In my country the saying is “to buy a cat/rabbit in a bag” when you don’t know what to expect so, I guess Europe is full of these kind of sayings that just change the animal and it’s as good as new. It’s little bit funny because there is one English saying with a cat and a bag and the meaning is totally different - “cat is out of the bag”. Lol I love how language works. Thanks for the video ❤
Thank you for trying that Clarins lip oil. I was tempted and expecting more color/pigment - the Milani lip oils have more color!!! For less than half the price.
It has a version in most European languages (but most often a cat). The etymology is rather morbid. It refers to buying animal skin scraps (very popular among the non-nobility folks for most of the history, as you can use it to make gloves, hats, jackets, bags etc. - only the richest could afford furs and leather goods made of big pieces of animal skins). Since the scraps were small and you always needed multiple, they were put in bags to buy in bulks. If you bought them without checking the quality, there was a high chance of it containing a few good scraps on top and very bad ones otherwise. Hence the need to check it before buying. And yes, cats were very often used for that. They breed quick and have bigger litters (twice a year 2-6 kittens), and grow up fast (sexual maturity after 5-6 months). People were killing cats en masse to control their population. And so, their skins were a cheap and popular commodity.

As a super dry and sensitive skin girl I absolutely love the new Patrick Ta foundation. But I knew immediately I would never recommend it for someone with oily skin because of the finish and feel. It is light on the skin but very hydrating and doesn't have a full dry down so I just feel like that would be a disaster. Definitely think if you're dry though pickup a sample. It's my new HG and it's everything I've been looking for.
I agree with your take on ND- the longer she goes, the less I am interested. Except the yucca palette, I can't remember the last time I was into one of her launch... 🤷♀️
Thank you for the comparison swatches! This may be my first Natasha Denona palette, because I am light neutral with peach leaning undertones. Her other color stories have not been compelling to me. I do wish it had a better name - like “I Need a Latte” ☕️😆
I’m so glad you talked about undertones in foundations!! I have a warm undertone but I am fair to light. Warm foundations are too warm for me (with the undertone) and if I do cool undertones it looks gray! And sometimes another undertone looks pink
I still find it very difficult, too. I'm pale, but after being on this earth for 47 years, I'm still not quite sure about my undertone. Warm is wrong, looks way too yellow. Cool is also wrong, looks dead-ish or straight up pink. Olive is not quite right. I tried the light Olive from Smashbox, the 1.05, and it was wearable, but not great. So, that leaves me with neutrals. I buy my foundations in neutral undertones because those are the least 'off', but still, even then it's not always right. A lot of neutrals still look too yellow on me.
@@marielle7505 I feel you on the yellow undertones, they are my biggest complaint with foundation. I prefer cool foundations, but they seem hard to find, or at least, they don’t seem to be as commonplace. My BEST shade match ever is Fresco in Estée Lauder’s Double Wear, but I don’t use it on the daily on my 63-year-old skin.
I know Natasha’s latest palettes have been disappointing, but I like to think of this as her “neutral period “. Artists go through periods of exploration like Picasso’s blue period. We just have to wait it out until she gets it out of her system.
