FlasherOfWangs Not just that, but you have to possess some modicum of intelligence to realize that reviews are opinionated. How anyone could be offended/angered by something like this is completely beyond me; I can't fathom it. I'm being really pretentious right now but it's true. This is what's wrong with entertainment today. Where games like CoD are the holy grail for FPS and Skyrim is the end-all/be-all of RPGs. I truly want to leave this planet lol
Guys, here we have someone who likes to think they're more mature than everyone because of the fact that everyone is proving "all the stereotypes about gamers are true". Don't act like Mr. Fucking Perfect. You've fucked up once in your life. You're not above anyone just because you avoided making one petty mistake. I honestly don't care about Arkham Knight. I just wanted to watch the review. Then I stroll on here to find elitist jerks putting themselves on a pedestal. Great.
I'm honestly shocked that people were disappointed with Arkham Knight. This game was exceptional in my opinion, and I beat Arkham City and Arkham Asylum multiple times. But opinions are like noses, everyone's got one.
+SPPSports i HATE batman, but i think these Arkham games are absolutely amazing. i love the progression with this series. i thought Asylum was sick.. til i played City.. til i played Origins.. til i played Knight haha
If it's worth anything (doubtful) I've done about 95 percent of the game and disagree with the review as a whole but this ass of a reviewer is right about the batmobile near the end- and about the Knights identity and scrarecrows story being predictable as hell- but a 7 is a definite no no
Just a reminder, these are the same people who gave Far Cry 4 a 7/10, Alien Isolation a 6/10, THE LAST OF US a 8/10 and they gave Call of Duty advanced Warfare a 9/10. It's obvious they get paid for giving a game a good review
The score doesn't even bother me. Tbh I've noticed this reviewer has a habit of airing personal gripes at length, letting them affect the score. Thing is, IGN's review mentioned more or less the same issues but not for so long. I admit, this reviewer complains about stuff I wouldn't be bothered by. And inevitably I will get this game no matter what. He's entitled to his opinion, but I can't agree with the amount of nitpicking he let affect the overall review. Score at the end of the day is whatever
JusticeSoulTuna The score of the game is determined by what you think it is :) Personally, I would give a game like The Last of Us a 7. But with that in mind, millions of others think it's a 10/10 game. That's the great thing about opinions. When I play through Arkham Knight, I'd hope it's a 10/10 for me.
GellyfishProductions Yes, because unwarranted scores are completely okay. Never mind that these personal gripes that have resulted in inane scores has been happening for years as it pertains to Gamespot...but fuck that shit.
Grand Theft Auto 5 while fun overall had mandatory, lackluster missions as well, and yet it gets a 9.0 while this gets a 7.0 for the same problem? Am I saying that GTA V should get a lower score? No, it shouldn't. In fact, I'm not even here to say Batman AK should have a higher score. I'm just here to say that Gamespot's scoring system is trash and should be ignored.
ghgtare No, I am not a fucking moron. I'm just pointing out how the scoring systems in these games are not well done. Pointing out the differences of the two games' scores in my first statement was to support my thesis which is that Gamespot's scoring system is very flawed. *P.S.* I am not here to start an argument. I am not hating on the video or you. I am just expressing my opinion just like how the reviewer did himself. So can we please not have a feud?
Cr0nosGold3n I am not butthurt. I didn't even dislike the video. In fact, everything that he said, I expected for this game. I expected that there would be too much Batmobile, and I expected it to not be loved as much as it's predecessor. But I just disagree with the score since games like Assassin's Creed Unity, a broken, unplayable game (at release) got the same score by Gamespot. I just find that unfair.
I think its the best batman arkham game they are telling people that you pass most of the time in a batmobile but thats incorrect. You pass 20% of the game in the batmobile and the batmobile is fun. They wanted to not always be the same and some times to be diferente. Thats why i love the game and rocksteady
Explosive Candy Though Skyward Sword wasn't the greatest Zelda game, people flipped out because Gamespot openly admit that they played the game wrong. Statements such as that combat could be won by just flinging the wiimote around, then go on saying how the combat is hard. It's like saying you could win Pokemon with just your starter, then complain how some gyms are impossible because their only pokemon can't pass gyms that it's weak towards. Is every Pokemon game going to get 10/10? No. But don't be complaining about issues that you yourself created and blame it on the game. That's why people freaked.
***** dude your pretty much holding your hands on your ears saying "because other reviewers gave this game high scores Means these Guys suck" and the hole "they are mad because they wanted this game to be good" pretty much shows why reviewers can't be honest because you'll rip their Hearts out if they give the games a low score
After playing the game, I actually agree with this review. The Batmobile was the game's biggest flaw. If it wasn't in the game, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.
Fergason wrsa is not just a shitty batmobile, a predictable cliche-filled story, a lack of innovation from previous games, and the recycling of the main map ...in fact the batmobile is the only new addition since detective mode has not changed, combat system has not changed and stealth sequences have not changes.... not even counting the pc port crap they released. I'm more puzzled by all the 9/10's and perfect scored it has gotten WTF...what world do we live in? so now a respected franchise can reuse the same aspects of the game over and over with minimal additions and get praise from everyone????? really???
elgranqenk2 I thought this game was an 8.5 as well. The Batmobile is great in certain set pieces when Batman is outnumbered in the city, but the overuse of it during a certain villains portion of the game is horrible. Plus gliding across the city actually takes less time than driving so I rarely use it when it's not forced on me. It's a fun game regardless, but I think Arkham City was slightly better.
Fergason wrsa it's not just the batmobile, it's also about the boss battles, i don't know why they didn't even mentioned it. if you expect to have a great and memorable boss battle like in the previous Arkham games especially Arkham Origins, you can forget about, there's literally none. you'll fight Arkham Knight but in the batmobile shooting at his tank. you don't even get a hand-to-hand combat with him. then you will get to meet Deathstroke and it's basically copy paste of Arkham Knight's tank battle. in Arkham Origins, you actually get to fight Firefly in fairly decent combat but in this game, you'll be chasing him again and again then just one takedown and he's KO'ed. suffice to say, Rocksteady was fucking lazy on attempting boss battles.
I used to not like this Vanord guy but I've realized that each con he lists about the games he reviews are actually cons that should be addressed and listed. I take back the way I felt about him. He deserves his place as reviewer.
edgarector Its opinions. The batmobile is out of place. The tank missions where you blow shit up isnt very batman like. Other reviewers said the same but didnt dock any points. So he has a valid argument. Also, who cares if he doesnt give it a 10/10.
crazysnipez5 every othe review mentions it but every other review didn't shave off 3 points because of that!kevin van ord is subjective here where he shouldn't be and he did all this for more clicks which is discusting!
crazysnipez5 So much tank. I havent beat it yet, i like it alot. But i don't think this is a 10/10 or even a 9. the thing is vanord was not going to give extra points just because its a Batman game which i like. Its called integrity.
This game deserves a 7/10, the Batmobile is like a massive anchor holding back the fun in this game. I get annoyed every time the game makes me use it because it controls like a bar of soap in the bottom of a bath, it's way too fast for how cramped Gotham's streets are and the tank battles are so long and boring. If the Batmobike was optional, something there for those who wish to use it, then I would only drop it to a 9/10 but how often you are forced to use it to advance the game is ridiculous so 7/10 is what I give it too.
