      That camping area was great. We've yet to find a place with so many free amenities. They weren't the best, but the price of free made up for that big time. Never seen an unlimited stay limit either.

    Did you realize that this area has some of the most extensive pictographs in the country? They're mainly along the Pecos for a mile or 2 upstream from your location and can be accessed by a small boat launched from a ramp under that bridge. A few of us spent a couple of memorable weekends exploring and photographing them around 50 years ago.

    Very cool location! Reminds me of my trip to visit my friend in Killeen Texas. The creek near her house was the same. We found so many amazing Bellerophon ( snail ) fossils and many other types like the ones you were finding. They are from the Ordovician period 488 - 444 million years ago to the Triassic period 251 - 200 million years ago. Extinct Gastropods ( snails ) The age of those shells is freaking amazing. Texas at one point in history was a huge tropical forest and their state rock is none other than Petrified Palm Wood. It's really a Rockhounds paradise when you know where to look. The cool thing is that the abundance of Rockhound Treasures make it kind of easy to find great locations to hunt as you found. Great video guys! It makes me want to head back soon!!

      Thank you. If we ever make it back to Texas we are going to focus big on the fossils. We just scratched the surface. Holding something that old in your hands is just mind blowing. Texas really took us by surprise when we were told it would be terrible. I'll admit parts were, but the cool spots were worth it.

    wow Love the day a day life of the Adventure closet. Your tips and tricks Liz are ingenious, Pillows and clothes bin combination genius. each having a bag of toiletries, very minimal. As a hairdresser Liz, I will give you an easy way to cut your hair. parting it down the middle make a four sections two in front two in back. first part the hair down the middle from the crown to your nose, then section off the two sides from the crown to just behind your ear gathering them up with two rosettes Long clippies or barrettes. or a shoelace to the exact amount you want to remove, try to look for the bed of the wave in your hair, you can cut that section oll at once. do the same on the other side. leave them tied up until finished. Then do the same thing to the back ones letting them fall to each shoulder blade. have Charlie tie them off leaving how much you want to trim them then just lift them over your hear look for the bed in the wave and cut in the bed straight across. It should be pretty even all around. I highly recommend a tube of blue VO45 oil for you to use on your hair daily the smallest tap on the end of the tube then rub that amount onto your finger tips and then gather up the ends of your hair and apply daily especially to the ends near your face. and residue left over put all over your hair and work it in before you comb it. A blissy pillow case will ease breakage by 90 percent consider getting a silk pillowcase. your curls deserve it. You once asked about easy to fix meals, I love rice a roni, chicken or beef. I gussy it up with bell peppers olives and sometimes artichoke hearts. your brown the meat, you brown the rice a roni's you add 2 1/2 cups of water and the packet of seasonings in the package and walla ! you have a great meal. easy peasy. love all the shell artifacts you Charlie found, much have been brought up with water sometime ago. Texas was a miserable trip for me in 1976 when we crossed her at her width in our very old willis wagon jeep.It was from 1941! with no air conditioning. We were broke down almost ever day and the long waits in the hot sun drained my enthusiasm for the trip. I was experiencing vertigo on the trip so it was an endurance trip for me. Glad you always find some of the greatest places to camp. your good at that. Best of luck on the trip. thanks for all the updates.

      Hi YT Mom! Those are some excellent words of advice. I (Liz) am definitely going to try that haircut method next time. Fortunately we were travelling through TX during the lesser hot time of year. I could not imagine breaking down and not having AC out there when it can get into the 100s. Yikes! We love hearing about your travels. Thanks for sharing.

    What a cool community there, that's awesome! What a great place to stay to camp. You really do show so many different sides to this world, I love it, so many amazing adventures and explorations. Not only is everyday life a learning experience, you also make a journey out of it. I loved this video! You both do amazing work, and work your butts off! Crazy with boarder control guards. Right, the mini van looks like it can hold a bunch of people inside! What awesome shell fossils, those are so cool, what a great area! Safe journeys!

    I went camping at Falcon last year. Most of the water spigotes are bagged up because & I quote the older man that came to greet me here " Some RUclipsr washed out her hair dye with one. " So there's no water at most of the sites now. I can't find a way to say this politely but eff you for that. The shower wasn't that far away. I am very salty about that but I do enjoy the rest of your content.

    • @TheAdventureCloset
      @TheAdventureCloset  6 месяцев назад +1

      Mixed emotions with your comment here, but doubtful they closed up the spigot because of us. We rinsed everything really well. I'm sure they're shut down because of aging plumbing. Glad you enjoy the test of the content we show. Next time I will try and do better. ✌️

      @TheAdventureCloset As a fellow human I understand that we don't want to make mistakes. He said they still work but all got covered at the same time by the county officials for the above reason. Hair dye is full of harmful chemicals that don't rinse out of the soil. My first comment was on the unkind side and I'm sorry for that. We all screw up from time to time.