I 💯 agree with all of what you said. I think you saved me money by showing very well done swatches of all other ND brown palettes and i think the Biba palette is waaaaaaaayyy better (more versatile, range and depth) than i need a wawm palette. And i think the next 2 palettes that are truly different and suitable for my skintone are bronze and golden. So tysm for sharing your honest thoughts and opinions as always ❤🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
Ok so I was not considering this warm palette at all, HOWEVER, hearing you say its not that warm just neutral with some warmth. I think Im getting this at some point. Warms are always so orange on me, I think this is perfect for my skin tone if I ever do need a warm 😂
For me the INAW is perfect, her other truly warm palettes looked like they’d be too much on my fair neutral skintone. I did get it for my mua kit too, the tones look so pretty! I think the shimmers in I need a warm look better than the ones in I need a nude lol, which I also got. I tried them for the first time for my own channel and was loving the look but the multichrome definitely could be better haha. Just too spoiled by indie makeup! Thankfully I have tons of gorgeous multichromes and special sparkly indie shadows I’ll be pairing with these. But I guess those shimmers/satins will be perfect for my clients who don’t want that much sparkle on their eyes 😂 can’t relate though! Loved this video. I agree I’d love to see better multis from mainstream makeup brands. Literally nobody in my makeup artistry class knew about indie makeup so my goal as a MUA is going to be show as many people as possible the magic of indie brands❤❤
I am very tempted by the I need a warm, but I am convinced if I take shades from other palettes I already own, I can get close enough to duping it that I don't need to spend my money to get the looks I would do with it. I have the Viseart neutral mattes and Too Faced peachy mattes, and I think that should give me the mattes I need. Then, for shimmers, there are some peach shades in the Viseart Coy palette, the odd lighter bronze from the bronze palette, maybe some shades from the Sigma ambiance palette... Oh, and I have the ND mini Biba and Zendo, so yeah. I think I am set!
Actually I find the I need a warm palette interesting, because I think is a good warm palette for someone with cool undertones. And I think it makes sense for ND, since she have already several warm palettes for people with warm undertones. This brings something new to the table. At least for her brand.
I have a neutral-cool undertone and would never go for this. I Need a Nude shifts orange on me, and this is definitely warmer than that. The colors will not look this way on cool skin.
I agree. I have a cool undertone, and to me the I Need a Nude palette wasn't cool--it was solidly neutral, with a few cools... or, cool for people with warm undertones. I Need a Warm seems to be along similar lines, on the other side of the the temperature spectrum. I guarantee it will read warm on me, and anyone else with a cool undertone--but maybe not straight traffic cone (the Bronze palette? I could NEVER) which is what all those other "warm" palettes look like on my skin.
The eye look is gorgeous. I need a warm is right up my alley. I have a Mac nc 44 skin tone and this is a perfect neutral warm palette for me. I also have biba, glam, mini nude, glam face dark, I need a nude and golden. Bronze was too dark for my taste and the rest of them were too colorful for me. I know others are bored with the palettes nd has been coming out with lately but I am in eyeshadow heaven. I’m kinda confused about people who love color buying neutral palettes and then being upset about it unless you’re an influencer.
Thank you for saving me money, i was having the impression the ND Palette is actually not very warm leaning at least not even half the Palette but i thought at first my eyes can't see it clearly 😅. Is giving me " Going Coconuts " vibes .
I feel like this swatch comparison convinced me the ND Bronze pallete is very nice. This neutral "warm" pallete is so boring i can't remember what it looks like the moment i look away.
I am so pale that most warm pallets are too dark and cools don't look good on me. This pallet and the Golden are actually exciting for me. Though not enough to buy them 😊
I have ordered the Patrick Ta foundation and after seeing a lot of reviews lately from makeup lovers NOT loving this, I am crossing all my fingers this will work on my dry mature skin - I even bought two shades in this (bye bye money) I totally agree about the Morphe bronzer - I love this too, its sooooo much better than the Mario one - that was just invisible on me. You should also try the new blushes from Morphe - both the Huephoric Rush blushes and the Hot Shot blushes are GREAT! Together with the Lightform Foundation that I also adore - I must say Morphe has really stepped up their game in 2024! Love it!
I just ordered one of your blushes yesterday, and it's already on its way! Thank you for such amazing shipping ❤ I can't wait to wear the rhubarb shade!
I love your honest reviews!! I trust them fully. I love Natasha Denona’s quality, but it seems her latest palletes all look a like… some days I think I want one but I don’t know which one to choose out of the three haha. Last buys were her Yucca and Retro, they had something interesting and different!! But I think the not-collectors will fall for her basic and neutral palettes, it sells better… I am more into indie brands now, they are so much fun! But if I want a neutral or more toned done look I pick my ND palettes, always classy and elegant plus they don’t crease on my slightly hooded eyes and that’s a plus. I just hope she will come out with purples in the future😎
Food for thought Natasha Denona filed a patent for two new pallets February 2025. One is named Roxa palette. Roxa means purple or violet in other languages. Another influencer mentioned there was an empty space in Sephora. As if it was mistakenly put there maybe Natasha will come out with a purple violet, leaning eyeshadow palette soon. I totally hope so. I love love your look today! You look beautiful. And you make everything look so easy. Love your content!❤
I haven't seen it in person, but i have seen several videos now and I feel like it is more a neutral palette with peachy undertones...but I suppose I Need a Peachy Neutral has even less ring to it than I Need a Warm 😂.