Quick reminder to everyone: - You're allowed to have your opinion - Batman is not your religion or your mom, you don't have to be offended if someone thinks Arkham Knight is a 7 - This is GameSpot's opinion. If you can't deal with it in a reasonable manner, then Arkham Knight getting a 7 from GameSpot is the least of your concerns in life.
you know what gamespot i played the game for about 5 hours and their is too much batmobile every time their is a tank battle this is the first time you were ever right
carlos flores You must not like the batmobile. Im like 15 hours in and I don't think the batmobile is pushed. You barely have to use it in the main story. Every time I get in it, I enjoy it lots because its so unique. Its one of my favorite aspects of the game.
sergiorubalcava253 There is barely usage of the batmobile in the story. Im 80% through and it is a perfect balance. I have no complaints with this game.
What pisses me off is not that Gamespot gave this game a 7 but the fact that they've been fucking around with review scores for too long. They gave Dead Rising 3 a 3/10 but Rambo: The Video Game a 6/10. AC Unity which was a broken piece of shit also got a 7. They gave The Last of Us and COD:Ghosts and AW the same score of 8/10. They said one negative thing about GTA V and gave it a 9/10. You see where i'm going now? Also, people like TB and RTU need to stop kissing Gamespot's ass in this. The average gamer who hasn't played AK yet can still disagree with Gamespot's review if they think the score makes no sense like the ones i listed above. And I'm not hating on Gamespot. I actually like their reviews on most things. The only thing I disagree 99% of the time are their scores which are almost always dumb af. EDIT: I meant Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition, my bad =(
I stopped paying attention to reviewers' scores. Like rotten tomatoes, a 100% doesn't mean I'll love the movie, nor a 13% mean I'll hate it. I just listen to what's said. If I can see where they are going in broad strokes it's cool. I can see what he mean by the arkham series lacking innovation over three titles in. Not necessarily a bad thing. In the end, if you liked arkham city or origins, you'll probably like this game. End.
OMG its Ruthless I doubt TB and other youtube reviewers could care less about these reviewer sites, thinking what has been going on for past years. More about people just finally not caring about these reviews scores. Why do people even watch/read these if they seemingly already know what score they want the game to have?
***** Unreasonably harsh? lol He said the story was predictable and the Batmobile sections got old towards the end. Is your skin made out of rice paper?
Arkham Asylum will ALWAYS be the best in the series, more intimate feeling, boss fights were amazing, riddles were fun and easy so you could get back to the action. Game felt like a great crime thriller.
The downvoting proves that fanboys won't take any legitimate criticisms. And the 'too much batmobile' gripe is fair. It's very forced. One of the best things about the arkham series was gliding around the city, feeling cool as shit. But the batmobile tries to restrict that every chance it gets. Like the review said, the arkham knight reveal was predictable. And it's still a good game. That's why it got a 7. It's not a bad score and it's not a bad game. But how dare he give batman a 7/10 with legitimate gripes , right?
i would totally agree with you, arkham knight is Not a perfect game, but the thing is, the gamespot has also given a 7 to games like the amazing spiderman, so if you compare the Notes, arkham knight is in every Level better than amazing spiderman, and thats is why a 7 Here makes sense, not a 7 for me or for you but by gamespot.
You realize not all games given a 7 are completely equal, right? The whole point of the "10 number" rating system is to the consumer some kind of idea how good the game is. Otherwise, you'd see Gamepot and IGN rounding to the thousandth decimal or some shit. The reason why Amazing Spider-man and Arkham Knight are both 7 is because Gamespot isn't going to give one game a 7.0021 and the other a 7.6719
Yes, there is too much batmobile... But it is so well done, looks so badass and is so much fun I dont think is a bad thing. Were the batmobile a piece of crap that would be a pain to use Id agree. Trashing stuff, racing and persuing baddies in APCs, tank battles, it is not batman-like but is fun nonetheless. A true gamer can't deny that.
***** What? Do you actually think they did this review in base of E3 demos? they have what is called a review copy, is a fully released game only for reviewers.
Juan Amaya We all know there is something wrong when everybody gives this game a 9 and gamespot give it a 7 with bad arguments . It is good that they have a opinion but if a yearly cod scores higher than this game I don't get it.
Niels Groothedde I understand the COD problem, and his argument just sounds super subjective I know, but Gameinformer for example gave this game a 4/5 (which is great) and complained about the same thing. I don't know, I obviously going to buy this
He was right about the bat mobile though. The vehicle should optional unless there is a car chase sequence or something, or vehicle combat just don't shove it all the time, dont overused it cause it will really get tedious and boring.
Why is this guy always reviewing gamepsot big games? He always seem to hate on everything that he doesn't like even the small pieces of the game. Example "This rock is to bug I don't like it." Pathetic.
He's a reviewer. He has to say everything that is wrong with the game so the buyer can decide whether or not they want the game. If all they said were good things, the review wouldn't be helpful.
***** Maybe he honestly thought that there was too much bat mobile in this game and that the story really was predictable, it's more of beeing professional by telling smallest details, criteria is better than blindly only telling the good things, for example. If he didn't say anything about repetative gameplay or forcing using a car down your throat, someone would have bought the game and found out later that it REALLY was repetative and there was too much bat mobile objectives, that person would have lost his/her trust on GameSpot for not giving away some details, it's like watching review of AC unity where thers only told positive sides and not mentioning the frame rate drops
***** YET, he's probably given the most 10 out of 10 scores then the entire staff has with Metal Gear Solid IV and The Witcher 3 both gettting 10 out of 10 scores. The math would say that you're full of SHIT.
If there's 1 thing I've learned from mainstream reviews... it's DON'T LISTEN TO ANY MAINSTREAM REVIEWS. I don't think 1 reviewer in the past 5-6 years has given a review I can agree with on anything. Call of Duty for example. Mainstream reviewers hype the shit out of them every damn year saying how good they are, then when you get them you realize it's a Michael Bay style game with a cliche/boring story and lots of explosions. Not saying CoD is bad, just that it's a 6/10... not an 8/10 or above. It's a cheesy action game with cliche written all over it. It's fun, but nothing special. Arkham Knight is SPECIAL. At least in my opinion. It didn't have a prequel last year, or a prequel the year before the prequel, it's been 4 years since Arkham City, and I don't know about anyone else but I'm aching to unmask the Knight.
cybersunday07 Completely agree. Mainstream critics often just ride the casual gamer train with games like CoD and Fifa, which don't deserve the amount of hype they get. However, games like Batman and The Witcher *deserve* the hype these games get.
Have you forgot about Arkham Origins? In all honesty, this game doesn't seem like much of a difference when compared to Arkham City apart from visuals and the Batmobile.
Andrew Markus Actually no. The moment I realized Rocksteady weren't the ones behind the wheel, I decided to skip it. I don't do "prequels", especially prequels created by a company that wasn't behind the originals. It'd be like someone other than J.K Rowling writing a Harry Potter prequel. It don't work. And I ain't being a nitwit by buying it.
cybersunday07 BULLSHIT. Arkham fucking Origins was pinched out in record time when Rockstead didn't finish Arkham Knight fast enough for Warner Brothers, and they gave to inexperinced group of developers a game that they hadn't made before to put energy in a franchise that it didn't need, to take up as much money as possible. Not to mention, A) You haven't played the game and B) Gamespot is made up of multiple reviewers, not just one, and they all have different opinions and views. ALSO, how the hell can you say the game is special when you haven't played it and you haven't countered any of the points mentioned in the review. It's special, it grabs you gonads, it rocks your fucking world, but tell me this, what point did he say that you can prove wrong with actual gameplay. What did he say that was incorrect? Riddle me that shit.
