I’m so happy to have stumbled on your videos. I use to be very similar to you! But after my car accident that left me partially handicapped, I can’t do it anymore 😥😥 So watching your videos brings me great joy! Keep on doing them, I can’t get enough! I was wondering how long did it take you to get your land (trails), camp and blinds to where you are now from when you purchased the land? BTW I love your setup! And all the neat simple things like the hot tub, the flamethrower 😄the shower setup. I miss those days! Keep it up you can tell by your body language and expressions that you really enjoy what you are doing! P.S: That steak was freakin huge, and cooked over an open fire, it made my mouth watery!
Man, so sorry to hear about your accident. And more sorry that it limits your time in the woods. If I’m honest, your story is exactly why I do this stuff; life, health, youth are all limited resources that none of us should take for granted. Putting off having fun for another day seldom pays off. While we are able, the time is NOW to live out our fantasies. Thanks for sharing your story and kind words. To answer your question, I bought this property early this year. All the videos are numbered so that if you go back to #1, you will see the first weeks out here. Started with just plain ol forest and began building haphazardly. After 9 or so months out here doing whatever seems fun that day the place is now starting to look civilized. And by civilized I mean totally ridiculous.
@@survivingringworm2202 You said so well ! While youth can’t leave you in an instant! No one knows when our health will go ! I certainly didn’t expect to loose at 40 yro ! So keep on doing what you’re doing you have the right attitude! I’m impressed in how much you got done in about a year ! Keep up the good work!
Don’t fill. Grade. Build a wood leveler/grader to pull behind your four wheeler. You could also make a larger one for the tractor. Filling is a waste of time and resources. Also, you should have a chipper for all the branches, and sawdust if you can collect it. Pave the road with the chips. The will last two years. The amount of trees you have that are dead around your camp will more than do it.
I enjoy both daily life-type videos and your project videos. The daily life videos will be a more accurate representation of this kind of lifestyle for those who are curious and considering a similar way. It's enlightening to viewers to really want to understand what is involved in procuring your own building materials, firewood, water, food, fuel, shelter, etc. It's a LOT of work and days are filled with fixing things, tending fires, provisioning, staying warm/dry etc, etc. The work is endless and you seem to be doing it all very well so far. I'm really enjoying watching your journey.
Really appreciate hearing your perspective. I guess I sort of assumed that nobody would find the videos and watch them to learn anything. I guess that’s why I always use the disclaimer “I’m not trying to teach you anything cuz I don’t know anything.” But I supposed someone might happen across them and it is the grain of sand that tips the scale to run out and do something nonsensically fun. And the daily stuff would perhaps shine a light on what’s involved if someone were to take that leap.
I discovered your channel just recently and have been binging. I really enjoyed this one of daily life. You are living out my dreams and inspiring me! I really enjoy your humor as well.
I watch a lot of weird stuff on RUclips, and your channel fits right in. I’m a retired handyman and have always marched to the beat of a different drummer, so your stuff fits right in. My philosophy is "If it isn’t making you happy, don’t do it. Love both kinds of videos. Good escape from reality, especially in lockdown, to see someones daily living outside of the house they’re trapped in. And the small luxuries you have out there and the work getting them going (tub, steak, etc) are satisfying to watch
I know I could be crucified for saying this but I still have a hard time imagining people on lockdown spending a huge chunk of time at home! I mean, it seems that most people spend an inordinate amount of time inside their houses so is it really that much different? I know, I’m an idiot. Anyway, thanks for your input. Maybe I’ll do a monthly/bi-monthly one-day video? It was actually fun and a lot easier to make which doesn’t hurt.
@@survivingringworm2202 I think the big take away is yes we spend the vast majority of our time inside but the other time we’re outside is super important. It’s the times we’re socializing and doing hobbies and stuff. Seeing the inside of a building other than the same grocery store. Now it’s just work, Netflix, go for a walk, repeat. Consider getting a 100w solar panel from Harbor Freight, Amazon or eBay. There is sufficient light in this video to keep your 12v battery topped off. When will you be building a sauna and bathhouse to surround your hot tub? Wishing you and your minion a great week. Cheers

Regarding content, I think it's a great idea to mix it up. As someone who enjoys the sort of projects you do, I'm always interested in seeing someone else's work. But it's also very interesting to see day-in-the-life stuff. Keep doing what you're doing.
