Landed my first one, past month now I’m working on getting it on flat water (I learned with side chop) and my problem is consistency cause I only land 1/10 and the other nine as your last attempt…(I always push with the back hand) KEEP IT UP WILL🤝🏎
You're so close! It's great to see. Last winter & spring here in Florida when it's windy I was trying and managed to some shove its but my technique is all wrong. I'm gonna give it a proper go this winter when the wind comes back and use your videos as a reference for what to do and what not to do. One of my fears that holds me back from really sending it is landing on top of the sail. It's not a fear of injury but more a fear of putting a hole in the sail. But it looks like you never really had this problem.
Yep! get two cameras set up! as looks like it's good encouragement for you, and you're position & set up for the current camera is good for take off etc 👌 So then either get them to hold an arrow ➡ up to remind you mid air to look further round(upwind), or probs preferably get another camera or marker set up (further into the wind) so that you actually look at that camera/reference point AFTER take off/on landing! 🤙 Then you'll 'know' that you were looking or not, we all 'think' we're looking mid manoeuvre, you just need that 2nd marker/camera so you you can keep focus, otherwise you're lacking a reference point as to how far to REALLY look. 🙏
So close! What do you think is the reason your board didn't rotate fully on the last attempt? I have been struggling with this move for years. Saturday and Sunday is good forecast so I hope to get many attempts at shaka.
I think it's because I have most my weight on the tail of the board. If my weight was over the centre or further forward I think I would be able to get the full rotation.
Who's learning the Shaka?
