What a gem, I can't count how many times I seen this as a kid.
I watched this a month ago and I’m 42 now. Never gets old!!
20x
@@MsAmalia07 same! I rewatch some movies as an adult that I loved as a child and wonder why I actually liked them in the first place, but this is actually really good slapstick comedy with solid performance by the cast, which is a big reason it still stands up.
@@Irishgui83 💯
@cartermade8634 Yups! This was the best in the franchise, but Part 3 wasn't bad for a tv movie.
R.I.P John Ritter, who doesn't miss him
I still lol in some movie I saw, when he spent the night in the Bar. The next day they found him and he had wrapped himself in toilet-paper cause he was cold.
😆😂🤣
John Ritter was a treasure. But my favorite movie he was in will always be Stay Tuned.
@@tails0420ify it's on Netflix or Hulu or Prime I can't remember which.
I still remember finding out about his passing, and it was such a shock.
The last movie he did was Bad Santa
Love Problem Child 1 and 2. Better than most comedies today
It sure is better than comedies of today in 2021.
What about the 3rd?
@@hectorlopez1069 and 2022
All 3 Problem Child Films Rulez✊🏻!
it would never be made today tho
I always thought this was the better one out of the two (let's not even mention the third!) It amuses me how critics speak out against something, 'to protect the kids' and yet the kids bloody love it! This was from a time when film makers just didn't care and we got great films as a result; could you imagine them trying to make something like this now? It wouldn't be allowed.
Absolutely true! This movie would never be allowed…everything has to be PC these days.
There's a third? LOL
@@lulub1433 There is, but it's ... UGH! I don't recommend you seek it out; watch the other two again instead, you'll enjoy those more. Really, you're not missing anything. 😄
Yes I need to see the R rated version!!!! Loved this movie as a kid
"How could I forget? Her pie gave us the runs" Thanks Minty!!
In the USA edited for TV version, Junior says "the rash" instead of "the runs"! 😸
@@scottakanumba1heathen379 Hahahaha!
@@scottakanumba1heathen379 I remember that. That almost sounds worse. Like an STD.
@@beauwalker9820
LOLZ
@@scottakanumba1heathen379 similarly, "The Great Outdoors" censored the famed "blow it out your ***" scene, and replaced it with "blow it out your kazoo." Which also sounds kinda naughtier.
Minty: no one asked annie is she ok...
I see what you did there... That was smooth, and if you didn't catch it, that's criminal 😎
Niceeee 💪🏽💯
Can't stop until you get enough of Michael Jackson, can you?
Nice!
In Problem child 1 & 2 the grandpa was my favorite character, he made me laugh the most.
In part 1 he said he would sell this country out to China if they’d make him a offer 😂 😂 😂
Hahaha I remember that part
Big Ben is Based on Joe Biden.
Actually, the man in the Woody Woodpecker cartoon looked alot like Grandpa!
So the films were related!
"The bitch must die!". That's still one of my all time favorite movie quotes.
Gotta love Trixie and Junior putting the M-80 in the toilet.
My Dad loved that joke with the principle using the toilet afterwards.
@@beauwalker9820 it wasn't the principal, it was juniors teacher in the sixth grade.
@@hectorlopez1069 And then the poor bastard had to wear a huge adult diaper afterwards.😔
John Ritter is sorely missed, what a great actor he was though 🎥
Yes he was in the 2 movies of this.
The franchise really missed out on the best crossover ever: Problem Child's Play, where Junior ends up with Chucky and the two have it out.
What about Junior and Dennis the Menace?
Oh wow yes please. That would have been awesome
@@nsasupporter7557 Junior vs Kevin!
i never needed something more...damn
You have won the most likely to be awesome award 🤣
When I was a kid, this movie got played at school a lot as just something to keep us entertained. I loved it. I never thought twice about the vulgarity lol. Poop jokes and barf jokes? You had me at John Ritter lol. And yes, I miss him so much and wish he were still with us. It took me forever to even muster up the courage to watch reruns of Three’s Company again for years after he passed.
What kind of school plays movies that much?
Did you cry like a little bitch?
I remember when my school as a kid showed the original Ghostbusters, the teacher had to fast forward during Ray's famed "dream" scene. All the kids went, "Awww..." so apparently we all saw that scene already.
And watching reruns of 8 simple rules for marrying my teenage daughter.
I recently watched this with my daughter. I hadn't watched it in forever and I busted out laughing when I saw that Junior and his dad were moving to Mortville. Mortville is the town from John Waters' Desperate Living where all the criminals live.
