Just finished that movie Home Team right now at 1:39 in the morning. Then I do some research on everything the movie is about just to see that Sean Payton is stepping down in the news. Crazy timing! Great movie, great story.
Who is here after watching, “home team” on Netflix? Great story! Makes me want to hug my 8yr old son, unfortunately i’m thousands of miles away serving our country overseas. God bless to everyone!
For what it’s worth, the Kevin James movie on Netflix that’s about this is a light hearted and feel good movie. It’s not going to win any awards or anything but it has some Little Giants vibes
Good story. I was a LL coach for 14 yrs with all 3 of my boys. We experienced a lot together. Won multiple championships and had heartbreaker seasons…. Teaches you a lot about yourself, makes you want to be better! 👍
Looking back would you say coaching your son’s teams was worth it? My older son is 4 and finished his 1st sport season of basketball in December and as much as I wanna be involved in the team, it was kinda draining and i have those thoughts that I wish I could just work with him and just sit and watch at games and enjoy it
@@Haydini69 It was very taxing to say the least…. To be honest with you I was harder on my boys than all the rest. It took me awhile to figure it out but I had to back off from my own kids and have the other coaches handle them. I was to competitive to sit in the bleachers and I figured out that I loved the kids. All those yrs with everyone else’s kids taught me a lot about myself. Things that thought I didn’t have in me. I would say it’s not for everyone but be there with your children, they will never forget it. 👍
@@chrishenicke2052 that’s awesome man sounds like y’all had a lot of fun all those years. I played baseball my whole life so that’s the sport I know best so I’d probably be much better at coaching that. I don’t know much about basketball and the kids were all 4-6 so maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy it as much haha. He’s gonna play t ball in the spring and I was asked to help coach by the league so I’ll give it a shot. My dad was always at my games but I wished when I was younger he was apart of the team so I’d like to be there more for my son’s. Thanks for the advice
Lol not really. There’s only so much these kids can do. The schemes really only matter in the nfl, where all talent is equal. The kids aren’t going to be learning complex schemes, probably won’t learn anything the vast majority of 6th graders playing football don’t know anything, you keep it as simple as humanly possible or else they would make even more mistakes then they do with the simple stuff. It doesn’t help at all to have a better coach when he can’t implement any of his own stuff.
Even Payton said in this exact video his time as coach summed up to cutting oranges and getting water for the kids. That’s why they focus on conditioning so much, the better shape you’re in, the better talent will be the reason you win, your scheme will have little to nothing to do with it.
This shows you Can fix mistakes you made with your children..IF YOU TRULY WANT TO...and a forgiving child...I would say this was a God thing...Sean also had a smart ex wife who knew the best thing for her son..was to have a relationship with his own father...this is why God is against divorce..BUT IT TAKES TWO PEOPLE WHO WANT IT TO WORK...Some abusive relations are unfixable....this was wonderful..
I have told people Sean Payton is the best offensive coordinator in NFL history I've never seen a coach like Sean Payton Truly and as a fan I have learned a lot from The Great Sean Payton some folks have said he only have one Super Bowl win we know the true they have overly Penalize his team Bad-Calls and Terrible NO-Calls on the Saints
Single wing was our whole offensive scheme when I played pound football, but instead of different trap plays we'd run wedge block bellys and sweeps ... as we got older it became more advanced but man, from 65 lb all the way up to 135 lb we always ran that right/left formation 38/37 fullback belly baby
I don’t care what you say Danny O’Shea is still the greatest middle school football coach of all time. He pulled off the greatest upset in middle school football history.
I remember when Parcells coached the Cowboys . They went in to play Peyton Manning and the Colts. I thought Dallas had no chance but they took it to them that day. I heard later, but don't know if accurate, that Parcells literally coached the defense in the game planning phase that week to the point that the defense knew what the Colts were running pre snap, and they simply just had to be in the right place . Those Colts teams ran the same offense as the Bills teams that lost all those Superbowls. Remember, the Giants beat Buffalo in the Superbowl, led by Parcells. Later, The Saints beat the Colts in the Superbowl. I believe Parcells knew *exactly* how to beat that style of offense and it carried over to the Saints as well as the Patriots years later
Coaching and players have equal measure on the impact of games and seasons. We have seen the impact of poor coaching ruin a talented roster and great coaching getting the most out of inferior rosters. This reminds us of the opposite. You can have two super bowl winning coaches, one in the HoF, and still get pounded into the dirt by a superior roster running old school football. When you and your kids know what to do, and they just cannot do it.
this was a good story.. loved the movie it was made out of... some details was very comical, i never thought it was real (the scoreboard being shutdown is a major one)
Payton and those 6th graders well there is a big shake up in the NFL right now. Payton paved the way back in 2012 for the new seasons to come and the next decade. Payton's movie is on Netflix right now.
The movie is really good. Watched it a couple days ago thinking that itll be something to have on in the background while I did my homework, but I ended up being glued to my tv. lol
watch out porcupines, Payton is free and so is his new 6th grade qb, Brew Drees! 😂 and this time he's bringing Gregg Williams as DC and his style of play 😉
Sean payton- Calling Bill Parcels Hey Bill I Just cant figure out how to get these kids motivated what should i do? Bill- Do what you always to do coach get them what they want... Next day at practice new plan kids who ever breaks someones clavicle first wins a brand new ps5!
7th grader in 1970 and WE had a play called HIGH-LOW.. Ran it about 4 times a game.. A DT & LB would single out the best player on the other team and one would drop low behind him and the other would blast him over his back trying to take him out.. Often their best RB or TE.. He would call like 86 HIGH-LOW as the defense ran onto the field.. Punching the groin in the pile, blasting a player day dreaming not looking, THAT was the best.. Clothes lining was encouraged.. I don’t recognize the pussy game played now..
A NFL coach in his prime coaching a 6th grade football team. This is legendary. glad to see a movie is finally being made about.

Movie wasn't bad but it'd be nice to have a more serious movie that potrays everything that happened. This was 10% serious 90% trying to be a comedy.
@@mrjujuice5484 I agree. I like Kevin James, but he is the wrong actor to pull off a a serious movie.
@@rkf2746 you're wrong. Kevin is more than capable at playing a serious role. The film was meant to on the funny side, not the serious side.

He was actually ejected from the first game. Thats why he was coaching from the press box
