How did you get the display to say Racing when you started the bike with the Terminogni exhaust? Is that something that happens when the dealer flashes the bike?
Dealer installs mapping software, they are the only ones I am aware of that can do the up-map work. Mapping is required in order to smoothen out the power band, add a slight more power and maintain any engine warranties that should surface. Without the mapping I believe Ducati can refuse warranty claim should your engine have any problems.
The ‘up map’ is more about dealing with all the error / engine check light codes you get when installing the full system. As the catalytic converter is fully removed as well as sensors. Yes it also does a mild tune as well.

It does come shorter, this isn’t the only Termignoni exhaust - A shorter one that looks and sounds better, search SKU 96480952A to find it. The shorter a can the louder and nicer it sounds, longer they are the more it muffles the sound.

Did the tube change the rpm limit? The multi starts to turn orange around 8k

I’ve heard that the standard 1260 has a very snatchy throttle so does this smooth things out? Any other less expensive solution to make it smoother?

Is the engine smoother at low speed with long gear?
Yes, the engine gives off power more linearly, engine braking is also gentler.

How long did it take to install ?
About an hour not including the up-map key at the dealership which takes about 30 minutes.