This comment is about a year after your video, which i just now watched. you asked if we liked to see the stuff you had on this one, like charging up your batteries, going in the hot tub, cooking Thanksgiving dinner, etc, rather than exclusive chainsaw building videos; i enjoy both kinds. you could probably put a few more of this kind into the mix. interesting to see your day to day activities. take care and stay safe.
Hey.....I tried not to look......but what I saw while not looking looks pretty impressive! Nice home in the sky!!!!! As far as daily vs big projects. Both. And as a side note....after watching this video it is clear that life in the woods takes a lot of effort. Not thinking that it is the easiest way.....bravo for all you have done. The steak made me hungry
Well, a little peek isn’t going to kill ya I guess. Actually making curtains right this minute with burlap and “sewing” with a stapler. Super classy! After spending so much time out here (as with everything) the daily stuff just gets normalized and ya think no one would want to see that stuff. It’s not every day someone makes a 70 pound pair of dice with a chainsaw so clearly that has to be a video. But filtering water and eating lunch? Who knows. Just a thought. Save all the sawdust. Dig a root cellar hole and pack it with the sawdust, build a lid, and store the water jugs in it so they won't freeze. But have to dig in late spring though.
@@survivingringworm2202 sawdust is a good insulator so an above ground one might work. Before refrigeration blocks of ice were cut out of lakes and stored in "ice houses" only using saw dust/chips and the ice held long past the winter so people could get ice in the warmer weather to keep their food cold. It's definitely worth trying since you are milling wood a lot. You can also use straw and or hay. I'm no expert but I think it could work to build an insulated room to store water in. I do end up with some big sawdust piles. Just to get rid of the stuff, I've been shoveling it in the muddiest places. Maybe I'll just move it to a pile out of the way and when I get enough, make storage with it.
Maybe an addition for hot tub ? So you can stay in tub longer, maybe you can lash up some wooden slats or a grating for insulated seating with some weights to submerge it on bottom of trough, then you can keep the logs burning underneath without burning yourself on steel.

Enjoy the variety of both types of vids. I also am digging the dry, sarcastic humor that all of of you do so well. I'm busting up with ear buds on, next to my wife...she's watching Christmas movies, I'm watching your,(recently discovered), channel. I tried to explain, but to no avail. Anyway, love the channel. Great job mixing the drone shots in; love to see the vastness of wildness. I work in a large concrete landscape, and then commute to a large, desert landscape; so looking at your wood covered environment, kinda completes my visual palate. Thanks, Jim.
Keep the videos coming. Before my husband passed away we use to do all kinds of outside stuff now I just watch you and several others live the good life!
Just found you the other day and have been binge watching for two days. I like everyday life at the camp just as much as the large chainsaw videos. Every one is informative!
You can do both the daily vids and the big build projects. That way, you satisfy the viewers that want either type. And you can just separate them into different playlists.
Good thought but it's Michigan- not known for its sunny days plus almost no breaks in the canopy. Might get 2 hours of direct sun on a good summer day.
Enjoyed this video. That's my third. Saw your treehouse vids, out of order, but still enjoyable. Keep up the good work young fella. All the best of the season to you from this 77-year-old British Columbia motorcyclist/outdoorsman.
I have a remote cabin in Idaho where I use solar panels to keep a car battery charged. It works Great for half the year anyway. I can also watch a movie in the evening if I choose. I only run the generator when running power tools or to charge batteries when low sun.
You should rig up a wood fired water heater that you can control the heat. Hook it up in series with your hot tub and keep continuous hot water. Just a thought.
That would be sweet. I've seen people make the tank from 55 gallon drums. Can just keep the fire going all the time and adjust a ball valve to control the heat. Would be a fun project...
