  • Craig Button joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss how the Senators can finish strong and be prepared for next season, how they can improve their goaltending situation, and why the roster they currently have can’t seem to get the job done.

    Using Craig Buttons’s GM history as a reference for anything would lead to even worse outcomes.

    Offense hasn't been the issue for the last few years its the defense and goaltending man ive been watching the Sens out shoot other teams for the last few years but will let in 3 on 19 shots or something along those lines its unacceptable

    He's not wrong. How many years do these kids think they get? Some of these young core guys have skill, but not enough heart and discipline. The only players Id protect in the offseason are Brady, Stutzle, Sanderson and Greig. The rest are fair game in my books.

    I think lots of changes coming to Ottawa.

    I would trade Chabot and Chychrun for 2 stay at home defenders. 2 young defenders with lots of energy. Similar to Zub. And if Norris keeps on getting hurt, Trade him for a Center or goalie before it's too late.

      Chabot is a pilon. If trade him for a bag of pucks.

    Trade Brady to the Canes.
    Gives us the best rivalry in the NHL with Brady vs Matthew Carolina vs Florida.
    Brady and Chyc for Necas, Pesce, Jackson Blake and a first.

      @gerryp3628 2 месяца назад

      First off Ottawa won't trade Brady. Secondly Brady and Matthew do not engage each other when playing, they avoid each other. Third that offer is garbage

      @@gerryp3628 never say never and the offer is pretty good if they are trying to move and not retool the whole roster. Top 6 forward, top 4 D man, probable Hobey Baker finalist and a first for those two is a pretty good return

      @@canesfan1526You're off by a country mile on return. Why in the world would Ottawa trade him? He's signed long term.
      Blow the doors off or else he's never getting moved. It would take Slavin and 4 1sts for the Sens to even listen because he's untouchable.

    Yeah and Button said they were top of the league. Don't believe the bs. The players, former GM and especially the media are lying to you. Button is full of 8t!

    Patience, one of the youngest teams in the league. Switching out their core would be a mistake. Shuffle the deck on goaltending and shore up the third D pairing.

    Don't trade anyone, the Sens were plagued with injuries for two years, and last year and half of this year had a not so good coach.