After 100%ing Arkham Knight, I fully agree with this review score and that's generous considering I played on PC. The side quests were incredibly lazy, repetitive, and didn't feel rewarding. There were way too many forced Batmobile tank sequences that got stale and repetitive very quickly. On top of that, for some odd reason, the main villains (Arkham Knight and Scarecrow) are mostly behind the scenes and when you finally do confront them, you get lazy as hell, disappointing "boss battles." As for Arkham Knight, anyone who's even remotely followed the Batman lore can predict who he is. Anything above a 7 or 8 is just foolish.
Mineator Riddler boss battle was TERRIBLE and made me regret taking the time to gather up all of the trophies. It was essentially rehashing the same riddler-bots fights that you've already done with Catwoman with the only variation being a Titanfall Riddler who was beaten through QTEs. That's lazy.
9.5 from gameinformer, who's only "complaint" was basically, that the batmobile was a bit awkward at times. This review is ridiculous. Kevin apparently needs something to stick in his mouth to keep some of the bullshit from spewing out.
Nothing wrong with that. We had plenty of Batman Boss battles in the past and considering this is the only arkham game the batmobile has appeared in, it's nice that they gave it the spotlight for the main fights. Frankly, any batman battles will probably not come close to the Mr Freeze one.
***** I disagree. The batmobile never got boring for me. All through the game I just felt so bad ass roaming around and fucking shit up in it. There is an even amount of hand to hand combat and batmobile fights. Also, you get a new way to look at fights because you can control the batmobile remotely and it gives you a new way to fight.
I'm about halfway through the game, and the batmobile has definitely overstayed it's welcome for me. Not to mention it's fucking horrid on PC. Great game if you ignore the plethora of issues the port has , but I've got to say I agree with the 7/10.
The ultra short tacked on Harley and Red Hood DLC and the removal of challenge maps are also egrarious. Compare that with Arkham City, where Catwoman's missions were a highlight of the game and integral to the story . The boss fights are also a joke. Deathstroke, the master martial artist is relegated to sitting and shooting Batman from within a tank? Instead of proving his intelligence, the Riddler just resorts to brute force by send robots after Batman and fighting him in a Power Loader from Aliens? And of course Rocksteady continues the tradition of making Harley into a non threat joke and using Black Mask as a punching bag. (They seem to really hate Black Mask.) Arkham Origins gets crap for being a cash grab that wasn't done by Rocksteady. But it had the best writing (aside from the stupidity of Batman meeting every character for the first time on the same night), character designs, art direction, boss fights, challenge maps and a fun asymmetric multiplayer mode (which I originally thought would have been a bad idea.)
Yup. God, it's Bioshock 2 all over again. People hated that game just because Irrational didn't make it, even though it's arguably the best game in the series. It's more faithful to the gameplay of the previous Shock games than Infinite while still being a major improvement over Bioshock. The story was very good, it had weak points but also had strong, heart-warming moments and excellent characters. Many people called multiplayer tacked-on garbage, but it's actually very fun and manages to capture the tone of the Singleplayer in a multiplayer environment. It's the exact same with this; everyone has such a hard-on for Rocksteady that no one wants to admit another company came in and made a game that was better than one of their own.
Honestly I thought this game was a masterpiece. Truly a way of ending a trilogy. With how bat man is challenged mentally and physically, he has a lot of work to do. It was disappointing who the arkham knight was considering it was another persona of the same guy. But the way of detail and how important the batmobile was amazing. I'm just waiting to see the future of bat man in games. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamills performance was top notch. I'd personally give this game an unbiased score of 9.5/10
wow, 7/10? is the reviewer a hardcore marvel fan? even if it's not, I still finding it very hard about the argument that Batmobile is pretty boring . . .
not yet, but it's just a common sense. that argument is pretty much like ranting on GTA V for to much driving or COD for too much shooting, it's one of the basic gameplay feature (but it's new to the series) in the game. But then again everyone has their own opinion.
Croz Raven No it's not like driving in GTAV or shooting in CoD. What the reviewer means is that he doesn't like the fact that they force it upon you. That's like if GTAV forced you to only play in first person, or Advanced Warfare forced you to play with exo suits only.
This review honestly seemed really fair to me. Sad to see the dislike bar. I think there was too much batmobile. The controls aren't correct and it handles pretty poorly. Plus, it ruins a lot of potentially awesome boss battles. Come on, Deathstroke in a tank battle? That's stupid in so many ways.
I just beat this game, and this is one of the few fair review that doesn`t fall into the hype, or just giving away great scores to big name games. Great job gamespot.
7 out of 10 is fair ? It at least deserves 8.75 For two bad things and 7 ? For god's sake this game is pure gold and i'm not just talking i played it 4 times with new game +
Bruce Parker 7 out of ten is fair. The Arkham king was a disappointment. Death stroke was a disappointment. The bar mobile was annoying. 7 out of ten is being lenient
While the points In this review were valid, docking it so many points for too much batmobile, and predictable storyline (which varies from person to person) is a bit extreme. Ign gave it a 9 and polygon gave it a 10. These problems are clearly not big enough to detract from the overall experience.
Junda Mane I understand that, but I'm just expressing how I feel. This is some people's favorite game franchise and they want to see it praised. If it's getting knocked for no reason, anyone would naturally be a bit angry. That's just human nature.
Dunno about you, but having played all Arkham games I still thought Arkham Knight's the best. Batmobile padding aside, I thought the rest of its elements are very organic to me. The side missions, the narrative, and even the combat just flows organically with one another. Tried going back to the previous games, felt very dated and segmented. I'm looking at you - Arkham City.
Gamespots gives a 7/10 and people fucking loose their mind.Angry joe gives a 6/10 and almost everyone agrees.I think there are many hypocrites in this world.
I have been a Rocksteady arkham fan since day one. I'm telling you guys that this review is accurate and hurts me to say it. The story was bland which mad it not feel like an arkham game and like he said too much batmobile. 70% of the game took place behind the wheel. I'd you were a die hard fan of the original don't buy.
jonnymontana187 I beat the whole game and finished it 100% including every side mission and it is worth it, I loved the bat mobile and many people are complaining but I found it easy to control, the ending was in no way predictable ans no I am not talking about Scarecrow or Arkham knight, but the ending you get for beating the game 100%
All this sweet, sweet butthurt. The game is repetitive in certain places and is far from perfect, 7/10 is actually a good score for a review that hasn't been bought. Deal with it, people.
LivingLaserHD That's what happens when your franchise already has 4 games. If the only new gameplay element in the game is not that good (which in this case is the Batmobile), you can't expect it to get a higher score than this.
actually Gamespot review for this game is really spot on. the game is 70% of you in the batmobile. such a huge disappoitment for this game. not even one that has a very memorable boss battles. you want an awesome hand to hand combat in a boss battle? no fuck you, it's not in the game, you don't get to fight hand to hand combat with Arkham Knight nor Deathstroke, but you can fight them in a tank battle and it's basically copy paste for both.
***** Exactly! Arkham Origins introduces these great boss battles and all we do is have tank battles here. They tease and tease how Arkham Knight will be this formidable foe as he has the same abilities as Batman, but we never experience that firsthand.
Don't know how they can knock 30% off this game for the reasons they stated, this game doesn't deserve a 7 it deserves WAY higher, you can't rate this game below an 8 purely because of how well made the console version is, damn.
The consensus over at Steam is that this game is a steamy pile of turd. Freezes, performance issues, everyone is capped at 30 fps, and the batmobile IS in fact repetitive.. Thanks Gamespot. Your review was spot on. In fact, I think your 7/10 score was generous.
I hate how people always bring up the COD review. It just makes you look stupid. They are two very different games. Of course they will get different scores.
This game currently has a 35% rating on Steam based on thousands of ratings. Apparently the Batmobile sucks ass and game is overrated. I think Kevin VanOrd was actually right about giving this game a low score. Everyone who thumbs down this review are a bunch of brainwashed fanboys.
