To me this song tells a story of two young adults having a forbidden love because the parents didn't approve and so they left to love without being told they can't but an accident happened to the husband and he tries to fight it but he can't fight away death so heart broken the wife takes her own life thinking that the world couldn't go on with out him. But just my perspective :)

If watching these synthsia type videos is a good way for you to learn, i found it not too difficult. Even if it is then just make your own modifications to what ever fits you.

Why does this sound like Moonlight Sonnata but in another key?

Why are some notes hard to hear in the original?

Because a MIDI or keyboards play at a set volume. On a real piano you can soften them up by not hitting the keys so hard. Which is why this sounds different. He is playing the left hand "piano" and the right "forté"

You actually have no idea how hard this piece is to learn by ear which is what i did. i only just found out the name of the song recently. it used to be just mall.ogg in a minecraft texture pack folder on my mac so i learnt the whole thing by ear. but it doesn't sound as good on this program, play it on real piano to get the full effect.
