Hey Mark, I have the Sony 1000 xm3. They are headphones of an exceptional class. The noise canceling works excellent. Unfortunately, when using the cable on TV, it is not possible to control the sound on the headphones. Then you have to buy a bluetooth dongle or extension cable with volume control. And when using the cable connection, it is also not possible to activate noise canceling.
I am not able connect them wired to laptop, can u plz help on it. Windows 10 just would not recognize it , when i connect in with supplied cable.Also is there sound leakage in these headphones, mine have a good amount of sound leakage. How can we fix it leakage

The headphones must be powered on to access all of the features including ANC. With the 3.5mm plugged into your phone and the headphones powered down, the headphones will not be able to use ANC or any of the other features. You will still be able to listen to music however.
I haven't verified this myself as I don't use mine outdoors, but I'll give it a shot this week. Canada is getting cold now so it should be an easy test. Thanks for the heads up!
I doubt it. It's probably a physical problem, and an annoying one too. I still don't regret my purchase, but I now seriously wish the XM3's had the physical buttons of the QC's.

I dont think you mentioned the NC optimizer feature. This occurs when you hold the NC button for about 2 seconds. The website says that this feature is good for when the wearing condition changes. such as getting a haircut, being at higher altitudes, wearing or not wearing your glasses. I found this on the website's manual for the headphones.

Is there a way to have these phones connect automatically. I use them with a Sony TV but must connect them manually on every use by going into TV bluetooth settings and connecting from there. Other bluetooth phones i have paired to the same set connect as soon as i turn them on.

1) On the 'automatic power off' section it defaults at 5 mins. Does this mean it switches off if no bluetooth is connected after 5 minutes? I see on the App you can change time length so I assume you can increase this with no downside if you just manually switch off to save power when you are not using them. 2) I have found the noise cancelling feature gets rid of background noise but if someone is shouting in the next room, or bangs a door, or any other random sound happens you can hear it. Do I have a faulty pair of headphones or is noise cancelling feature as it currently stands not capable of actually removing all sound from the surrounding space?
1) this is correct 2) That is how ANC works. It can cancel out lower frequencies, ambient noises, or drone notes, but it has trouble with sporadic higher-end noises. The technology just isn't there yet, and honestly this is probably safer. As annoying as it is to hear your roommates, it could save your life to be able to hear someone yelling!

I had trouble with PC also... It finally work when I paired it for the second time when it was already paired. So you will see two connections under your Bluetooth devices... One says paired, and The other one says connected.

Alan Sabu I had been struggling with this for the last month, but finally figured it out. First, it can’t be connected to the phone or any other device while pairing. Since it kept connecting automatically, I turned off the Bluetooth on the already paired device temporarily. Second, the headset must be off before starting. Third, I held down the power button until it flashed quickly twice. (You will hear it beep on while doing this but don’t release the button until you get the quick double flash of the blue light.) Last, look for the headset in the list of devices which you can pair with and pair it. I hope this helps.
I have a question regarding the 3d sound or surround sound, i use these while playing PUBG mobile, and if I don’t use the cable, the 3d sound won’t work!! If i use the Bluetooth, i have to turn the microphone off so the 3d sound works. If i use the cable, the microphone won’t work (it uses the iPad microphone instead of the headphones mic with the cable) Any idea what might be the reason and solution?
maybe you can buy some wireless adapter that will connect to your TV, and then you connect the adapter wirelessly to your headphones via blutooth - I'm sure this can be done.

Mark, I'd like to add that the gesture control stops working at low temperatures (around 0°C / 32°F). An absolute no-go at that price-point.

Yup, I have experienced this as well. Often have to power off and on the device to get it to work (which it sometimes does).
Yeah, I can now confirm that the XM3's do have issues with the touch controls in the cold.

Wired is always better regarding sound quality but recent bluetooth codecs are doing a very good job overall

Nope! The app isn’t required for normal use. It’s only really needed if you want to adjust the settings (noise cancelling strength, equalizer, etc.).

YT User I think they just pair the volume of the headphones to whatever device you’re connected to. Same for JBL speakers.
The head set doesn't have a separate volume, it's set by the volume of the device it's paired to.
I honestly prefer the master volume to the multi-volume, just my opinion though

My headphones are not charging since I brought them. When i connect to a adaptor it blinks red and fails to charge up. Is this a common battery issue faced by all.Will I have to send this back to the company to get it fixed?
I'd try a different cable or wall adapter. If that doesn't work, I'd return it to the company you bought it from or contact Sony's customer support.
Is it possible to increase/decrease volyme on left/right channel?

It has one but only activates with mobile plan calls, absolute nightmare for Discord, Zoom, Teams and so on - was very disappointed, you can just listen to music, no call, no gaming... For the price, you would expect at least this function!
I've watched this video 4 times now and still can't get my xm3 to pair with my Samsung A50 phone or my NEW Sony Bravia TV. The noise cancelling works but can't get anything connected. Is there an phone #'s I can call or websites I can go to get this taken care of before I travel over the holidays?

you turn on your bluetooth. turn off the headset then press and hold for 7-8 seconds so it turns on and starts looking for a bluetooth connection. then start a bluetooth search on the laptop till the headphones appear then click pair

Alan Sabu I had been struggling with this for the last month, but finally figured it out.
First, it can’t be connected to the phone or any other device while pairing. Since it kept connecting automatically, I turned off the Bluetooth on the already paired device temporarily.
Second, the headset must be off before starting.
Third, I held down the power button until it flashed quickly twice. (You will hear it beep on while doing this but don’t release the button until you get the quick double flash of the blue light.)
Last, look for the headset in the list of devices which you can pair with and pair it.

I have a question regarding the 3d sound or surround sound, i use these while playing PUBG mobile, and if I don’t use the cable, the 3d sound won’t work!! If i use the Bluetooth, i have to turn the microphone off so the 3d sound works. If i use the cable, the microphone won’t work (it uses the iPad microphone instead of the headphones mic with the cable)

God_ Usopp as far as I am aware, they work really well preventing noise leak.
Can you connect these with television? and if so how you can do it?
maybe you can buy some wireless adapter that will connect to your TV, and then you connect the adapter wirelessly to your headphones via blutooth - I'm sure this can be done.
