Hi, thank you for the video. Is it possible to have a client pay a 50% retainer for a booking and have Square send an invoice when the remaining balance is due?

After invoice is paid, it will be “deposited” into your Square balance. You can use Square checking or add a external bank account

Jess, I collect a retainer fee before services begin with a client. I have set up a robust Square account and understand how to create and send invoices. I'm stuck on how to collect the retainer then invoice services against the retainer. Right now, I'm invoicing for the retainer up front. When services are completed, I'm sending a second invoice itemizing how their retainer was utilized. The only work around I've found is to then discount the services rendered by the amount of the retainer. Is there a way to collect a retainer (a deposit) and then bill services against that deposit?

      Hi there Mrs.Werner,
there is a way to collect a deposit or retainer when creating an invoice. When creating an invoice, you will see a button that says "Add payment schedule" (It should be under the total).
There you'll see a toggle button to "Request deposit". It should be straightforward from there. Good luck! :)

I'd like to transition from accepting order via website payment gateway to invoicing only. I'd like to use the free invoice feature as I don't need any of the extra features as my business is mainly seasonal. I feel I could save by not paying a monthly website fee while still accepting orders via emails for orders which would generate a manually entered invoice for all orders. Question, if I discontinue my monthly website fee, will the items still show in my store though they cannot be ordered through my website? Thanks for your help

Yes, the items in your Square library (not your online items). It will downgrade you to a Square url instead of using your custom domain.

Hi. I have multiple types of SE work that I do. Could I maintain separate invoicing and see revenues separately under the same Square account?

Hello will this work also for the service feature? I have a sugaring buisness and would like to start taking deposits once my clients book. Thank you for this video!

Hi! You have two options for taking deposits: you can send an invoice with an installment payment schedule (Deposit+remainder) or you can use Square Appointments and have clients book and pay deposits.
Invoices will need to be sent to clients but the appointments can be booked by you or the customer

Hi Jess hope all is good 👍 well I'm new to this , but I seen a guy who sells his products using SQUARE . I'd like to buy from him . Do I have to have a square account to buy from him ? And how do I buy with my visa credit debit card ?
Is my information of my card safe ?
    Thanks Jess

Hi Jeffery! No, you don't need to have a Square account to buy from a Square seller. There are many ways to pay with Square nowadays so it depends on what medium the seller uses to collect payment. But generally, it's pretty safe to use.

You can get any amount moved to your bank account under “Balance”. You will need to add your external bank account or you can get a Square card which allows you to use the balance immediately
