    My gun room needs an overhaul. Mine looked this good once.
    I started reloading shotgun shells with hand held press that used a hammer and a punch to deprime. That was in 1968. Now….Dillon 550 and a 1050.
    Reloading ammo is a great was to channel the natural DIY engineering skills possesses by all real Americans. Welcome to the community.

    You can get a window fan to put in to suck the hot air out. At one point they were about $30 I don't know what they cost now. I use one in my armory when I'm melting lead.

    I do have a question. Did you replace the door with something heavy duty and maybe add a deadbolt? Also do you have a set of actual freedom stick screwdriver bits (i.e. Wheeler)? Do not use the Craftsman screwdrivers on your Freedom Sticks.

    • @CrustyOldMarine
      @CrustyOldMarine  7 месяцев назад +1

    Hey Crusty, I noticed your bench sets on carpet. Do you have it bolted to the wall? Has it shifted / settled into the carpet since it was built? I've been struggling with the thought that the bench would have some settling and would have to be shimmed to bring it back to level. So, because of that "potential issue, I have not yet built mine. But you setup looks promising.

    • @CrustyOldMarine
      @CrustyOldMarine  7 месяцев назад

      Not bolted to the wall and no real settling. It's a very low pile carpet and the bench weighs a ton...lol. I like it so wellI (& neede more room) I built a 2nd one just like it. Thanks for watching !!

    How close to edge os the front t-track? Did you just route edges? Is there a little gap in front or is it just the t track by itself-thanks

    • @CrustyOldMarine
      @CrustyOldMarine  4 месяца назад

      Front T Track edge is flush with edge of bench. Rear one is 8" O.C. I did not route the groove. Measured the rear piece of top to requirements, screwed down rear t track. Set front one in place, checked measurement/spacing (was correct) screwed it into place then ripped middle plywood piece to fit.

    • @onesht1kl
      @onesht1kl 4 месяца назад +1

      @@CrustyOldMarine so I am using a 1.5” butcher top for my bench- I was worried that the front t track would not be braced enough-never used t track before and was wondering if there was a slight space-is the t track pretty much flush? Like it wouldn’t catch on stuff like clothing or such?

    • @CrustyOldMarine
      @CrustyOldMarine  4 месяца назад

      @@onesht1kl mine is flush. They Heavy Duty T track is 5/8" thick/deep. If you're using 1.5" Butcher blcok, routing a channel would be your best option

    Any issues with having carpet there? That’s one concern I have

    • @CrustyOldMarine
      @CrustyOldMarine  7 месяцев назад

      Not really, as long as I don't care if it gets a little messed up...lol Carpet is 25 years old, not a ton of previous traffic but, not a problem if it gets messed up. Once it does, I'll rip it our and put down hardwood. If you have carpet and want it to stay nice, might be a bit of an issue