Pokemon-7/10 Too much water Batman-7/10 Too much Batmobile Although, I do not blame GameSpot for rating this game 7/10, too much of the Batmobile can get boring.
after all that hate, i have now played the game and this review is the most accurate yet... the tank battles and the story was horrible.. the rest was cool
I remember praying for the Batmobile to get destroyed at some point, while only halfway through the game’s story mode. The excessive use of it got to be that bad. It’s crazy how the most hyped and anticipated feature of Arkham Knight ended up being its most major flaw. Arkham Knight is to Arkham City, what The Dark Knight Rises was to the Dark Knight. A good successor, but not better.
So let me get this straight: Arkham Origins received a subpar score of 6/10, with one of the criticisms being that the world was bigger for the sake of being bigger, even though this is exactly what the world of GTA V was, yet there was no criticism aimed at it. What is even more baffling is that it was the same reviewer who reviewed those two games. However, the primary criticism of Origins was that it failed to innovate anything. Now we have Kevin bashing Arkham Knight for attempting to justify the brand-new feature of the Batmobile being added into the game. So, what? The game would've been better off without the addition of the Batmobile? Then he'd just say that the game didn't add anything new and failed to innovate. Granted, two different reviewers reviewed the games, but when GameSpot's site is collectively embodied by the opinions of its journalists, the stark dissonance and inconsistency between the reviews hampers the credibility of the site as a whole.
CinemaGrave Well gta v has an online, the map should be useful in it,keep in mind kevin vanord gave arkham city and asylum 9/10,he is a die hard batman fan,so maybe just maybe he is right, maybe.
How does the multiplayer component of GTA V directly correlate to the size of the game world? Almost half of the map in GTA V is just bland desert areas, while the city portion, which I'd wager almost everyone likes to spend their time in, is considerably smaller than Liberty City in GTA V. Regardless, the game's world was bigger just because it could be, without actually taking advantage of much of that space during main missions. And as I said, Kevin didn't review any of the previous Arkham games, just this one.
CinemaGrave Woah dude chill out, first of all gta v is still greatly detailed even by 2015 standards, and the world takes advantage for 3 different characters, the story is short, yes, but the space is diffenately needed to tell the story, lots of people have complained about the longevity of iv you know, and just riding a car and going to travel from point A to B is enough to keep the game enjoyable, and the game still offers things to do,and even more than the last game, there is lots of other open world games which felt very bland and it wasn't really useful at all. About the online,if you didn't notice, the big map is really useful for this game, there is lots to do in it,there is even big racing community for gta online, and i never said the map was big for gta online, but the map is useful for gta online. But anyway there is a big dlc coming up (i hopes so) for the sp And about kevin vanord,i think you are right,i just checked the last two games, and it wasn't him.
CinemaGrave And i'm not saying batman arkham knight suck or something,i still didn't play it,i said "maybe" he was right three times,it was even based in incorrect informations.
Mohamed Nabeel I'm not trying to bash GTA V at all - it's a great game, a solid 9/10 for me, and far better than GTA IV in almost every way. My issue with the game world was that the actual city part is way smaller than in GTA IV. Not that I mind a change in terrain, I don't, but a good portion of the map had lackluster desert regions that I reckon hardly anyone cares to venture out to.
If he finds the Batmobile bad on PS4, I wonder what he would think about it on PC, where it's (for many people) stuttering and dropping frames like crazy.
cesar diego yes he did, but unfortunately joe doesn t make alot of sense either by giving CoD AW a 7 after bashing the game for the entire review...same with his review of watchdogs, don t you agree?
If 7/10 is a bad review score, then clearly everyone's standards are too high. The Dark Knight has an average of 8.2, and that's considered to be the best thing to happen to Batman.
I can't believe people actually think a 7/10 is a bad score. This is just like when Gamespot gave Last of Us a 8/10. At the same time though, games like Assassins Creed Unity should not have gotten a 7/10 since the game was a broken buggy mess with micro transactions at launch. It's a shame a lot of reviewers and gamers just don't understand how to rate games. 4/10 and below is bad, 5/10 average, 6/10 decent, 7/10 good, 8/10 great, 9/10 incredible,10/10 masterpiece.
Even after playing more than 12 hours on the I still say fck gamespot. I nvr ever got bored of the batmobile even if the game shoved it so far the players ass. I actually enjoyed it. I admit it was hard to control at first but as I got used to it, it became awesome. drifting, ejecting, fckin donuts. it was fun mastering it, and if anything. made riddles that much intellectually hard. U needed to think out of the box big time. I understand wat they mean by bad bosses as there really wasn't any. They had awesome people were they could have awesome bosses. such as deathstroke, arkham knight, scarecrow. But they had pretty hard batmobile bosses that made me die 50 times (no lie) on hard. 9.5/10
Batmobile ruined my experience. So did the Arkham Knight reveal... Weak and uninteresting boss fights. I didn't feel the love for this like I did Asylum and City. Thought I'd come back here and agree with the score.
Still had best side missions story graphics and upgrade and dlc and suit. I know batmobile was soo much but not enough to make jokerparts not enjoyable
So... Evolve is better than Batman? AC: Unity got the same score?? GameSpot is so inconsistent with their reviews it's almost laughable. MetaCritic is the best place to get a solid score for a game. Right now it is at 91.
123doomdoom The reviewer reviewed the game and gave it a 7, it´s his job and he can score it however he pleases. If you like the game more than the reviewer does, well that´s your cash well spent.
H8 the b8 m8. It's str8, but didn't make me ir8, and I still can't w8 to sink hundreds of hours into this game right outta the g8. So the b8's ok, but I can only r8 it 4/8. Or 1/8 if I work for gamespot.
Oh I agree there's to much batmobile they just took off to many points. That being said it's not unexpected from game spot the guys who gave the last of us an 8 while they turned around and gave advanced warfare a 9. So I'm less mad and more disappointed. But to each their own.
AcedXXI The PC Version has terrible scores because it had a terrible port. If you hadn't heard about it Rocksteady decided to outsource the porting to PC of this game to a really small studio that fucked up badly. The game itself it's not bad at all.
you know what? I agree with gamespot here. not only is it that there's too much batmobile, its that the game forces you to use it constantly, never trying anything new. you hardly fight any of your rouges gallery unlike the other arkham games. there isn't even a final boss! its just one long fanservice segment. they hype scarecrow so much but do you fight him? no. well what about the dlc missions you ask. well, here's a thing that grinds my gears. ITS THREE BATMOBILE MISSIONS. my god, i was hoping they'd mix things up a bit, have one batmobile mission, one stealth mission and one combat mission. *sigh*
You fanboys are ridiculous.. A batmobile should only be in a Batman game as a mode if transportation or the occasional shooting..but to have it as big part of gameplay is right out wrong..shooting a bunch of drones and running around doing puzzles is trash and annoying ...pretty sure they could have found other ways to introduce content ,instead of forcing you to do those redundant chores. Definitely out game of the year. So its between Bloodborne, fallout , Wtcher and metal gear. Sorry fanboys
Ultimate PooLicker Witcher 3 is not cookie cutter like this game. You actually have to craft, explore, use your inventory ..in batman you just press the counter button and is win
Too much batmobile is right. The new gimmick should've been adding people to city and them reacting to batman and car limited to getting around and maybe 5 chase sequences. Also don't recycle any animations like explosive and silent takedowns. The drone tank sequences suck
As much as I enjoyed this game and as much as I adore the entire series, I agree with all of what you said. This game was allllllll over the place in terms of story (it was enjoyable tho) and the Batmobile was super boring after a short amount of time.