I agree that it's definitely just a neutral. When I think of a "warm palette", I think of the palettes from 2016-2017 when everyone on the internet was obsessed with cranberry toned eyeshadow looks. Loved this video as always Angie! 💜
Wow Angie, those looks are amazing, you look stuuunnnning !!! That palette is really nice...I might just have to lol. And ya, I absolutely 100% match eye look to my clothing, I'm so on board with that!!
I love your blushes! I got the orange and pink. I wore the orange and I was surprised it looked so awesome on my fair cooler-toned skin. So easy to to apply and builds slowly! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
It's bad when Morphe is your favorite thing. Yeah the ND palette is good quality, but it's definitely not your color story. I'm interested in that Roxa palette that looks to be coming soon from ND. Hoping it's a purple and red palette mostly with a hit of neutral.
Loving your blushes! 😍 I can't wait to try them 💙 The only ND palette that I bought was the mini blue palette ... and even then, I prefer the CP Blue Moon or CB Winter Wonderland 😕
I'm still super interested in the Patrick Ta foundation but I'm very dry and mature skin. The ND Warm palette made me realize that "I need a nude" is the one I really need so I bought that one instead and it looks great on my pasty, fair, cool toned skin. The Fenty Lip liners might be a good fit for me, I find dryer lip liners don't even go on my lips for some reason and I just get frustrated
Hi Angelica, I agree with you regarding the Patrick Ta foundation it will not wear long in summer for me , I have oily skin, I love the ND palette, & the eyeshadow look that you created looks great on you especially teamed with your blush. Love Katherine xoxo
I love all of your advice/recommendations Angelica, but I have to say that I refuse to buy anything from Morphe because of the way they treat people they work with or that work for them. If profit margins mean THAT much more to you than the way you treat the people that help you attain profit margins, then I just can't support your brand. I did but your blush bundle and it is suppose to arrive today - I'm SO excited.
I'm wearing the mac concealer right now and I really like it! It's not heavy in my experience I think it's with the foundation you used. I don't find it luminous and I'm 43 and didn't set it.
The Fenty lip liners last all day but they are soft on application but don't mind at all, longevity is important to me. I swatched the Warm palette in Sephora and it looked pretty and I compared them to my Gold palette swatches. It's way too similar and not enough deep shades so sadly a pass. Geared towards light skin tones. Gold and Bronze is better on deep skin tones.
I got so excited when I thought you were pulling out a sparkly purplish black lip gloss! But of course it's basically clear with a hint of pink. 😩 They always trick us thinking it's going to be edgy and cool, and then it's literally the most tame shade ever! haha 😅
For fun I looked it up; The phrase “don't buy a pig in a poke” is an idiom that means to avoid accepting a deal or offer without first examining it. The phrase originated in the 1500s when merchants would sell piglets in sacks, or “pokes,” without the buyer seeing them first. When the buyer would open the sack at home, they would often find a less valuable animal, such as a chicken, duck, or goose, instead of a pig.
I have a feeling we’re gonna have a lot of eye rolling 🤭😃 Happy Monday everyone 🥳🥳🫶🫶 and hey, we have the same 🐷 saying in Finland, doesn’t make any sense lol 😆😆😆
Thank you for those comparisons with the other palettes, it helped a lot! For me the I need a nude one was way too cool for my skin tone, and the bronze one is very mid toned without a variety of lighter shades. So I do appreciate an option with more of a shade range in a neutral/warmer palette. I might get this one. Btw, in Hebrew it's a cat in a sack 😂 I wonder where they got that one as well haha
I know I don’t need a warm but I do love Natasha’s formulae. I have so many similar palettes and singles. I think the Patrick Ta foundation is too editorial. The highlighter duos had similar issues. Your blush is fantastic.
