My goodness, I love you two. I love how the two of you collaborate, how you borrow each others' supplies without too many qualms, and how adventurous both of you are in the supplies you use! I feel like I've been able to experiment more myself, too, just watching you two; right now I'm in a lineart phase, and when Adam posted his sassy Link on Instagram, I ended up replying with my drawing of Twinrova! The way you two share your art journey, I feel like I can join you without shame, even if I feel like I'm not as skilled in many areas as compared to the two of you. (I have trouble loosening up - I'm heavy handed too Adam!) Also - SO EXCITED FOR THAT GOUACHE! I'm glad that you opted to invest in a medium you're so passionate about, Steph! I've been playing around with mediums for a while, and in the grand scheme of things, I've stuck with lower-priced items just because it's what I can afford. I'm already pretty free with my art splurges (though I try to keep them to a minimum), but someday, I hope I can find something to be just as passionate about, and start getting artist-quality tools. For now though, it's about quantity and variety, so I've got some (dying) Copics, watercolors, inks, colored pencils . . . and what high quality I do have, I get for Christmas or special occasions. Though again, I probably should try to restrain myself. Like that will happen anytime soon. I am rambling so much. XD But it's awesome to see you two each week. I've watched your videos over and over again and I have to admit, I wouldn't be at the place I am now if not for your channel and the work you two do. So . . . thank you! Rounds of applause!
Gahhhh the Holbein gouaches are so tempting every time I'm on Amazon haha! I saw a buddy of mine using a tan sketchbook the other day, looks really cool with the white highlights , white pencil shows up well on it aswell!
I ordered the Holbein gouaches, but it's been nearly two weeks now! And I've tried emailing them but no response... they look like quality paints but I'm not sure what's happening with the company!
the water brush you had an issue with, you don't need an art syringe, you can take the black plug out and fill it like a pentel aquash. just need to put it back in before screwing the brush back on. though taking the plug out in the first place was a bit of a pain for me so I always stick with pentel aquash brushes
I think its funny that bayleejae and simply nailogical always complain about cat hairs everywhere and Adam and Steph only complain about steph's hair being everywhere
do you guys have a p.o.box or something? I'm a manager for a michaels arts and crafts and always get really good discounts on art supplies and freebies here and there and would love to send them to you since I usually accumulate a ton.
I've been using the kuretaki watercolours for a while now and they are really nice and the lid really does help when you have the 36 set and an entire row looks black in the pans. (Congrats on finally getting that pink gouache! )
Hey Steph- regarding your ProMarker that doesn't have a colour label on the cap, you can easily make your own with a sticky label. My old Letraset ProMarkers didn't have any end stickers, so I bought a pack of round stickers and coloured them all in. They work quite well, also because I found that it was a better representation of the colour than what the barrel looks like.
I've seen all of your videos. I watched all of them the day I found your channel. I love them so much! You guys are so adorable and make me so happy that it physically hurts to have to wait a week for a new video.
I have the same kuretake water brushes and i had the same problem but I found you can actually just pop the black lids off if you get your nail or something under them it's easy enough 😊
Oooohhh! I always love seeing videos from you guys! This haul looked fun, a lot of different mediums that all look so pretty and interesting to use. :D
I've subscribed to a couple art channels but i think your's is my favorite! its like having buddy's who share a common interest, so thank you for making such great videos!
both of you have inspired me to draw again. I stopped drawing because I thought I wasnt good, but both of you help me to start drawing again. Thank you
I'm currently obsessed with Tan Toned paper. My BF got me one for Christmas. I love the way color pops against the brown, especially my Prismacolor pencils!
