificed his eye in exchange for wisdom. Odin had gone to the well of Mimir, a cosmic well of knowledge located beneath the roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil. His price to drink from the well was the loss of his eye.
