I will probably get jumped on here, but I have been using my old TS100 for a long time without the clamping screws for the tips. The flat-bladed tip sometimes rotates when you are pressing, but you are most likely pressing too hard if it does! Conical tips never move of course. I don't think the TS100 ever claimed to be "Plug-and-Play"... I don't push my luck; I unplug it for tip changes, but it does make for greater convenience. I think I might invest in one of these... my Grandson has fallen in love with the TS100! 😜 As always, thanks for the review... Stay safe.
The flashing lights are quite distracting. Any way to customize them (make them solid) or turn them off? I didn't see anything related when you were browsing the settings
Soldering Iron number 427?? How well are the internal contacts to the iron /s? Do you notice any heat from the handle itself? I might get one just for the LED's. Cheers Andrew.
I hate those little tip tightening screws, they strip so easily (especially cause they're made of chinesium). I had hoped they would find another way to do that.
The display sizes are all the same frome the non pro to the pra and to the pro max, they could have at least make a bigger screen in the max version like 36mm x 12mm. 😔 Better for disabled people, instead of the disco led lights.
Just ordered one of these also, thank you Andrew.
Hi planning to buy one just for some home diy works. How is it after a year? Are these reliable? Thanks 😊
Yes they are. Still using mine almost daily

Looks really nice. Maybe I'll buy one.

Yes, product page says they can be turned off

Great for your next disco party
@@AndrewNewton : Mate, if I ever have a disco party, I'll fly you and Virginia up here to attend.
@@AndrewNewton What difference between si012 pro vs si012 normal?

I most likely covered that in the videos. Watch them and you can remind me.
Hello Andrew I was wondering if it would be possible to flash speedy bee f405 v3 with ardupilot quadcopter firmware to make it autonomous
Have to check the specs sheet
i have a question, on the underside of the device theres a screw. can I attach a grounding cable to it?
Just a tip locking screw I think.
@@AndrewNewton that is unfortunate... is there another way to ground this thing? i know the ts101 has a dedicated screw for that purpose
@@qt2u_the tip locking screw is pushing on the tip, cant you just wrap some wire around it and screw it in?
Cute little iron Andrew.....🤔😳😀🇬🇧
Forget the iron, how about the cricket!
@@AndrewNewton Oh, Cricket you say...?...Are we letting you win again then..?....lol....😳😮😏😀🇬🇧

Looks like a pregnancy-testing kit...🤔 Andrew, is there something you're not telling us?
That would sizzle!