Concerning the deleted scene about the station wagon, I wasn't aware that was a scene for TV only. I was actually wondering where it was when we watched it. Now I know.
LOVE Desperate living! Thanks for pointing that out!
I watched it with my 12 year-old son recently, too! 😂
I watched it with my 85 year old grand son. He ended up pooping in his depends.
The opening song, Only The Strong Survive, was awesome.
You got that right. It was awesome.
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I absolutely LOVED THIS. Drove my dad crazy wanting to rewatch the vhs of this movie over and over again. Thanks for doing this one, Minty!!! You’re the man!
Movies were great in those times.
Big Ben + Mustache: Perfection. always found him odd without it in the first one, cause i saw this second chapter prior
He had a mustache and looked like Dr. Wiley in the cartoon series.
Problem child 1 and 2 were some of my favourite movies as a child!
i haven't seen this movie since the mid-90s. i was about 7 or 8 years old when i saw the first one and 9 or 10 when i saw the sequel. My dad and i thought it was hilarious. Seeing this review reminds me of how funny "Problem Child 2" really was.
i actually recorded the film for myself when it premiered on Fox in 1993, taking extra-special care to cut out commercials. Remember having to do that??
And yes, i miss John Ritter. It really made me sad when he passed.
It felt like we lost a genuinely good and decent Hollywood person.
Even after all this time, no one has ever had ANYTHING negative to say about John Ritter.
Ooh yes, i DEFINITELY wanted that "spaceship arcade" bed!!
I still enjoy this sequel, just like the first one. It's sad, movies aren't like this no more.
Whether in theaters, cable, regular tv, video, or dvd, the crazy dance scene will always forever be the ultimate hilarious moment, nuff said!
He got Trixie and the fat kid, as well because the guy wouldn't let junior get on the crazy dance ride.
Vhs when it first came out in 1991.
Oh, HELL yes let's get a petition going for the release of the R rated version. PLEASE!! 🤣👍
Agreed, hope it has Gilbert Gottfried saying naughty things.
I remember my mother and grandmother took me and my brother to see this in theater. My brother and I loved it, my mother and grandmother were not impressed.
I seriously wanted Gilbert Gottfried's desk made of pencils.
They gave tutorials on making them on RUclips.. you just need epoxy resin and a lot of time lol
I loved Gilbert Gottfried as a kid, because of the Problem Child movies.
He had an awkward voice. He sounded so stupid.
My childhood! Man the 90's haha I enjoyed this movie as a kid. Still watch it from time to time.
I saw both in theaters as a kid and loved them 😀
Same here. Good memories.
No information on the those two dog vets guys? Their scenes will forever stay with me 🤣😂
I love this channel. I've watched almost every video and find them to be uniformly excellent. Minty is around my age and I find that I identify with so many of his memories and recollections. Thanks Minty and keep up the good work!
Thank you for selecting this movie Minty! Brought back many memories! Especially with John Ritter, he is dearly missed as an actor and an all around good man. RIP
I haven’t seen Problem Child 2 in years. The movie brought so much joy into my life when it first came out in theaters. My mother wasn’t a fan, but my dad was all for it. We went as a family and I sat next to my dad who was laughing along with me (particularly during the vomit scenes as he was eating his popcorn). He was the best “movie buddy” a girl could ask for. Happy Birthday day in heaven Pops! Miss you! ❤️
The Prune shouldve made a cameo in part 2. 😆 just sayin , it deserved it goddamnit.
2 is my favorite
Truly miss John Ritter, he was such a great actor. If you haven't covered his film 'Skin Deep' you really should.I've got five words for you.
Glow in the dark condoms.
I've heard about this movie since I was a kid and have still never seen it, lol. Love John Ritter. He made Bad Santa for me.
Oh those commercials were the height of lame 90's movie trailers & commercials. Can't be shown because it GLOWS IN TEH DARK HHHHHUUUUURRRRRR!!!
And how about Stay Tuned? That is one I can still rewatch several times to this day.
Who doesn't miss John Ritter! He was an awesome guy all around. Saw a special on him on KHOU and they were talking to the costars of 8 simple rules. Which is the last show he was doing and that just brought tears to my eyes.
Exactly, it's sad he would unfortunately, die, while doing his sitcom in 2003. We still miss you John. You were the best.
Lawanda Dumore is such a hilarious evil southern bell. Especially when she threatens to send Junior to boarding school in Baghdad.
It was when the Gulf War, occur at the time.
Junior got the best of her.