+MacabreWeb I know I already commented but I had more to say after the video! I totally understand how you feel about art supplies. I mostly watercolor, but I still use student grade things, I use Reeves and Sakura Koi watercolors. They do what I need them to, I know there is better stuff but I feel like I'm not -there- yet, though sometimes the better supply DOES make the difference. My Prismacolors is the most expensive thing *I* bought myself and I got the 78 set for $60, which was still a lot to me but after seeing how good they blend in comparison to childrens colored pencils I couldn't resist. The quality makes so much difference, especially since they can be used on colored paper (like my tan toned) and it actually shows up! I love the gouache set you got, its so vibrant and thats what I want in my artwork, vibrancy! I love art supply hauls. It's so much fun to see what treasures people pick out. :D
Hi! Not sure if you've figured it out by now but with the waterbrushes, you can remove that black top if you want to fill with a pipette. They have that black topper to control the flow AND if space is an issue, you can unscrew the brush from the body and store it without the water spilling out (unless squeezed). Also, just wanted to let you guys know that Gansai paints are a different designation of paints than watercolors, similar but not the same. Anyways, love your videos! Watching you tell us about products is like a really good ad because it makes me want all of them. Companies REALLY need to send you guys free stuff to pimp out on your page lol!
Oh and try putting water in a cup and squeeze by holding it upside down with the tip submerged. Then take it out, squeeze out the air and re-submerge. Really quick to fill this way.
lovely art supplies, I love watching your videos! I now have art supply envy! have you guys ever made/considered making a video about the art of books you have? I'd really enjoy watching those.
Another lovely video..brilliant as always. I really must delve into some Disney stuff as I have done in the past (many, many years ago) and you're so right about their art books being the best. Thanks for the heads-up!😻
Ohhhh, art books are the best!! My personal favorites are the Art of Big Hero 6 and the art of both How to Train Your Dragon books. They're so inspirational!
It's cool to see that you like deep pan palettes for watercolour I kinda just use a flat plate because I can tell what the colour will look like on paper that way
Hey, Steph! I have similar waterpaint brushes, and I fill it up by having a container of water (or ink), squeezing the bit that holds the water, then putting it in the glass and letting go. Just a suggestion :)! Love you guys!
With the kuratake brush pens you can remove the little black part for filling it up and then you can put it back after, its the same kinda stopper that they put on the koi Ones so its Easy to remove and put back👍😊
for filling up the waterbrushes, I usually take the black cap off, fill it, then put it back on. the opening is then big enough for a pipette and I haven't had any trouble with leaking when reassembling it and it's relatively easy to take the cap off and back on. hope this helps!
Like steph said, you do need to put a piece of scrap paper behind the page to prevent bleeding onto the other pages, but I'm totally fine with it because I have one of my own. Plus, it's nice paper it doesn't bleed as much as a lot of other sketchbooks. It's pretty thick. It's at the point where it nots too thin and not to thick. The paper is nice and smooth. Also, when I layer a lot of marker (like pro markers, brush markers, copics, etc.) it doesn't eat up the paper like most sketchbooks do. Although the Moleskine is one of the greatest quality sketch books, it doesn't matter what type of sketch book to have. You can draw on copy paper all the way to high quality paper. I'm not saying in order like copy paper then good paper then great paper then awesome paper then amazing paper, I'm just saying you can work with pretty much any type of paper. I always used copy paper before I got a moleskin, and to be honest, I don't even need a moleskin. Nobody does. You can, like I said, work...
Oh man, I love doodling with those Bic biros! They're nice to just do some messy drawings with I find :) you guys should totally do a biro challenge Btw Steph, if you're looking for a flat waterbrush, Derwent also do one (although I think they may come in packs of three only, which isn't so bad as the fine tipped brush in that set is also good) I loved Zootopia so much
I've had the zootopia/tropolis book on my wishlist to buy! Thanks for showing some of the pages its nice to see whats inside before purchasing a book. :D
Wow that gouache is BEAUTIFUL! I have never used it myself. I just have the "Liquitex Basics" and "cheep!" acrylic paints. I lie the liquitex paints better than the "cheep!" ones, but cheep! has some really bright colours. I'm kind of learning how to use them, and how to use other mediums too.
