Sure you can, but you'll be even healthier if you don't eat it at all. If you really love sugary/processed foods then have them occasionally. There's nothing wrong with that. But if you're not really passionate about them then you're better to completely avoid them. There's plenty of health adjusted meals that are 80% as good as the original.

One mistake people make is thinking 'if its natural, it's good" not at all true considering that you cannot eat the actual plant of a tomato or a potato for instance, they are simply poison.
Many other foods we make edible are processed such as Cashews which are poisonous without being processed.
Raw Kidney beans will make you sick and a rule of thumb for beans is to soak over night before cooking.
Potatoes raw are very hard on your digestive system do to the amount of starch, cooking helps break down the starch which allows your body to more easily digest.
In short, know what you are consuming and go from there.
My Gpa was still walking the golf course at 89 when he finally kicked off. His rule was "everything in moderation" I think that is what our biggest take away for us commoners.
In the off chance Mr Garga reads my post, I would suggest "The Story of the Human Anatomy" by Evolutionary Biologist Daniel Lieberman.

We have similar diets. I make my own bread, and my local store has unpasteurized freshly squeezed juices if I do fancy that. What I do is substitute everything I crave with something healthier. If I want ice-cream I have triple cream yogurt with fresh fruit, crush nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg. If I want to snack on chips, I'll have some pistachios, or walnuts instead. If I want "junk-food" such as a cheese-burger I make it myself rather than going to McDonalds for mystery GMO DNA altering substances that they call "food."

Funny enough I've been rediving into the Iliad. In book five they talk about the diet of the Gods that changed their blood into Ichor. They wouldn't eat bread/grains or sparkling wines (some translations just say wine, but carbonation was part of the greek text). This came up when Aphrodite was wounded by the mortal Diomed.
Also, interesting in book 1 of the Iliad whenever there was a "offering to the gods" the people also ate the food including bone marrow like a big BBQ in honor of the Gods they were trying to please. Thigh bone of bull or goat wrapped in fat with meat on top was burned on an alter. Each participant would eat a portion of marrow and then they would sit and eat the feast together.
I'm a big nerd when it comes to ancient diets. The greek soldier also was on a ration of onions, garlic, and goat cheese. If you can imagine how these guys must have smelled (my wife has banned me from doing the diet again)! The active chemical acilin in both garlic and onion have interesting ramifications for human health as well as goat cheese being easier on those with lactose intolerance while having higher calcium density than cow milk/cheese. Acilin has some interesting modern studies where it's found to work directly on relaxation of smooth muscles. Not sure if those benefits are found in the fresh consuming of garlic/onion, but certainly the greeks had value in these as adequate rations for soldiers.

Gabriel! Very very on point with one exception. The data on coffee’s benefits is much much much more robust than that nonsense about wine. I recommend Aaron Caroll’s articles and work on it. Can be found at healthcare triage YT channel or the NYT upshot column. I don’t think the benefits are so amazing that you should start drinking coffee now or anything but it’s not comparable to the red wine story. I believe that that was the news media getting overexcited about a single study. Coffee has a lot more research than that

Please don't listen to this. If you enjoy coffee stop trying to promote it through bs articles/studies funded by we dont know who. Lots of people are sensitive to caffeine and it triggers a lot of bad symptoms in them and make them way worse than they are. A friend of mine have have anxiety attacks everytime he drinks coffee. Drink whatever you want but keep your advice to yourself.

Yeah I'm pretty much the same. If you are reading this and feeling like this is hard advice, maybe a bit overweight etc., just honestly fill your kitchen with healthy foods you like to substitute out bad foods. Even if youre still overweight for a while as a result of still smashing too much food, youll be way more healthy and wont have cravings or self-denial to deal with. Just throw the bad stuff out and dont buy it again.
