I asked the love of my life to marry me 33 years ago, she said yes, but we were young and foolish and lost each other, and she moved out of state. NOW, 3 decades later, I meet her AGAIN on Facebook. We email, and talk on the phone, and the love is blossoming again. We finally meet face to face for lunch. During the 6 HOUR LUNCH, there is a long silent moment, followed by "THE KISS". The kiss of a lifetime, I knew then she would be my wife. Took me 24 more days to ask her for her hand, and she said YES. After 3 decades, our dream has finally come true.
Steve awesome story. I was married to same fella for 30 years, we divorced around 20 years ago. We reconnected as well, been dating for over 2 years now, love is even stronger than it ever was. Add 2 mature and smarter people and it equals success! PS True love never dies, does it?
Saw several shows of this tour with my ex when we were newlyweds in 1991. Went through an awful divorce. Finally friends again. Recently saw him and he was singing this song. Had to smile.
I saw them in 1991 in Raleigh, NC when they were on this tour. They were in a little hole in the wall that held maybe 300 people. Absolutely the best band I've ever see
Daryl !!!!! Still hot as ever , love those guys !!!! I grew up to their music in my teens and early 20s , you sound awesome , keep playing and I will always listen to the music.
The greatest duo artist I have ever had the pleasure of listening to in my life . . . regaurdless if they play together I always remember them together . . .
Grew up listening to these guys. Me and a buddy of mine use to pretend we were hall n oates in the back of his grandma's lil corner store.... Awesome times and memories.... Listened to this song after both my divorces....
I love how they sound together....Hall & Oates is one of the greatest bands ever, who cares if their cover of this song isn't the best? There's much worst covers of other songs to worry about.
John is definitely the man, you should listen to songs like How Does it Feel to back, possession obsession, italian girls, keep on pushin love, and their cover of Youve lost that Lovin' feeling!
WoW!!!! I kinda like this version better. Never heard it before... Thanks for posting it, even though I never liked these guys..You might have made me change my mind about them..
How I regret lending and losing my cassette copy of their performance of this ballad at The Simple Truth concert: I agree wholeheartedly with lesliehancock and littlevoice214
does anyone know who had a hit with this song in about 1977? i think it was an r&b band. i love hall and oates so much. in the 80's i had the most wicked crush on daryl hall. my friend loved john. beautiful old days.
I'm not sure if you mean bsd as the slang or if you are saying that it is not a good song. John led on numerous songs throughout the years, but is certainlt not the caliber of Daryl.

No it doesn't. True love lives forever...

So how are you doing? Well I hope.
Awesome!!!!

I've loved DHJO since I was a VERY little girl in the early 70's, but "Change of Season" remains my favorite album. Good stuff.
The original to this song was great. This is also a solid cover. Hall and Oates were a great duo!

I would love the chance to start all over again with my ex-girlfriend and this time I would'nt make the same mistakes that caused us to break up.
I would love the chance to start over with my ex-girlfriend,she is and will always be the love of my life, miss you honey.
I wonder what does it take to qualify for him? Tall? 6'2" 128lbs😘
Actually, Mel & Tim sang the original.
Johnnie Taylor did this beautiful song first and he did it the best .
@wallflower419 maneater wasn't a hit?
brenda lee?
Mel and Tim have nothing to worry about what the fuc was that
Mel and Tim version was better
Why not listen to the real thing and discover that this "attempt" is worthless...Is it really so difficult to leave good songs in peace...???!!!