I think $58 dollars is too much for me for a foundation! I hate when they say that something glowy can blur. I thought blurring = matte or am I wrong? Got one of your blushes and the large makeup bag and I love them both!! The blush truly is beautiful and I just ordered another!
I think it depends on your skin type. I've found as I've aged, matte foundations settle in my fine lines and makes me look older. The dewy foundations look more "blurred" (which also isn't really a thing you can achieve with makeup.)
@@MissReneeMichelle Agreed. The older (and drier) I get, the more I desire a light, hydrating formula with a radiant finish. I can't hide my texture and matte formulas seem to make it more pronounced.
I’m still fighting off buying the I Need A Nude, because, number 1 - I have the Glam, and 2 - like I’m guessing 95% of people watching this video also have in common with me, I have a bazillion palettes I could be utilizing more before I buy another neutral one?? Luckily I gravitate towards cools and neutrals too, so that helps me to resist the warm one.
In America the saying is Buy A Pig In A Poke :) The I Need A Warm palette is for those of us who are are fair/light & like neutrals that lean slightly warm. Most ND palettes are too strong for me, either far too orange/red or too cool/ashy. So the new Golden & I Need A Warm palettes are softer, toned down versions for people like me with either lighter, softer coloring or who just prefer neutrals. Most of her palettes look midtone heavy to me & seem to lack very light, light shades or deep dark liner shades. They also have too many shades that are repetitious. It's why I don't buy her palettes (the cost seems high for a palette that is not absolutely perfect shade wise) I think many of her 15 pan palettes could easily be 9 pans. But that's just my take & I know people love her formulas which I have not tried
I think how you see color is so individual. I work with paint and pigments so anything yellow, orange or red is warm toned. Yes black and umber can mute or tone down a color but to me it is still warm. i need a warm is warmer to me than i need a nude.
Lol, thank you for wasting your money for us! 💜 I’m going to just stick with my About Face The Performer foundation when I feel the need for a wetter, more luminous base.
I wish ND had leaned into I Want a Warm, I Crave a Cool, I Love a Lilac, I Desire a Deep, etcetera.

I’m so glad you talked about undertones in foundations!! I have a warm undertone but I am fair to light. Warm foundations are too warm for me (with the undertone) and if I do cool undertones it looks gray! And sometimes another undertone looks pink
same. who decided ivory was pink?
@abbychuma4668 I agree with you 💯☺️
I know Natasha’s latest palettes have been disappointing, but I like to think of this as her “neutral period “.
For the price, that foundation should be flawless. Can’t believe it doesn’t dry, wtf!? I have that Morphe bronzer and blush and love them!
@@christinehottinger5791 I was going to say it looks very warm
I'm flying back home today to my Singe blush bundle arriving and I'm so excited for you Angie!!! Congratulations my friend❤
Is giving me " Going Coconuts " vibes .
whooop was just looking at my phone and thought, I hope Angies new vid is up soon. And as by magic I got the notification up 😊 Monday is saved ✌🏼😘
I agree. The nars foundation is so pretty and actually looks better as the day wears on, even on my mature skin
Yay! Morning coffee with Angelica!! ❤❤❤
I feel like this swatch comparison convinced me the ND Bronze pallete is very nice. This neutral "warm" pallete is so boring i can't remember what it looks like the moment i look away.
Totally agree with you on the ND warm pallet. I’ll skip the Fenty lipliners for that’s the opposite of what I like. 😊❤
I am so pale that most warm pallets are too dark and cools don't look good on me. This pallet and the Golden are actually exciting for me. Though not enough to buy them 😊
I can see cross over/similar shades in all the comparison palettes you showed us but not alot of them. I love the NJC Powder 😍❤
Love it!
