You know what Even though they're my favorite team you have to talk about them The Los Angeles Clippers from 1970 to about 2009 basically their entire history was just pure pain and misery That would make probably the best timeline video ever and a LONG ONE

@@RefRed_King from 1970 to 2003 you could say that 04 to about 07 they were decent With the Sam Cassell Elton brand teams 08 to 2011 they were bad or mediocre 2012 to 2017 they were pretty good But the clippers made the best decision they ever made by getting Jerry West in 2017 18 to 19 wasn't bad but not amazing 2020 Pretty good and 2021 also pretty good so far I personally think they could be doing better this season But it's better than nothing But yeah majority of the Clippers history they were horrendous

I am old enough to to gone through that. I am a fan since 1989, just before they traded Mitch Richmond. I was so excited when we got CWebb at that time and then everything just crashing down. I hung in there as a fan and still went to the games. I had friends even laughing at me for wearing Warriors clothes. All those humiliated years finally paid off when we finally win it all!
To be fair to the Warriors, Antawn Jamison was a great player and 2- time All-Star...just not for them

Garnett was a highschooler, very lanky and people seem to forget that hindsight doesnt apply when youre in the actual moment itself. He wasnt a guarentee, nobody ever is. Obviously 5 teams passed on Garnett for a reason.

Joe Smith looked dominate at Maryland, KG was unproven and a huge risk. That being said, they just had a big thing for drafting big men rather than whoever the best player available was.

I must be old because I grew up watching Billy Owens. He was one of the h.s. stars everyone knew would make the nba. He was talented but quiet. The Warriors had the big man curse every since traded Robert Parrish for a #1 pick(became bust).

As a fan thoughout the entire time, I have come to realize one thing. If the Warriors got it right in any of those picks, they would not have gotten the other high picks. However, Cohen era managements were sooo... incompetent they would have messed everything up anyway had they gotten the picks right.

I only want to weigh in on the 98 draft, iam not a warriors fan at all but 90"s nba is my wheelhouse.
It's easy to debate why tbe warriors traded Vince Carter for Antwan Jamison but coming out of NC Jamison was the fall better polished player, pretty sure he was college player of the year too and hey it's not like Jamison had a bad career by any means but no one at the time projected Vince to blow up the way he did so I have no issues with that trade but to say they fucked up because they didn't draft Dirk was a joke as with a lot of theses videos hindsight comes into it alot but trust me when I say as an adult in 98 teams were not high on European players coming over to the nba as they were deemed as soft, Dirk as we know became a legend but even the Mavs had doubts about the pick soon after and it wasn't until he and Nash started gelling on court and given the opportunity to play there style of basketball together that both Dirk and Nash for that matter blew up

That draft day trade for Jamison in 98
Don't think that Golden State all of a sudden became a drafting maestro. As a long suffering GSW fan back then, I knew too well the inner workings of the sausage. Plucking Steph Curry turned out to be the greatest move ever, but management was trying to trade him instead of Monte Ellis. They lucked out because no other teams were interested because of the chronic ankle problems Curry had at the time, and Monte Ellis forced their hands to get rid of him. A couple of years later they drafted Harrison Barnes, Festus Ezeli, and Draymond Green, the last one being the second best move ever, but the focal point of then was Harrison Barnes. He possessed all the tools of being a great player but never panned out, while Draymond Green transformed the team into a defensive juggernaut. Offensively he became the key ingredient in maximizing Curry's gravity and Steve Kerr's motion scheme.
This video brings back bad memories, but the worst was the rights for Kevin Mchale and the warriors best player Robert Parrish to the Celtics for the number one pick who turned out to be J.B. (Just Breathing) Carrol.

I would just like to say the league and so many people believed Larry Hughes would be a superstar but nope didn't happen! Go back and play the video games from his first 2 years in the league and in career mode he jumps up to top 5-10 highest rated players in the league getting up to a 97 to 98 overall rating!
