    Unrivaled needs Caitlin to get it going for its first year. These Caitlin haters put Caitlin in a spot. Caitlin has always said she's wanted to grow the WNBA, but they're basically twisting her arm. As if they haven't done enough to her, they're using her as a pawn. This Unrivaled is bad news. The WNBA is making rapid changes (i.e., expansion teams, firing coaching, moss to come). Funny how the NBA viewership has dropped at least 3x and WNBA increased.

      @@JS-nk4tn Unrivaled doesn't need Clark and really don't expect her to join. Clark is bound to the WNBA. I believe that was part of why they were trying to test the waters to get some type of valuation of the league without Caitlin Clark. This is also why Clark was set at odds with the players in the WNBA from the beginning. These hate and jealousy narratives were generated to put a wedge and isolate Clark from the rest of the WNBA players. It has been quite successful. Because of this Caitlin Clark is obviously and justifiably not expected to join Unrivaled. If Caitlin were to join, it would be chaos and create a players market. Caitlin is not a golfer, she is a talented basketball player. Her participation in golf is just a temporary diversion to store her away from any controversial craziness.

    You touched on the important point about the missed opportunity of embracing young players. I think it's okay to require players to finish college, and they can build their following playing in college.
    When it's time to enter the pros, the league could benefit if it embraces and promotes them. Unfortunately, the league has done a very poor job of this. Many of the rookies who get drafted are waived before they even see their first game. Those who make the roster rarely see meaningful minutes unless they were one of the top 5 picks.
    Their college fans fade away from the W when they're waived or chained to the bench.
    How many of you have heard of Dyaisha Fair, Jaz Shelley, or Celeste Taylor? These were all members of the 2024 rookie class who got waived by the teams who drafted them.

    These are some really risky investing by both the W and unrivaled. The W is expanding without a new CBA and unrivaled is doubling down without Caitlin. Collier and Arike are signed to Nike, Stewart is signed to puma, Angel is with Reebok and Adidas has Boston. I believe this means Unrivaled will remain agnostic in regard to shoe sponsorships.

    First, i am not interested in watching 3 on 3 womrns bball. Second, if Caitlin doesnt sign, and i hope she will not, its doomed from the beginning. Third, as stated, most of those of prominence eithers called her fan base racist or were quiet to counter the narrative. The activism and the refs need to be addressed in the W, but i see no reason why this league wouldnt continue promoting extreme beliefs. Fourth, the W just received the influx of cash. IMO, the League Office running the show need also to be replaced. Folks that are dedicated to seeing the sport grow. Understanding Caitlin and her class were the start of a new dawn for the league, in talent, differing pace of the game, but with built in followings from college, in many instances. New blood leadership that explains but warns players and coaches that this is a business first. All the extra curricular stuff is secondary, and anyone one whose actions or words, that contradict or damages the business model will incur substantial penalties. That will include but not limited to on court excessive physicality, or statements made in press congerences that are not directly concerning the game. It is true what Cheryl zmiller said during the All Star game. The NBA undersold the W and screwed them into a 10 year deal. They should be receiving double that, cause things are about to take off with a proper management team

    There needs to be a culture change. Fans are interested in real basketball and not bad actors and woke broke behavior. This behavior does not make money.
    Clark is the future in skills and professional behavior… pattern the leagues conduct on playing basketball and not cheap shots and childish social media antics.

      Well said. My question is how does any critical thinker believe they should be paid more for the product they've been putting on the floor? Very few watched it before Caitlin arrived, they've never turned a profit and wouldn't even exist if not for the NBA. They're more focused on phony activism than basketball, fans who come to see good basketball leave disappointed a lot of the time.. How does that equate to them deserving more pay?

    Thanks for the upload. From what I see it is the promotion of "physical" BB that has held back the WNBA since the initial enthusiasm between 1998 and 2003? I predict U will only succeed if some of the new fans crossover and I think they ain't interested in "physical" play which they consider dirty. It will be interesting if the U allow "physical" play. I see that Paige Beuckers is signed to the league for NIL and will start playing in 2026. I think that's a sign that the U weren't expecting or really wanting CC in 2025. It's the money people that want CC. In terms of the league itself, CC is only wanted for her fanbase.

    • @Willard-l7t
      @Willard-l7t 7 дней назад +2

      Correct! When players resort to dirty play and call it physical basketball because they are not talented enough to compete with certain players by playing clean basketball it makes people lose interest. I have no problem with physical basketball but a lot of what we see is just plain dirty play.

    Clark could play for Unrivaled, but as the face of the WNBA at this time and is their golden goose. It doesn't matter how much they offer Caitlin to play in Unrivaled league, it ain't gonna happen. She is going to get way more than a million dollars and the WNBA will pay whatever they have to to keep Clark away from the competition at this time.

    All I hear is Blah blah blah blah blahhh. Are you trying to say when Paige and Juju come out, they should just join unrivaled and forget going to the WNBA. Do you know the venue for unrivaled will seat approximately 850 people, thats laughable. what a crock of Sh!t. Money Mike, I thought your viewpoint was better than that.

      Not to mention it's going to be treated like reality TV, they will promote the drama both on the court and behind the scenes, not to mention 3x3 basketball is boring. I won't watch one second of men's or women's 3x3 with or without Caitlin and hopefully she will stick to her guns and say no. No way I would be a part of anything Geno has a hand in.
