The more I think about President Biden handing the torch to VP Harris, the more I appreciate his wisdom and unparalleled service to country over self. Whether his exit from the stage was a carefully orchestrated plan all along, or just the result of political fallout, we may never know and probably doesn't matter. Term Limits for all public offices

I have a life long close friend who has spent his entire career in journalism, rising from reporter to editor (major respected newspaper) to professor. When we would discuss the need for the press to hold itself to a much better standard he would say 'well, a lot of them don't like to work too hard and they really enjoy their time at the hotel bar'. But then there are journalists like Lawrence O'Donnell who give us great hope.....

Everything Trump does is based on his fictional view of life, people, and events in general, particularly anything he cannot abide or understand. Just the things he cannot understand would be more than enough...

My father died of old age and respiratory difficulties, after a few years of senile dementia. During his worst moments he was able to tell stories that were the result of fragments of different actual events being assembled into complete but fictional tales.
Trump has just done exactly what my poor father did more and more often as he lost all contact with reality. However, my father knew he was messing up and would isolate himself to cry his eyes out every time he drove himself into a hopeless narrative. We were advised to let him be and distract him with a snack shared with as many of us as possible as soon as he stopped weeping. When Trump's dementia is in a phase where he is not completely "lost" I detest him and those who use him. When he is in crisis, as he could have been for the "helicopter episode", I pity him for that moment and detest all those who profit from his very sick state. (Otherwise it's far simpler: I detest the lot of them.)
Trump's need for a clinical mental health examination is now perfectly clear. Good luck to anyone who gets the job of getting that examination organised, a medal to the person who executes it, and every available medal for exceptional courage to the person who informs Trump of the results.