I actually still love the Mario one though, the sheer bronzer is so pretty I think :)
Anxious about doctors appointment so thank you for brightening my mood, Angie :) btw, E04 blends eyeshadow itself!
Oh man, I hate appts of any kind, but afterward, I'm always a little proud of myself for going. Here's hoping it goes off without a hitch!
@@juliemorris6916 Appreciate you, Julie 💜
Sending a virtual hug, you got this!
@@AngelicaNyqvist Thank you so much! 🥺💜
Hope the appointment goes well!
I know you love your colors but neutrals and warms look absolutely stunning on you 😍🫡
Food for thought Natasha Denona filed a patent for two new pallets February 2025.
😂
I agree that it's definitely just a neutral. When I think of a "warm palette", I think of the palettes from 2016-2017 when everyone on the internet was obsessed with cranberry toned eyeshadow looks. Loved this video as always Angie! 💜
Wow Angie, those looks are amazing, you look stuuunnnning !!! That palette is really nice...I might just have to lol. And ya, I absolutely 100% match eye look to my clothing, I'm so on board with that!!
I have been hard this isn’t for me and then you make this STUNNING look ….whelp add to cart
Love this look so I just purchased this palette ❤
The side by side swatches are SO helpful! Thanks
I can't wait for the next ND pallet which is purple
Oooh! Where did you hear this?
Someone took pick of space Ulta is making at store with name of pallet name translates to purple
I thought it was to be called I need a Mauve?
As someone with light/medium olive skin and green eyes, that eyeshadow palette is EVERYTHING!! 😎✌🏼
I love today's look especially the lip!
I love your blushes! I got the orange and pink. I wore the orange and I was surprised it looked so awesome on my fair cooler-toned skin. So easy to to apply and builds slowly! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
yeaj, I am so happy you like them :D
The Yucca is still my favorite
Your blush is gorgeous!
I am waiting for the ND Roxa Palette to launch. It seems to be purple themed. 💜
I love black lipgloss! It's hard to come by sometimes. Too bad the Clarins one is pH adjusting. :'D Would love just a black gloss more.
We have the same "pig in the shack" saying in Greece! Who would have thought...
You always come through right when I need it most. ❤😊
You are my favorite makeup tuber.
I just love how real and beautiful you are at the same time. You never fail to make me laugh in your videos. ❤
I’m using your old favorite foundation today! ND
I'm wearing the mac concealer right now and I really like it! It's not heavy in my experience I think it's with the foundation you used. I don't find it luminous and I'm 43 and didn't set it.
on me it was sticky, I would not have been able to not set it, it felt like glue on me 🙈
The Fenty lip liners last all day but they are soft on application but don't mind at all, longevity is important to me. I swatched the Warm palette in Sephora and it looked pretty and I compared them to my Gold palette swatches. It's way too similar and not enough deep shades so sadly a pass. Geared towards light skin tones. Gold and Bronze is better on deep skin tones.
New subscriber, I love your vibe queen ❤ and your knowledge in makeup.
I got so excited when I thought you were pulling out a sparkly purplish black lip gloss! But of course it's basically clear with a hint of pink. 😩 They always trick us thinking it's going to be edgy and cool, and then it's literally the most tame shade ever! haha 😅
With these lashes, I'm guessing vieve smokey, the look is stunning! I would agree that you can create this eyelook with a lot of similar palettes.
I like the ponytail and your top 😊
The new ND palette should have been called I need a nudes and the I need a nudes should've been called I need a cool.
I love the palette and I’ll be getting it 😍
For fun I looked it up; The phrase “don't buy a pig in a poke” is an idiom that means to avoid accepting a deal or offer without first examining it.
Angelica Nyqvist, amazing content dude
I certainly will skip the foundation. Thanks for your honesty.
You actually are making me
Want “I need a warm”
Your nails remind me to the josy maran vibrancy argan oil concealer ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
In America the saying is Buy A Pig In A Poke :)
The I Need A Warm palette is for those of us who are are fair/light & like neutrals that lean slightly warm.
Absolutely! 💯I agree with everything you said❣
I think how you see color is so individual.