I love you guys so much and I just wanna say about 4 months ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I needed to get my mind off all the sadness and all ur videos always make me smile and laugh and ur vids give me faith that everything is going to be alright. thanks for being so amazing and I love you both. I cant thank you enough. love you guys a lot😳😳😳💚💞💝💘💗💖💕💔💓💜
You both do such amazing art and with Adam being color blind I just have so much more respect for you guys its so amazing how amazing you guys are no matter what it's just so impressive and so amazing!
Not been through all the comments so it may have been mentioned but the black valve on the Kuretake brush pens is removable which makes it easy to add the water. Sometimes I use plain water and sometimes I mix 3 parts water to one part glycerin to slow down the drying time.
I need that art book! I seen Zootropolis at the weekend, and I loved it SO much. I cannot get enough of seeing little Judy Hopps face! I cant wait for it to be out on DVD so I can spam watch it for days :D
Hey! The other day I brought a bag for my promarkers and brush markers for £30(this also included 24 promarkers by winsor&newton ) and is really handy because it comes with a handle and I little pocket for rubbers etc. It can also be used as a stand because it has flaps that you can bend and put the Velcro to the sticky side. I brought this product from the range, I do not know if you have the range where you live but I hope this helps xx
I have a similar watercolour brush pen thingy and all I do is take the black lid off and it fills up 10x quicker (i don't know if that's the same brand, but it might work) love your channel!!
I have that same ink! I really hope you like it!. I sometimes use the dropper to scrape lines on the page when doing a background. (It isn't the best technique but it gets the effect)
I have little to no artistic ability but watching doodle date makes me want to get into drawing. Also I lack knowledge on art supplies so watching these videos are really informative, I think anyway. :3 great video!
clawhauser was my favourite!! I've been holding off until the book was a tad more affordable but. I need to get this now,, I need to gather the money omg
with those water brushes (I have them) you can the black cap that has the tiny whole and it is way easier to fill the brush. I always do that and I don't have any issues with it leaking or anything
I would love to see a gouache Doodle Date video! Keep up the good work! I looove your videos, you have an amazing approach to art making! Plus you are an adorable couple! I look forward to your new videos each sunday :-)
I love those beetles! :0 And that pink gouache looks soo amazing! I've been obsessed with bright pink paints lately, and I don't even like pink (clothing and whatnot) lol xD
I was just re watching some of your videos and when I saw the Pritt stick it reminded me of the glue sticks on Barney and I'd always wanted one just because Barney used them, I mean come on he's Barney, but I never found out what they were until now, but I went through memory lane seeing that I do have a purple glue stick from Scotch but it was nice remembering it XD
I just got my first set of copic markers!!!! I talked my mom into letting me get a set after asking for a long time!!! I am so happy a drew a few things and i love them so much!!!
Those gouache paints look so nice! I got a set of holbein acryla gouache paints for christmas but I've been too scared to use them because they're so pretty! Does the gouache work okay in the moleskine sketchbook? I love the look of gouache, and it'd be neat to not have to use an actual watercolor sketchbook to paint in!
I have some tan sketchbooks but I'm awful at using them, I can never get my colours to go vibrant for some reason! Those waterbrush colours are beautiful woah
I have one of the watercolour brush pen (the green one) and for me the little black bit can actually come out making it easier to fill. I wonder if they have changed the design or something...
To help with the watercolor brush filling, maybe you could get a bowl of water, submerge the part while squeezing, and slowly lessen your grip to fill it up. I don't own any but I hope that might help! Love you guys!
The Daler Rowney FW ink is what I use the majority of the time. I love the consistency and the pigmentation of them -you can water them down and mix them like liquid watercolours with the added bonus of them being vibrant and waterproof when dry. Next weekend there's a launch event in the new Cass Art that's just opened in Birmingham, I'm looking forward to stocking up on some art supplies and maybe picking up a few of your recommendations in this video ^__^
Hi!! I have the same water brushes and you just pop the black plug off, then fill the bottle and replace the plug back in. Easy peasy!! Have a nice day
My goodness, I love you two. I love how the two of you collaborate, how you borrow each others' supplies without too many qualms, and how adventurous both of you are in the supplies you use! does any one know if the moleskine sketchbook resistant to marker (copics) ?