There's no doubt that the Arkham series is one of the best game trilogies ever but I do agree with this review. The Batmobile should be a mode of transportation (and occasionally used for Riddler stuff), not a 12th gadget. It felt way overused, overhyped, and kind of out of place (battlemode). Combat was the best it has ever been and the predator situations were equally as good (enemies adapt to what moves and techniques you are using). Battlemode was interesting but got old fast. Side missions were very interesting, different, and fun. They introduced new villains and also brought back old ones. Gliding throughout Gotham was so amazing and it was worth the wait. The main story fell a bit flat in my opinion because it was advertised wrong. It was advertised as ALL the villains work together to take down the Batman. It was more, ALL the villains have side missions that are not intertwined while Scarecrow and Arkham Knight (who by the way was predictable and fell flat) were the two main guys. Kind of disappointing. (MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW) Now, the complaints. A main complaint is that half an hour into the game Scarecrows hyped up toxin bomb is deactivated. In fact, that whole toxin part was kind of confusing. Other complaints about the Battlemode and Arkham Knight have already been talked about. My final complaint is the ending. To be completely honest, it was shit. It felt like the end to the Dark Knight Trilogy and it crushed gamers dreams of getting to see Batman get a happy ending (maybe a cutscene of him with a family). Instead, we see him get unmasked and in the knightfall protocol ending, he blows up his house and supposedly dies. I don't think any of us wanted that to happen. Summary Great Combat, Stealth Missions, Side missions, And Characters. Driving The Batmobile Was Also Cool. Predictable Moments, Over Use Of Battlemode, Kind Of Confusing Main Story, And A Throw Away Ending (DLC So Far Has Also Been Very Short And Kind Of Not Worth It In My Opinion) Improves Upon The Good Elements In Arkham Asylum And City But Doesn't Really Do Much For Itself. After Playing Through The Game, You Are Going To Remember Dual Play, Beautiful City, Driving, And The Negatives That I Listed. I love the Arkham games and even with the negatives, this game is definitely worth buying. It was beautiful and interesting. I would give this a 7/10 because of the over reliance on the Batmobile, the 2 main villains, and trash ending.
People on here are missing the point people who dislike this review are disliking it because Gamespot has no consistency with their scores how do give you Batman Arkham Knight the same score you gave assassin's creed unity a impossible poor never been fixed game
I don't understand the reason behind so many down votes. Batman: Arkham Knight is one of the best games that I have ever played. Its graphics, combat system and story are absolutely fantastic. It doesn't deserve so much criticisms.
People are saying that you had to use the bat mobile almost the whole game, whoever is saying that is wrong. I play the main campaign and 100% completed the game in 21 hrs, and I only used the bat mobile for 3 hours out of 21 hours.
Razor Blazor It deserved a 7 because the main new feature of the game is not that good. And the returning gameplay is good, but since it's the 4th game in the series, it's almost certain to get repetitive. Just play the game before you start hating reviews of a game you havent played yet.
Back in the day I thought this review was complete blasphemy, but now... I 100% agree with him. This is not a worthy sequel, in story nor gameplay (mostly). Sure the game looks beautiful (possibly one of the best looking games I’ve ever seen!) and the combat and stealth encounters are as satisfying as ever. But the story is weak and predictable, side missions are repetitive and mostly underwhelming, and the bat mobile... Dear god. Like he said, they tried to find a way to justify the batmobile, but it’s sorely backfired. Don’t get me wrong I still love this game, but it’s definitely the worst in the series for me. Let’s hope the next game that either Rocksteady or WB Montreal brings out will be worth it
I can't help but notice people who complain about the batmobile tend to be utterly awful at using it. Arkham Knight is IMO one of the best games of this console generation, It baffles me how people say there has been no progression since the last game. Seriously go and play City again, the combat feels so sluggish in comparison to Knight, AK perfected the fundamentals. It has the best story of the trilogy (so many memorable moments, quotes and characters), the best Scarecrow performance to date, Joker probably has more screen time than in any other Arkham Game, his running commentary is glorious. Don't get me wrong I love the stealth of previous Arkham games but it would make no sense contextually for Batman to be stealthy in this game, the enemy has completely taken over Gotham in a very aggressive/authoritarian manner, so Batman responds in kind. I mean if you're going to complain about a lack of stealth here, then the same could be said for City. This game displayed to me that Rocksteady have a real understanding of what makes the Batman universe so great, the gothic architecture, the neon light night, the dark humour, one man changing the circumstances through sheer will power. It might just be my favourite Arkham game. 9.5/10
Good job, everyone. Way to perpetuate all those negative stereotypes about gamers' maturity and civility.
What? That gamers are fat and live in their mothers basement?
117MasterSpartan No that gamers can't take negative opinions about games they like... especially when its a game that no one has played yet.
FlasherOfWangs exactly. They can't handle criticism
Great.
I don't think having a tank mode was really the problem, the problem is that you had to use it the whole game :(
Yeah, but they worked hard on the bat mobile, it would be a waste if you aren't forced to use it
+Biniam Gaming They shouldn't force you to do anything :) Maybe put it in as a possible way to complete a mission.
no it wouldnt
What? Tank Battle are fun! They dont stress me out as the predator challengues.
Thats bulshit
"Too much Batmobile. 7.0/10" - GameSpot
Too much water
Lord Ramsay Snow Bastard of the Dreadfort too much water on the batmobile.
Hollywood Kojima you can say that the game is better then a 7/10 until you,ve played the game. then again i am not defending gamespot
mark rozing I hope the reviewer is wrong. I hope. If he's not however... I don't want to think about that :(
OhGodOhWhy you and me both brother :)
If you like Batman, you'll love this game. Period.
I had no issues with the Batmobile. It's a matter of preference.
I'm honestly shocked that people were disappointed with Arkham Knight. This game was exceptional in my opinion, and I beat Arkham City and Arkham Asylum multiple times. But opinions are like noses, everyone's got one.
+SPPSports And I agree with your opinion.
You'll still enjoy this game even if you don't know anything about Batman.
+SPPSports i HATE batman, but i think these Arkham games are absolutely amazing. i love the progression with this series. i thought Asylum was sick.. til i played City.. til i played Origins.. til i played Knight haha
Never thought id hear "to much batmobile" in my lifetime. unsub
Pissing "grammar-nazis" off is fun😆
geovannii krstec *too
geovannii krstec here's a tissue dork.
Repetitive tank combat sections that last for hours is fun? Lmfao good riddance dumbass.
Etoile go make your own fucking game then. My comment was on that spacific phrase not the game.
Why so many down votes.. none of you have even played the game yet.. I can't believe people actually get offended over review scores..
1.21 Gigawatts Batman fanboys
ahsan nawab Ever heard of a paid promotion ?! A 7 out of ten seems honest to me
ahsan nawab what does it matter what most reviewers gave?
If it's worth anything (doubtful) I've done about 95 percent of the game and disagree with the review as a whole but this ass of a reviewer is right about the batmobile near the end- and about the Knights identity and scrarecrows story being predictable as hell- but a 7 is a definite no no
FoolsNeedButter I think Batman fanboys would've been satisfied with a 7.5
Go home Gamespot, you're drunk.
Rumors say Destiny's Taken King will get a 9/10 from Gamespot. RoFL
Astriator What the fuck are you talking about? 'rumors say' Are you okay?
RedLightning007 go outside dork. You're a loser
RedLightning007 Nah its just Kevin ,He's a sadistic fuck.He likes it whe nhe gets death threats and stones thrown at his face.
RedLightning007 Just because your parents are dead doesn't mean you get to act out batman.