I remember watching these and the Look Who’s Talking movies around the same time. Loved them as a kid!
I watched this so many times when I was a kid after it came out on VHS and then when they started showing it on cable.
This movie is a childhood guilty pleasure of mine. John Ritter was great. Amy yesbeck was a crush. Gilbert Gottfried was hilarious. The rigged carnival ride is always made me laugh.
The principal in the toilet was also a laugh.
Yeah Gottfried is still hilarious and really a national treasure :D Loved his appearance in that ship-cruise episode of "Married… with children".
"I hate Reboots" I love that shirt.
Yesss!! Love this movie so much! Thanks for doing this👍🏻
1. LOVE the shirt.
2. Gotta rewatch the Problem Child movies ASAP. Timeless classics. Thanks for this video Minty.
Thanks Minty! Another great video!!! Your awesome!
Your content is fantastic; sincerely, a binge watching 80's kid.
Way to go, Minty! Another great look into a comedy classic. Like you, I prefer this to the original too. Also, I love your t shirt.
Great video of childhood memories
While both great. Definitely loved the 2nd one the most. R.I.P. John Ritter.
A total 90's classic. loved it!!!!
John Ritter is an absolute icon. Jesus, I loved watching him on reruns of Three's Company growing up. Everyone was up in arms about Suzanne Sommers, I came and stayed for Jack Tripper, f'n classic. Forgot how beautiful his wife was too.
He was hilarious with those women. He worked with Don Knotts, from the Andy Griffith show.
Great movie !!! Thanks Minty !
I still have this on DVD
Love the T-shirt brother! Need to get me one of those. Great video too, as usual 👍I saw PC 2 in theaters as a kid & rented it often from my local BlockBuster to boot. Keep up the good work.✌️
Love it. Watched it all the time as a kid.
I've always found problem child 2 to be just as good as the original. A very worthy sequal
Even my old grumpy dad loves that movie back in the day when we had VHS and recorded it too. Still to this day we still watch them movie.
Wake up to a Minty upload?! Awesome! 🖤💜
YES, just like Child's Play 2 this is not only lightning in a bottle but also one of those special sequels that is the only one I NEED in terms of its characters and story:) Starting it out with Ben and Junior dressed alike and gunning it out of the awful Cold River to start their new life together lets you know stuff went on there that we can do just fine IMAGINING;) Big Ben and Peabody are back competing for best villain with Murph being one awesome school bully, but none of them beats the awesomeness that is LaWanda:)
The use of the primary colors, outrageous stunts, and gross-out stuff does such a good job making this seem like the best live-action cartoon, like there's just ENOUGH reality:) THE BARF SCENE!! The puke splashing all over everyone is worse than it coming out of their mouths!! And of course Junior filming Rhoda and her boyfriend for the neighborhood guys to watch...like WOW:):) I love when she's pigging out watching the show about pigs and he turns on Leave It To Beaver--"Yeah, don't forget that Junior and Ben actually DO have a really sweet Beaver and Ward relationship--IN AN INSANE ASYLUM!!"
Junior and Trixie's arc is the best, when they become friends and it turns into the crazy version of The Parent Trap--at the end when she jumps into his arms is the cutest thing ever:):) I can't believe they took out that ONE deleted scene that was a PLOT POINT! Leading of course to the food fight with the NASTIEST pizza I've ever seen in my LIFE!! I love when Junior so happily grins as Trixie tells him about having to practically kill every guy who comes on to Annie because she has to look out for her:)
Big Ben getting together with LaWanda is so great because they're SO perfect for each other you have to wonder how they didn't cross paths earlier so she could be the epic stepmother/grandmother from Hell for Ben AND Junior--that's even BETTER than what happened in the movie, seriously:)
This was a pretty fun sequel and really enjoyable. But the first one is my favorite. We were without any vomiting scenes and as far as the villain I would prefer the Bow Tie killer over Lawanda. Fun fact Christopher Lloyd was considered for the bow tie killer but turned it down and Michael Richards aka Kramer from Seinfeld accepted the role.
@@bryanrizzo9377 Yep, I know all of that trivia, I would've loved Christopher Lloyd. The first one is good for the bond that Ben forms with Junior until he rescues him at the carnival and they have the shootout car chase. It didn't have puke but it had pee, swearing, and Junior causing lots of destruction. I like the birthday party mayhem scene the most but for the overall movie for the original Junior and Ben I'll always prefer 2.