Steph! You can take the black cap part off of the water brushes. I struggled with that for a long time and I recently realized that!
You guys are the cutest couple ever and you both make me so happy whenever I watch your videos 💓
Hey Steph- regarding your ProMarker that doesn't have a colour label on the cap, you can easily make your own with a sticky label. Doodle date has inspired me to draw way more and I've progressed so much because of you guys! GCSE art here I come!
The beetle drawing are great. I feel inspired to draw some bugs.
"Elsa and Anna are like my BFFs now!" Adam, 2016. A very relatable quote. :D
Toned tan sketchbooks are my favorite, especially when I do drawings with prismacolor colored pencils. (It really helps the opaque colors pop!)
I'm early for another amazing video by Doodle Date! I ordered my merch a couple of days ago ;)
Same!
+ImaginationActivate Wow thank you so much! Please take pictures to show us if you can when they arrive! :D
-Adam
Doodle Date I surely will! I'll post it on Instagram.
+Kaylinh 917 Thank you so much!! Please post a picture if you are able to! We would love to see :D
-Adam
+Doodle Date I would but I'm broke from spending all my money on art 😢
My favourite character from Zootopia is definitely Officer Hops
She is just so darn cute!!

I have the same kuretake water brushes and i had the same problem but I found you can actually just pop the black lids off if you get your nail or something under them it's easy enough 😊

I recently discovered your channel and I absolutely love both of your art styles and I'm excited to see more videos❤️have a great day
If I'm not mistaken, you can pop out the black cap in the water color pens for an easier refill lol
It's cool to see that you like deep pan palettes for watercolour
I kinda just use a flat plate because I can tell what the colour will look like on paper that way
I'm literally addicted to your channel I have been watching your videos nearly all day!!!!
Could you do a haul of all your art books??
I didn't know about drawing inks until I watched your channel so thank you. Winsor and Newton inks are so cute and cool
You guys are so awesome together........how fun...Thanks for sharing!!!
Hey, Steph! I have similar waterpaint brushes, and I fill it up by having a container of water (or ink), squeezing the bit that holds the water, then putting it in the glass and letting go. Just a suggestion :)! Love you guys!
With the kuratake brush pens you can remove the little black part for filling it up and then you can put it back after, its the same kinda stopper that they put on the koi Ones so its Easy to remove and put back👍😊
Yes, please do a challenge with the BiC pen. 😊 would sure be fun.
for filling up the waterbrushes, I usually take the black cap off, fill it, then put it back on. the opening is then big enough for a pipette and I haven't had any trouble with leaking when reassembling it and it's relatively easy to take the cap off and back on. hope this helps!
I love Steph's shirts they're always so colorful!!
You two are so adorable and honestly such an inspiration. I always feel the urge to doodle in my sketchbook after watching your videos. :)
Do moleskines allow you to draw with markers without leaking through the paper on the back? P.s. I love your channel
+Kaitlin Wojcik Aw sadly they don't! You need to have a scrap piece of paper behind the page you're using to prevent bleedthrough :)
- Steph
Like steph said, you do need to put a piece of scrap paper behind the page to prevent bleeding onto the other pages, but I'm totally fine with it because I have one of my own. Plus, it's nice paper it doesn't bleed as much as a lot of other sketchbooks. It's pretty thick. It's at the point where it nots too thin and not to thick. The paper is nice and smooth. I always used copy paper before I got a moleskin, and to be honest, I don't even need a moleskin. Nobody does. You can, like I said, work...
