  • Roger Wolford sits down with Bonnie Gibson and talk about making gourd dust. They discuss Bonnie's gourd carvings and the tools she uses. Also, about the American Gourd Society and the benefits of membership. This is 1.5 hours great carving conversation and knowledge. Hope you enjoy! ‪@rfwolford‬

Wow, how WONDERFUL, I love this type of craftsmanship, when we are inventing or creating, we forget about our surroundings, creating is something restorative, we are another person. Thank you so much for it.

Thank you Bonnie and Roger. This is a great discussion. I still have over 100 gourds and quit the art over five years ago because the gourd dust and mold made me sick. I did then buy a respirator and fan but didn't get back to it. I won some blue ribbons in a few art shows and won second place in the Gourd Magazine one month. I loved the many different things you can do with gourds, like carving, painting, woodburning, colored pencils, dyes and I tried them all. I have some of Bonnie's packets and after watching this, I feel moved to look at her new ones. Perhaps you have motivated me to try again. Love your work Bonnie.

Very informative. Definitely going to have to watch again to take notes! Bonnie Gibson's work is amazing! I wish I could just go around and strap Go Pros to the heads of Master Artists like Bonnie! lol They might not appreciate it though. :) Great interview Roger.

By far the very best interview! Learned more than any other tutorial/interview/showcase! You are both very great at sharing! I am going to the florida gourd fest in a few weeks (first one) and I am so excited!!!
I currently make pine needle baskets and am mixing the weaving with gourds.
    THANK YOU BOTH

Thanks for that interview. This was my first exposure to gourds. I'm gonna focus on eggs until I learn them, then maybe gourds.
