Hi Don! I'm famous! 😄 Pronounce Hverring without the "H", just verring. The ferule was from a pipe of unknown origin. It's covered in a layer of some sort of plastic which fortunately is easy to remove. The liquid is boiled linseed oil. I have that jar to dunk smaller things in so they can soak. It says "Dunkin'" on the front 😄 The Bivoks is indeed Beeswax, but what you couldn't see was that it said Linolie below, which means Linseed oil. It's a paste wax made from beeswax and BLO. I make different versions with more or less wax. I'm still experimenting. And you were right, the black "substance" was the applicator; a piece from an old T-shirt that lives in the paste wax. I use the awl all the time! I love it! Thank you for the mention, Don. It was my pleasure sending it in 😊 You inspired me to make it-I wouldn't have an awl now if it wasn't for your video! I hope you have everything under control concerning your and Pam's health (and the dogs). Best wishes from me (and the cats).
Thomas, thank you for the information. I’m glad you liked the video. 😃 I wouldn’t have been able to make it without all your hard work and sending me such high quality photos. Enjoy your awl. My best to you and your cats. Sorry I messed up the pronunciation. 😬 I’ll correct it on a future video when I have a chance. I greatly appreciate all your cooperation and hard work. 😃
Getting old has its downsides, but your positive spirit wins out!
Thank you for the comment. It will put a little more pep into my steps today. 😃