...with anything you've got. There is no need for awesome art supplies. I have temptations when it comes to art supplies 😋
I love your channel! You got me interested in a lot of different art supplies that I would never have thought of!
you should do a challenge to draw your own animal that you made :)
that's a really good idea
+Yolie Molie thanks
+CameronPlayz it is! I may have a go myself , I really hope this gets to the top so they try this 😀

I loved Zootopia so much
You are such inspirations and I really love your videos!!! PLEASE UPLOAD MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would you do another McDonald's doodle date???

Wow that gouache is BEAUTIFUL! I have never used it myself. I just have the "Liquitex Basics" and "cheep!" acrylic paints. I lie the liquitex paints better than the "cheep!" ones, but cheep! has some really bright colours. I'm kind of learning how to use them, and how to use other mediums too.
I have the same water brushes, and you can remove the plastic! I find this useful because you can have the filled bases sperate from the brushes.
Love haul videos the holbien gouache is on my wish list too I want to try their watercolors as well I heard it's a really good brand.
I love you guys so much and I just wanna say about 4 months ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I needed to get my mind off all the sadness and all ur videos always make me smile and laugh and ur vids give me faith that everything is going to be alright. thanks for being so amazing and I love you both. zootropolis?
ok you are from uk
+NarwhalGames They say in the video that apparently the name of the movie changes depending on the country you see it in. In the US it is Zootopia
I coloured a ceramic owl with posca pens, they really can draw on anything!
Your videos are amazing! I absolutely adore you guys! Just ordered a ton of your merchandise, and I'm sooooo excited!
You guys are like my favorite art youtubers ❤️
You've got some interesting art supplies there! I've never tried any kind of paint markers. :O I love listening to you guys chat, never a dull moment
With the brush pens , i found that you can remove the black cap and fill up the barrel that way. Hope that helps! x
clawhauser was my favourite!!
I've been holding off until the book was a tad more affordable but. I need to get this now,, I need to gather the money omg
I got the same exact BIC pen! I also own one with pastel colors. I'd love to see you two draw with those pens :)
with those water brushes (I have them) you can the black cap that has the tiny whole and it is way easier to fill the brush. I always do that and I don't have any issues with it leaking or anything
I bought some Winsor and Newton inks. And they are wonderful
I look forward to Sunday just to see your videos !
I would love to see a gouache Doodle Date video! Keep up the good work! I looove your videos, you have an amazing approach to art making! Plus you are an adorable couple! I look forward to your new videos each sunday :-)
I love those beetles! :0
And that pink gouache looks soo amazing!
Those water colours they are amazing 😋
Yay a new video I love your videos and I watch them every week 😊😊❤️

I just got my first set of copic markers!!!! I talked my mom into letting me get a set after asking for a long time!!! I am so happy a drew a few things and i love them so much!!!
You can take the black plug out of those kuretaki brushes, it's much easier to fit the pipet into and filling it with water!!
Hey have you guys ever thought about sketching in ballpoint pen in your sketchbooks? I do it all the time and it looks really cool. :)
i didnt know you guys uploaded!!! YAY! awesome way to pass my night 😁
Yay for haul videos! They are really fun to watch
With the water brush pens you can take the back plug part out to put water or ink in. Just a lil tricky but you can.
I have one of the watercolour brush pen (the green one) and for me the little black bit can actually come out making it easier to fill. I wonder if they have changed the design or something...
I don't know why but I find their videos home-y...
Sssaaaammmmeeeee it feels like they are talking Wright to you 😊
Yeah! Hahah
Ahh yes! Mint green pro marker! That's my favorite color
You guys should definitely do a pastel color challenge! :D
+shockinggal The colour is so beautiful!! We love it too :)

To help with the watercolor brush filling, maybe you could get a bowl of water, submerge the part while squeezing, and slowly lessen your grip to fill it up. I don't own any but I hope that might help! Love you guys!
It's good to know that I'm not the only one who's in the indigo stage....INDIGO HYPE! YAAAAASSSS!! 😂
no!! do the work stuff in the black notebook and the red one for us! i like the red one
Have a nice day
I live in Japan and we have TONS of those POSCA pens in our Art Class