You guys seriously cannot take criticism. A 7/10 is a solid score you know? This review has valid complaints.
are you downvoting because this guy is honest about what he thinks? i don't get the downvotes.
nyanfish if you think this guy is honest then it's really the first time you are watching a gamespot review!
edgarector what fucking reason does he have not to be honest?
He gave cod AW a 9 and the last of us a 8
Rick Teixeira turns out thats how opinions work, some people like different games more then others.
Daniel Springs that make no fucking sense, if you think its not okay to have your own opinion you must be braindead.
Just a reminder, these are the same people who gave Far Cry 4 a 7/10, Alien Isolation a 6/10, THE LAST OF US a 8/10 and they gave Call of Duty advanced Warfare a 9/10. It's obvious they get paid for giving a game a good review
pyramidhead13579 & the witcher 3 a 10
They also gave cod ghosts an 8/10
pyramidhead13579 Didn't they give bioshock infinite like a 6 and then later changed it? Pretty sure they did.
pyramidhead13579 OPINIONS AHHHHHHHH PLEASE DON'T HAVE DIFFERENT ONES
pyramidhead13579 7 is an accurate score for Farcry 4. Farcry 3 was much better.
JusticeSoulTuna The score of the game is determined by what you think it is :)
Personally, I would give a game like The Last of Us a 7. But with that in mind, millions of others think it's a 10/10 game. That's the great thing about opinions. When I play through Arkham Knight, I'd hope it's a 10/10 for me.
try hard fan Exactly. Opinions are a double edged sword.
JusticeSoulTuna A reviewer letting personal feelings for the game affect his score? Oh god, the horror....
GellyfishProductions Yes, because unwarranted scores are completely okay. Never mind that these personal gripes that have resulted in inane scores has been happening for years as it pertains to Gamespot...but fuck that shit.
Eric Dixon You haven't even PLAYED the game. How can you assess what is unwarranted and what is not?
Well then it's the best 7/10 game I've ever played.
It doesnt deserve a 7 not even close
@@dontknowbud no it deserves an 9/10
A 7 huh? *grabs popcorn*
Original comment you got there brainfart.
Brianstorm Lmao, the first thing I thought when I saw the likes and dislikes.
Seeing the likes and dislike bar is a spoiler to how the review went and how people felt about he review.
Brianstorm I knew batmobile would be a forced gimmick and hurt the game. called it from the beginning
DemiBejita you got that right
That moment when u remember The Last of Us review
Abdel Estrada Yep
Last of us is overrated
Last of us ain't overrated just cause people talk about it and it got 10s doesn't mean it's overrated it deserved those scores
I don't think the AI was bad
ThePandaSupreme the Last of us AI was great if not a little predictable, but so are real people.
I'm just here to say that Gamespot's scoring system is trash and should be ignored.
williamssekai butthurt
ishaq mohamed then people will be butthurt over the letters
ghgtare No, I am not a fucking moron.
I just find that unfair.
williamssekai Did you play the game?
Having actually played through the game now, it's hard to disagree with this review
I think its the best batman arkham game they are telling people that you pass most of the time in a batmobile but thats incorrect. You pass 20% of the game in the batmobile and the batmobile is fun. They wanted to not always be the same and some times to be diferente.
Thats why i love the game and rocksteady
Yep, this is why I'm subscribed to Gamespot instead of IGN. They don't randomly fling out 8's and 9's just on the merit of being a triple A game.
Reminds me of their skyward sword review. Fans flipped the fuck out, but their arguments were sound
MrRodax It is sad that all that people want from reviews nowadays it seems, is just validation of their own opinion.
Exactly. The guy never said the game sucked, it was just flawed. Yeah it seems there's no hint of intelligence in anything...anywhere....anymore. Sigh
Case in point.
Daniel Springs Why would you hurt my feelings like that?
Explosive Candy Though Skyward Sword wasn't the greatest Zelda game, people flipped out because Gamespot openly admit that they played the game wrong. Statements such as that combat could be won by just flinging the wiimote around, then go on saying how the combat is hard.
It's like saying you could win Pokemon with just your starter, then complain how some gyms are impossible because their only pokemon can't pass gyms that it's weak towards. Is every Pokemon game going to get 10/10? No. But don't be complaining about issues that you yourself created and blame it on the game. That's why people freaked.
7/10 Too much Batmobile
You agree? Or...?
Ethan Radd The've turned into IGN, lol
Ethan Radd It sounds like a joke but that's literally what the review says.
Gawillamon In addition to a few other criticisms that you people are failing to mention.
Does that deserve -3 points for a shitty batmobile? COD Ghost was awful in almost every aspect and got a 8
Fergason wrsa To be fair, Batmobile missions are like 1/3 of the game, so it's pretty annoying sometimes. I would've given it a 8.5/10, though.
Gavin McCree really?are you serious!?that guy is a joke!
edgarector Its opinions. The batmobile is out of place. The tank missions where you blow shit up isnt very batman like. Other reviewers said the same but didnt dock any points. So he has a valid argument. Also, who cares if he doesnt give it a 10/10.
crazysnipez5 every othe review mentions it but every other review didn't shave off 3 points because of that!kevin van ord is subjective here where he shouldn't be and he did all this for more clicks which is discusting!
edgarector after playing and winning. The friggin tank is everywhere.
crazysnipez5 So much tank.
Quick reminder to everyone:
- You're allowed to have your opinion
- Batman is not your religion or your mom, you don't have to be offended if someone thinks Arkham Knight is a 7
- This is GameSpot's opinion. If you can't deal with it in a reasonable manner, then Arkham Knight getting a 7 from GameSpot is the least of your concerns in life.
you know what gamespot i played the game for about 5 hours and their is too much batmobile every time their is a tank battle this is the first time you were ever right
carlos flores They always had good points to share, even though they fuck up in some cases.
carlos flores You must not like the batmobile.
NVA the cobra tanks are annoying
carlos flores Ok you got me, I do think those things are poorly designed.
EDIT: I meant Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition, my bad =(
OMG its Ruthless dead rising 3 a 3/10!!!!????really???!!!
OMG its Ruthless TLOU got an 8 from them?! Idiots. That was a masterpiece
Ha origins was garbage dont compare that game to asylum and city bro
Guys this is nothing new, gamespot have always been unreasonably harsh with reviews.
That's not true. Check out their Gears of War 3 review, Mortal Kombat review, Skyrim review and many, many others.
***** Then why are you here....?
It's just this guy Kevin he is terrible at reviews lol
Zachary Bean Reviewer isn't supposed to give high scores, he's supposed to speak his opinion and that's what Kevin does.
The reason why Amazing Spider-man and Arkham Knight are both 7 is because Gamespot isn't going to give one game a 7.0021 and the other a 7.6719
There is too much batmobile in the main story but not in the whole game if you take side quests and ar challenges into consideration
Why people get so upset is beyond me, because none of you have actually played all the entire game.
I don't know, I obviously going to buy this
I'm going to buy it also . Have a great time playing !!! Next week
All other places gave it a 9/10 and above yet gamespot gave cod ghosts an 8/10 and that game sucks
He was right about the bat mobile though. The vehicle should optional unless there is a car chase sequence or something, or vehicle combat just don't shove it all the time, dont overused it cause it will really get tedious and boring.
Gamers, I think we owe Kevin VanOrd an apology... lol
1:13 "There's no beating the incredible rush of using your line launcher to fling yourself through the sky."
.... "Line launcher".
