I think a ps1 mode version of Resi 7 or 8 would be great as a bonus extra for completing the game or for succeeding in doing certain tasks within the main game.
It looks amazing is it just an animation rather than a playable demo type thing? You guys did a really good job either way. I will say though it seems strange that you wouldn't make it in the style of the original God of War since you have a very clear template to work from.
Very few of these are actual demakes. You can't have a demake with modern hardware required. The lighting didn't exist, a portrait wasn't just blurry cause it was on old hardware, that's not how it worked. It was clear against early polygon art. An absolute farce for most of these. The Resident Evil one? Yeah, that's pretty dope. Tank controls and the aesthetic was great. God of War one? Absolute joke.

It might be interesting to see Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and Sly Cooper get a PS1 Demake. For a non Sony IP Demake, I'd say Valkyria Chronicles 1.
I love demakes but people don't make them like they used to. I'm seeing a lot more advanced lighting and textures lately that take the heart out of it all
That is because "modern demakes" aren't demakes, they didn't use the limited hardware, they just make a game with modern hardware that look like a ps1 game. Basically, they are just bad modern games with a ps1 texture pack.

I'd anybody wants to see demakes they should look at the Nintendo DS and even Gameboy Advance. Its very cool seeing how it looked different from other consoles but what amazed me was the fact that it even ran on a Nintendo DS or GBA. Even if some had a poor framerate it's still impressive seeing them on that hardware
The animation of the game demakes from 64bits is really good and amazing, but it's a shame it's just an animation, I think it's great if someone makes the game, hehe.. Btw nice video bro, great content!! 👍
I think a DEAD BY DAYLIGHT DEMAKE should be a splitscreen 4 players game with multitap or even better, an 8 players game using 2 Playstation 1 classic consoles linked , each one with multitap.

These aren't PS1 demakes. These are merely demakes utilizing PS1 aesthetics. The only legit one (which isn't even on the list, what a joke) is Resident Evil Zero demake. Meaning: you can actually play it on your PS1.
That God of war demake can't be done on PS1. It's closer to PS2 if anything, especially with 60fps. I think only resident evil 4 and 7 can technically be done on PS1.
They look awesome. I'd love to see until dawn or alien isolation. 98Demake does some really cool ones like assassins creed, uncharted and even fallout new Vegas for the game boy.
Apart from the RE ones (which .. duh ... they literally copied the exact style of the PS1 RE games), maybe the Dead Space one, and Bloodborne PSX none of these look like they could have run on the PS1. Either framerate, or fidelity, or little things like no texture jitter gives them away. The Death Stranding one is especially shit, looking just like a bland 2022 indie game.
You should’ve mentioned the Fortnite demake by BlobVanDam. I absolutely love the attention to detail in that video! And I’m not even a huge fan of Fortnite! 😂
these would be much more impressive on the ps2 or og xbox, they'd come even closer but with lower graphics and resolution. it'd be similar to running the lowest modern version but turned down a bit.
in fact if it has a pc version you could get a very similar feel with a pc (by turning things down and/or running on a lower than recommended specs pc with coding that will work (plus some tricks)
I'm playing RE4 for the first time and boy is it strange feeling. Since I've really only played the newer third person titles, the controls just feel so off for me. I'm trying to use the mouse to look around, but then I die lol

With how old the movement/camera feels, especially compared to newer titles. The controller might translate better, here's to hoping lol I dunno maybe I'm just weird for thinking the movement/camera feels weird lol

Yes it would. 80% of ROM space is graphics. Lowered graphics means much more space on the rom to program actions and behaviors. These games absolutely could be done on the PS1 as long as the resolution is capped.
A little while following this, we got a Dead Space demake using the over the shoulder perspective. And if that is what it woulda looked like back in the 90s, it'd be damn revolutionary.
One of my favorite games of all time is the Spider-Man game made by Neversoft… so combine that with the new Spider-Man’s open world I’d have a nostalgic orgasm
Also it's pretty sad when the thumbnail of Ellie looks better than the actual movie HBO thing they are making. Ellie in the live action for HBO makes me just constantly look at her forehead being an 8 head
Bloodborne is the only one that managed to get the looks right. The others are either trying too hard or just feel like one generation apart. RE4 is in a weird middle spot, because it's an actual RE2 mod (should've been done on RE3 instead for the engine improvements) Framerate and lighting are more important than polygon count.

Nope, pretty much all of them, except the ones that use the RE engine are complete unplayable on ps1 hardware.
