Looks good. I am working on finishing up my third one of these but I finished up a 68 over a 2011 Challenger about a year and a half ago. There is a 45 video series on my channel where I show a lot of the issues you will run into. It is called " Don's 68 Charger body swap". I did my own car on an 06 SRT 8 and am currently 75 videos in on my biggest challenge on a Hellcat. Nice to see others doing this. It is very rewarding. Keep up the effort.
Just a tip if you have the spare cash // At both build you an I-Beam trolley with an [ electric ] chain hoist that can travel the width of your garage . You even go one step farther and put an H -Pattern 4x4 posts at 6 feet of travel front to back for caster travel for support . You would not believe all the uses and back saving you could get from an 600 dollar investment .
I have thought about doing a project like this also. I have a 1968 Charger 383 Magnum 4spd car but not sure if I want to cut it up to do this even though it is not a numbers matching car the entire body and floor are in really good rust free shape. This build will be great to follow.
I appreciate the support! I personally wouldn't cut up a good rust free charger body for a project like this. When I bought this charger it was really rough and purposely sought out a car in its condition with the intention of building a new frame/suspension for it.
Just so you know having worked with both the Charger which is 120 inch wheel base and the Challenger which is closer to the old car at 116 the best Charger to Charger swaps I have seen split the length by moving the rear wheel opening back some and then moving the front wheel opening forward. Wish there was a way to post pictures here of the ones I have seen done this way.
I did a little research before I started this project and found that the 68 charger has a wheel base of 117 inches and the 2007 AWD charger is 120. That was my plan on shifting each wheel well about 1.5 inches to make the wheels centered in the wheel base

I will definitely check that out when I get time, thank you
Steve's videos are awesome.
Steve is truly a highly skilled fabricator and does not cut any corners. {No pun intended).
Great progress there, I can begin to see the results. Good job.
Thanks, I appreciate that!

That would definitely make things easier but unfortunately that's not in the budget

@@dnacustoms Yeah I will probably look for another Mopar in worse shape structure wise and use that. Your build is awesome so keep with it!
@@VegasRT500 thank you for reconsidering and giving that old Mopar a chance
👍👍👍
Say, Buddy sit the body down over the back seats first an than pull it forward over the mid section of the car.👍