FUN FACT: the actress playing Trixie was actually one of the lead contenders for the role of Claudia in Neil Jordan's INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE and was very close to getting the part (however, when her parents read the script, they took her out of the running)
Ooh! Neat!
Kirsten was the first to audition and set the bar no one else could reach! But Ivyanne would have looked perfect as Claudia as well, can just imagine.
I’ll say it again and again: “Every movie or television show, involving John Ritter, is graced and blessed by his very screen presence and his acting. The man was and is, a Legend for comedy, a legend for kindness, and a legendary funnyman. Special nods and thanks for his work he did on “Bride of Chucky”
Cool video as always Minty, keep up the good work, take care and stay safe
I love your I Hate Reboots t-shirt! Problem Child was a rare instance of my watching the sequel more than the original Problem Child movie every time that they aired on television in the United States throughout the 90’s. It’s because of these Problem Child movies that i really miss John Ritter more than most other fallen celebrities with the exception of Sean Connery.
R.i.p John Ritter!!! He was a great actor. And I loveeee there movies. They were awesome.
The last movie he did was Bad Santa with Billy Bob Thorton
I'm with you, Minty. Definitely team PC2 over PC1.
Ahhhhh, this movie was fantastic! Hahahahha! Great Video, Minty! Lol
Minty, you are, indeed, a movie critic. And one of my favorite movie critics of all time!
I just love this guy for picking movies that nobody cares about anymore but were such a big part of my childhood/youth. Had this film on VHS and watched it over and over again. Always liked it more than Problem Child 1.
This was brilliant, but the first one is the best one.
Thank you for reviewing this. I was waiting for the Nostalgia critic to review it. But he's too busy reviewing current movies. smh. You gotta do Stay Tuned..
I used to love this movie! The first one too. I wouldn’t be opposed to watching them both right now. Great movies
Great movies that will never be forgotten.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the shirt Minty!!!
Thank you for this 👏👏 And the second one is definitely better then the original.
Bro I am so glad you finally have done this movie!!!!!!
This was awesome I loved this movie as a kid and I’m so glad that you gave it the credit that it deserved 😄
Ty for another great video! ❤️
I loved this movie when I was growing up. I should watch it again!!
Minty you are great! Thank you! I remember the puking scene and electrocution scene freaked me out as a child
A classic couple of movies. Macauley Culkin and this dude killed it in their movies. They shouldve had both kids in a movie together called Lil' Bastardz
JR:"Why have you been bugging me?"
Trixie:"This MY SCHOOL! I'll bug whoever I want!"
JR:"OH YEAH? Says who?"
Trixie:"ME AND MY M-80!!!"
Trixie was SAVAGE AF!!!
Great Video, Thank you. Pump it up!
I loved Problem Child and Problem 2 great childhood memories watching these movies.!
Finally! More hidden gems like this please mint-meister
your shirt speaks volumes ;) love it
Good morning from Austin, Texas Minty!
Honestly I loved this movie as much as the 1st one and I hope I can find it to own on dvd someday 🤷🏼♀️
Nice! A Round the Twist shoutout! Never heard that before!
Love your shirt, Minty!!!
About Time!
I liked this one over the first as a kid too. I watched this one a lot back in the 90s.
"I'm gonna have the biggest nose the world has ever seen"!
Lawanda had it and she got surgery to removed the nose.
Love your videos wish you would do one on the lone ranger thx. Have a great day
Love the shirt!
Damn I need a shirt like that lol. Keep up the work!
Ah yes, the movie where Martha Quinn gets electrocuted!
I enjoy 1 and 2
That Crazy Dance ride looks fun!
I like this one better than the first one. I just watched it again the other day as a 37 year old man and it still holds up. Great humor. You should do a ten things on KICKBOXER 2 with Sasha Mitchell from the show Step by Step.
Actually got to watch this movie in school as a kid; was how I got introduced to it. Loved it ever since.
Great movie. Also love the shirt
My mom showed me PC1 and PC2 as a kid, I LOVED both movies, I would rent them all the time.
I sure miss watching VHS movies from the 90s.
Love the shirt minty!
Love first one and Second one cool films
I am hooked on your videos!! You do a great job on the reviews and they all are very informative! Please, Please do a review of the happy and child friendly movie "Flowers in the Attic"
😲
My sister and I loved this series!!! Part 2 is so much better than part 1 in my option
There was probably a one in a million chance that I would have ever watched this movie. I can't express how grateful I am that you have reduced that, by one, to a zero in a million chance. Thank you Minty.
Great job Minty!
I love your shirt Minty.
