This is too sad. I almost cried the first time I saw this video last night, and I never even knew him. He sounds like he was a sweet good man, and very well loved by everybidy. I bet that Daryl was not only grieving the loss of his friend T-Bone, but also, who could fill his shoes?
this was written for sarah allens sister who sadly passed away from cancer, sarah allen was daryls long time lover,he wrote sarahs smile for her,the two sisters wrote songs with daryl on some of hall and oats biggest tracks,i hope she is looking down on us and enjoying this classic like all the other millions who have heard it
I don't think there could ever be anybody like him to take his place. He was one of a kind. I really miss watching how intense he got when he played. He was truly amazing to watch. Love this version of the song. Thanks for posting. R.I.P. T-Bone.
Superb track that just does not get enough airplay from anywhere........ H & O quality still shines through beyond all the garbage we have to listen to .....
New version of this song on LFDH with Joe Walsh 11-2012. This one is pretty special though. RIP T-Bone, you were such an important ingredient in the magic.
Love this version & the collaboration with Jimmy Wayne & Daryl Hall on LFDH. Always brings tears to my eyes. IMO, Daryl does not get the credit he deserves of being an incredible musician not only as part of Hall & Oates but also as a solo artist. Good music stands the test of time. The music he has made does that. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift. RIP TBone. ❤🙏🏼
A really beautiful version of this song. I love Daryl's voice even more now than when he was younger. He's got even more heart and soul and his signature vocal adlibs make his songs unforgettable. "Three Hearts" was a great album. Thanks again.
WOW, Phil Watson, what a beautifully made video tribute, to the late, oh so great, T-Bone Wolke! This song is just AMAZING! Love it, thanks for sharing.
damn...this is good...never heard this version b4...again...where is the TIME MACHINE when we need one...BACK TO THE 80'S (and early 90's) very early 90,s
@mancmuso1-- I remember way back in the early 70's when these guys were on 'Soul Train'. After they played 'Sara Smile'(a song that had heavy airplay on black radio) Don Cornelius asked them to introduce themselves. When Don got to Tom-he said, " T-Bone Wolk!" Cornelius looked at him with this puzzled expression-then said, "T-BONE ???" Everyone laughed!! I was just a kid but I never forgot that. This man left his mark with some of the most classic basslines in pop history!! R I P T- BONE
Love this song.....the version from Live From Daryls House is my fav...but, this is a close second ! Too bad you cant get that version here, Thanx for posting!!
I loved Hall & Oats when I was a teen thru my twenties then I rediscovered Daryl Hall's music about 10 years ago & can't believe how emotional, sensual, beautiful his music is. Listening with older, mature ears seems different in some way but just as special & beautiful! LOCK-IN DARYL!
Excellent tribute to a huge talent. Much "cleaner" than Daryl's solo album version - if Daryl does have a Happy Ending Machine, we all need to go to his house, immediately.
It was thanks to you Philly that I knew about Hall & Oates Dear Dear as with many other contemporary singers, rockers, jazzy composers, etc. that were out of my watching/listening circle thanks to your own videos plus likes & very faves You've been a kindest mentor for me and everyone that enjoys your music during all these years, my heartfelt appreciation, Mr Philip Watson, thank YOU
I love this version of the song. Nothing like the original version. Love Hall & Oates, saw them once. Wouldn't mind having the opportunity to see them again.
I love DH & JO, their music has been a significant soundtrack through my life since I discovered them back in the mid 1970's, and they still provide sustenance for my body mind and soul. Love their melodies, harmonies, arrangements, Ever Superb Showmen and musicians brilliant bands..
This is simply the best version of this song ..is it available as a download anywhere? I need this song in my car when i am driving the back roads...simply wonderful. THANKS for posting!
Hi Dana, I'm not sure where it was recorded but it was a VH1 special and I think the CD is still available. It touched me too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VH1_Behind_the_Music:_The_Daryl_Hall_and_John_Oates_Collection
It is thank to you Dear Dear Mr. Philip Watson that I knew of the Philly' moods (amongst many other artists that then were unknown to me, am talking of course about nine years back, yes long long ago) something true and real I shall always be sensibly appreciative of, infinitely indebted to your sharings into then mere yt, nowadays G+yt platform indeed. I love this song. His voice is so smooth.
“Real artists making real music.” People who had the talent, the passion and the ability to create something worth listening too.

Actually, Ozzy this song was originally released in 1986 on Daryl's "Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine" CD. Janna died in 1993.
@@jonsimon5779 i have the album but not played it for a while
I think he rereleased it in honor of jenna allen when she passed away.

You're missed.
Who is T bone? Is it a dog? Is it strange that I now apply these songs to the loss of my dog..?
Simply the best. Like no other!!

They one of the greatest no fake sound the real thing
Sweet!
They did an acoustic version of this song at the end of their episode of Vh1 Behind the Music back in the late 90's anyone know where I can find it
This is from the Behind the Music, or at least the companion recording that came with the episode.
Memories ... Banner Chicago 2017 🀄💘💟✌
Daryl's house live version with Joe Walsh also excellent in its' own way!
What is this version from? A CD? It's not the original recording.
Elena Schmitt I was wondering the same?!