If you take gallon jugs and fill them up full of salt water and put them in your water tank. It'll still keep your water from freezing so easily. It has something to do with the way. The salt affects the weather outside or the cold wants to freeze the saltwater before it freezes the freshwater.
I like to see how your day goes...I plan to live in my car/camp over the US national parks. I hope you love yourself because you are one talented dude.
You will love that trip! Don’t miss Death Valley. It’s in that corner of the country where they grow amazing national parks. DV was always one of my favorites (not in the middle of summer.) It’s like being on another planet.
Love all ur videos on whatever topic. Wonder why you could not dig a hole below frost line to put water tank surrounded by sawdust - then just a small pump or handpump to extract unfrozen water. Where is the outhouse or is that not needed by someone from another planet who survived ringworm?

a mix is a great idea, it shows life... yours
Living you videos. New to your channel but love random activities. Keeps my curiosity peeked.
Hey Man! Stumbled on your videos 2 days ago, really interesting! Im gonna watch it from the start so I'm like 3 years behind🤣 Swedish Hunter/Fisherman, love the outdoors and everything you guys do in the woods is a boyhood dream. Keep doing what you're doing, its. awesome👍
Not just potatoes, chop onions, carrotts, mushrooms, garlic, butter , any vegetables. SUPERB AN!!🍁🍁🇨🇦
Enjoy the variety of both types of vids.
Thanks for your comments. I love reading stuff like that.
Definitely save your breath. This crap can't be explained to most people.
Happy Holidays!
Living the dream 👍
Keep the videos coming. Before my husband passed away we use to do all kinds of outside stuff now I just watch you and several others live the good life!
Sorry to hear that. Do you still get outside by yourself? The woods are just as lovely solo sometimes.
Ya. I wanna see daily crap! I love it. Just film stuff - I'll watch! :)
I want to see your daily life fella. Love the content keep it up!
I like whatever you doing just keep sending them out
Great as always !!!!
Thank you sir! Going to come check it out some day!
I like the Daily video to see what you do on a daily basis
Love it all! Daily and big builds!
I will watch anything you want to show us. 😁
Love this kind of video. I have off grid property in the UP also. I’m thinking I need a hot tub like yours! Lol
Just found you the other day and have been binge watching for two days. I like everyday life at the camp just as much as the large chainsaw videos. Every one is informative!
Thanks Craig!
You can do both the daily vids and the big build projects. That way, you satisfy the viewers that want either type. And you can just separate them into different playlists.
Cool video ! i enjoy both styles of content . Day to day and the projects. Fun to watch, I dig your outlook ! Keep it coming.
You need to put a few solar panels on the deer castle so you can skip moving batterys arouns!
Awesome, thank you!
Love the channel. Cool video. A good mix of both styles is cool . Keep up the great work
Thanks man. I love seeing you and your woods.
Man thank you for helping me work on my property for fun! Daily stuff is cool cause it gives the nitty gritty and ideas
If you aren't having fun, what's the point!
@@survivingringworm2202 Went to our camp today and built a table you inspired me to do. Can we send you some pictures and videos?
All the videos are good! Do what you enjoy :)
Hello from North Florida! I like the variety of videos you do. I love soaking in a trough as well. What fun to be in nature.
Greetin's! Glad to know of another trough soaker!
You should build a bridge over that muddy area or something like that. Wide enough and the length of going back and forth
Excellent 😊
These daily videos are great too.
your videos are awesome. Love watching them
I like such daily stuff. The little things are interesting too.
Sweet. Thanks for the comment. Thinking once it warms up a bit and I don't have to leave to edit these, I'll start doing more of the daily videos.
Love all ur videos on whatever topic. Wonder why you could not dig a hole below frost line to put water tank surrounded by sawdust - then just a small pump or handpump to extract unfrozen water. Where is the outhouse or is that not needed by someone from another planet who survived ringworm?
time for a small 50 0r 100 watts solar panel and that battery is going to be charged 24/7
Food is always great when you cook it outside over a camp fire 🔥. I did a lot of it myself.
You got that right!
Keep them coming