I get his point that it seems that Rocksteady tries to force us to use the Batmobile but still 7/10 is still an insult for an otherwise great game
Especialy as the only complain seems to be that we are forced to use the Batmobile. If other wise it s as good as City the it should get at leat an 8
Can t wait to play it finaly
Oh wow a great game? How do you know? Based on marketing? Cause the games but out yet.
Yann Franck how do you know it's a great game? Based on marketing? The games not out yet so don't say its great till you actually play it.
Based on experience with the studio making it
Why is this guy always reviewing gamepsot big games? He always seem to hate on everything that he doesn't like even the small pieces of the game. Example "This rock is to bug I don't like it." Pathetic.
*big
***** This same guy gave The Witcher 3 a 10/10, three fucking weeks ago! Consider your point, officially invalid.
I thought Origins was really good, but I do believe they played it too safe. Knight seems like it's completely reinventing the franchise, though.
cybersunday07 BULLSHIT.
My only problem with this review is that the reviewer didn't do enough to elaborate why he was deducting 3 points.
Cherry Pauper How about the riddler?
Mineator
Riddler boss battle was TERRIBLE and made me regret taking the time to gather up all of the trophies. It was essentially rehashing the same riddler-bots fights that you've already done with Catwoman with the only variation being a Titanfall Riddler who was beaten through QTEs. That's lazy.
Hi Cherry ! XD
pixel 😂the fact that your only argument is “but the riddler boss was good” shows how bad the bosses in this game were
10/10 polygon ( hardly give any game 10/10) , 9.2 from ign, and 7 from gamespot? because of tank feels out of place???i dont understand????
3 different reviewers , 3 different opinions.
7 is a good game, so just chill
4/5 - Gamesradar.
The Fox I wouldn't say polygon is especially trustworthy with their reviews
9.5 from gameinformer, who's only "complaint" was basically, that the batmobile was a bit awkward at times. This review is ridiculous. Kevin apparently needs something to stick in his mouth to keep some of the bullshit from spewing out.
'Too much batmobile'
This complaint is worse than 'Too much water'
***** Yet all but one boss battle is in the damn batmobile.
***** Alright, I'll agree that the deathstroke one was lazy, easy and disappointing, but apart from that it was fine.
jagmarky c But the is the final Batman game so they gonna have the big bosses and Batman can't punch a big boss. He have to blow up!
Maybe the game just simply isn't that good? Too many fanboys crying and they haven't even played the game yet
***** i can agree with that
Bill Beis Mass Effect excited me more than Fallout at e3. That's where the hype should be.
***** Batman really might not be that good deal with it dont attack others people games because you feel insecure about your game
Son Escorza Batman has a 91 on metacritic. I agree. Don't attack another game cuz you're butthurt but people take this one review too seriously.
***** Oh no someone has a opinion! Quick look at his profile picture, he loves fallout so we must demoralize him and prove our point!
(They seem to really hate Black Mask.)
Arkham Origins gets crap for being a cash grab that wasn't done by Rocksteady.
I'd personally give this game an unbiased score of 9.5/10
wow, 7/10? is the reviewer a hardcore marvel fan? even if it's not, I still finding it very hard about the argument that Batmobile is pretty boring . . .
Croz Raven I'm a marvel fan, and I enjoy the Arkham games.
Asher V it hasn't came out yet
not yet, but it's just a common sense. that argument is pretty much like ranting on GTA V for to much driving or COD for too much shooting, it's one of the basic gameplay feature (but it's new to the series) in the game.

It at least deserves 8.75
For two bad things and 7 ? For god's sake this game is pure gold and i'm not just talking i played it 4 times with new game +
Bruce Parker 7 out of ten is fair. The Arkham king was a disappointment. Death stroke was a disappointment. The bar mobile was annoying. 7 out of ten is being lenient
While the points In this review were valid, docking it so many points for too much batmobile, and predictable storyline (which varies from person to person) is a bit extreme. Ign gave it a 9 and polygon gave it a 10. These problems are clearly not big enough to detract from the overall experience.
But it did impact him
Junda Mane I understand that, but I'm just expressing how I feel. This is some people's favorite game franchise and they want to see it praised. If it's getting knocked for no reason, anyone would naturally be a bit angry. That's just human nature.
TheTinyTimmyTimTim Tetris is perfect, no problems in it whatsoever, and I would give it a 7.
Singularity different category of games.what you would give an MMO 10 for, you'd give a shooter a 6 for.
Singularity different category of games.what you would give an MMO 10 for, you'd give a shooter a 6 for.
Matthew's Lounge TOTALLY agree!
Gamespots gives a 7/10 and people fucking loose their mind.Angry joe gives a 6/10 and almost everyone agrees.I think there are many hypocrites in this world.
Lol
+ChuckVirus *joker meme*
I have been a Rocksteady arkham fan since day one. I'm telling you guys that this review is accurate and hurts me to say it. The story was bland which mad it not feel like an arkham game and like he said too much batmobile. 70% of the game took place behind the wheel. I'd you were a die hard fan of the original don't buy.
Somebody go watch Arkham City Review
Yeah it's up to u if u like world of tanks
jonnymontana187 I beat the whole game and finished it 100% including every side mission and it is worth it, I loved the bat mobile and many people are complaining but I found it easy to control, the ending was in no way predictable ans no I am not talking about Scarecrow or Arkham knight, but the ending you get for beating the game 100%
WHAT are you talking about Ihal Gaming It's an opinion so ?????
jordan davis I just said in my opinion it wasn't overdone.
This is the same reviewer that gave Evolve 8/10 and said it was worth the $60 on release
drunkeneagle HAHA This kevin is a nerd
I don't understand, isn't 7 a good score?
Kaelan O'Neill Game reviewers use the "Any game below an 8 is shit" scale nowadays.
Kaelan O'Neill For this game yeah, it's lucky to get a 7. Every reviewer who gives it a 9 or 10 is just getting paid off.
All this sweet, sweet butthurt. The game is repetitive in certain places and is far from perfect, 7/10 is actually a good score for a review that hasn't been bought. Deal with it, people.
Despite being that for being considered good, it's very low for an Arkham game
LivingLaserHD for an batman game? Stfu so if the game was complete shit you would defend it because it is an arkham game?
LivingLaserHD That's what happens when your franchise already has 4 games. If the only new gameplay element in the game is not that good (which in this case is the Batmobile), you can't expect it to get a higher score than this.
TheGhost325 wow, someone pissed off, your mommy not breast feed you today so you have to rage at other people? awww
LivingLaserHD Um no. Just getting tired of the annoying, spoiled brats that make up the gaming industry
actually Gamespot review for this game is really spot on. the game is 70% of you in the batmobile. such a huge disappoitment for this game. not even one that has a very memorable boss battles. you want an awesome hand to hand combat in a boss battle? no fuck you, it's not in the game, you don't get to fight hand to hand combat with Arkham Knight nor Deathstroke, but you can fight them in a tank battle and it's basically copy paste for both.
A huge fan of the arkham games but man this game was such a big disappointment.
I hate how people always bring up the COD review. It just makes you look stupid. They are two very different games. Of course they will get different scores.
Raymond Felton Except this game is way better than cod...
They are two VERY different games
Raymond Felton I know, and this game is better...
It's like comparing a Michael Moore documentary to a Cooking game
If I say Madden 15 is better than God Of War I would seem like an idiot.
This game currently has a 35% rating on Steam based on thousands of ratings. Apparently the Batmobile sucks ass and game is overrated. I think Kevin VanOrd was actually right about giving this game a low score. Everyone who thumbs down this review are a bunch of brainwashed fanboys.
Why are people giving Game Spot crap. LOL seriously you guys are delusional if you think this game is worth 60 dollars.
Pokemon-7/10 Too much water
Batman-7/10 Too much Batmobile
Although, I do not blame GameSpot for rating this game 7/10, too much of the Batmobile can get boring.
after all that hate, i have now played the game and this review is the most accurate yet... the tank battles and the story was horrible.. the rest was cool
Story : awesome
Side missions : amazing
World : nice
Dlcs : great
Upgrades : nice
Jumpscares : cool
Batmobile : only too much
Bruce Parker you rlly thought the deathstoke side mission was amazing?😂
One of my favorite Batman games.. next to Arkham City.
Did this guy...just spoil Man-Bat?...
***** It did say "May contain Spoilers" in the beginning, jerk.
But not the one you neee
For fucks sake gamespot, if rocksteady wanted us to know this shit they would have told us
This game in my opinion is at least a 9
I think that rocksteady were trying to make up for 2 games with being able to drive the batmobeale sorry for the spelling
So let me get this straight:
Arkham Origins received a subpar score of 6/10, with one of the criticisms being that the world was bigger for the sake of being bigger, even though this is exactly what the world of GTA V was, yet there was no criticism aimed at it.
But anyway there is a big dlc coming up (i hopes so) for the sp
And about kevin vanord,i think you are right,i just checked the last two games, and it wasn't him.
CinemaGrave And i'm not saying batman arkham knight suck or something,i still didn't play it,i said "maybe" he was right three times,it was even based in incorrect informations.
Mohamed Nabeel
I'm not trying to bash GTA V at all - it's a great game, a solid 9/10 for me, and far better than GTA IV in almost every way.
So? Angry Joe give it a 6/10 plus 4/10 on shitty ass PC. And IGN..... Well they just care about $$$$$
cesar diego IGN gives scores out based on popularity. They know that if they were honest, they'd get backlash like on this video.
cesar diego Angry Joe give good reviews only for games that have prequels that he liked
Holeson36
Your comment makes no sense. Joe liked Asylum, City, and Origins which are all prequels to Knight, but he gave Knight a shitty score.
Only because it was shity on pc, like he did on Battlefield 4 even though he liked Battlefield 3.
This is not a measure to rate a game.
cesar diego yes he did, but unfortunately joe doesn t make alot of sense either by giving CoD AW a 7 after bashing the game for the entire review...same with his review of watchdogs, don t you agree?
7 out of 10 is a good score. I don't see the problem.
Nah theres no problem its the same to say that outlast is not a horror game
Now I definitely like this video after playing this game on a PC.
If 7/10 is a bad review score, then clearly everyone's standards are too high. The Dark Knight has an average of 8.2, and that's considered to be the best thing to happen to Batman.
It is bad because this game is a masterpice.
Is the same thing to say that outlast is not a horror game
Bruce Parker you rlly think the death strike boss was “the best side missions”
I have played A bit of the game now, and I most say that the ting about "forced batmobile" is true :/
So... Evolve is better than Batman? AC: Unity got the same score?? GameSpot is so inconsistent with their reviews it's almost laughable.
MetaCritic is the best place to get a solid score for a game. Right now it is at 91.
Why are people mad? Who cares about the score, the reviewer has done a fantastic job reviewing the game
123doomdoom The reviewer reviewed the game and gave it a 7, it´s his job and he can score it however he pleases. If you like the game more than the reviewer does, well that´s your cash well spent.
Macaco Macabra I know, a review is just someone's opinion on the game, doesn't mean you'll enjoy it less or more, oh well :(
H8 the b8 m8. It's str8, but didn't make me ir8, and I still can't w8 to sink hundreds of hours into this game right outta the g8. So the b8's ok, but I can only r8 it 4/8.
Or 1/8 if I work for gamespot.
Requ1escat1nPACE I fucking h8 people like you.
All you cry babies getting mad at this review before even playing the game. I've finally completed and yes I agree "Too much batmobile".
Oh I agree there's to much batmobile they just took off to many points. That being said it's not unexpected from game spot the guys who gave the last of us an 8 while they turned around and gave advanced warfare a 9. So I'm less mad and more disappointed. But to each their own.
Sam the Pony Man yeah it was harsh, but there are more things wrong with this game than too much batmobile.
Funny how this review is even higher than what this game is currently rated on Steam.
The PC port is just utterly horrible.
Jhonn H Witcher is boring af
Ultimate PooLicker You haven't even played the game yet!
streetz86 I own the game hardly play it
Ultimate PooLicker Witcher 3 is not cookie cutter like this game. You actually have to craft, explore, use your inventory ..in batman you just press the counter button and is win
Jhonn H Post a Batman vid where all u do is hit counter button to win would love to see u try
He was right about the batmobile over staying it's welcome.
20% of the game is the batmobile
(MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW)
Now, the complaints.
Summary
Great Combat, Stealth Missions, Side missions, And Characters. Driving The Batmobile Was Also Cool.
Predictable Moments, Over Use Of Battlemode, Kind Of Confusing Main Story, And A Throw Away Ending (DLC So Far Has Also Been Very Short And Kind Of Not Worth It In My Opinion)
Improves Upon The Good Elements In Arkham Asylum And City But Doesn't Really Do Much For Itself.
Kevin you need help
People on here are missing the point people who dislike this review are disliking it because Gamespot has no consistency with their scores how do give you Batman Arkham Knight the same score you gave assassin's creed unity a impossible poor never been fixed game
Yes the batmobile sucks,and yes it deserves a 7 or a 7.5!
Im so dissapointed >:(
How did this game even get a 7????? It deserves more like a 4/10 because of how incredibly bad it is on the PC.
Sounds like an honest review to me. Apparently people are too used to reviewers gloating about a game and ignoring a game's flaws.
"Too much rain" - gamespot
Honestly when looking at the trailers and demos I always thought the tank looked stupid. Still looks like a great game though
BLVCK LORD BEATS and so we meet again....
BLVCK LORD BEATS this game dope as hell bruh no lie im really enjoying it
Long Live└A Oh shit you got it? I've been on the fence about buying it with my cheap ass.
BLVCK LORD BEATS hell yea bruh copped that shit for the xbox one
Long Live└A fuck it I'm gon cop it tomorrow, why not
I don't understand the reason behind so many down votes. Batman: Arkham Knight is one of the best games that I have ever played. Its graphics, combat system and story are absolutely fantastic. It doesn't deserve so much criticisms.
***** Congratulations! Your stupid comment has earned you a massive BLOCK from me!

Mr. Goat has come here to make unnecessary comment. LOL!
Graphics is not a thing to consider.
PPSSPP Android Gaming yes it is
Steam version is getting slammed in reviews right now.
People are saying that you had to use the bat mobile almost the whole game, whoever is saying that is wrong. I play the main campaign and 100% completed the game in 21 hrs, and I only used the bat mobile for 3 hours out of 21 hours.
Gamespot...you guys are biased as fuck and gave no factual reasons for why this deserves only a 7. I give your review a 2/10.
Razor Blazor more like -2/10
That'd because reviews are subjective. There is rarely any objective elements to them, assuming the game runs properly.
Razor Blazor It deserved a 7 because the main new feature of the game is not that good. And the returning gameplay is good, but since it's the 4th game in the series, it's almost certain to get repetitive. Just play the game before you start hating reviews of a game you havent played yet.
0/10
Razor Blazor Did you just skip to the score? He explained why it got the score it did!? Am I taking crazy pills?
This game will get 9/10 not 7
Back in the day I thought this review was complete blasphemy, but now...
Let’s hope the next game that either Rocksteady or WB Montreal brings out will be worth it
What about Orgins? And Arkham knight should at least got a 8.9.
Gamespot: figuring out who the arkham knight is is very easy and predictable
