My one and only problem with this channel is that these videos are too short. Just as I'm whisked away into another sublime world of fantasy, then I'm called back to reality. As usual, another wonderful story, thank you x
I love that she hasn't changed all the things that make the place so unbelievably charming 💕🥰
Agreed!
Quintessence is a breath of fresh air!! *Always* worth watching!!❤️😍❤️
Thanks so much!!
Thank you for leaving this alone and not changing its history..Relax, its a place to just relax. love it
It’s simple, cozy, warm and unpretentious... THAT’S why all guests are so comfortable there. Goes to show how we often don’t need so many of the ‘extras’ or ‘finishing touches’ we think we do.
Absolutely LOVE IT... Reminds me of old Florida Beach Shacks that don’t exist anymore. I looked online for days trying to recapture my 1970’s old Florida vacations. Why can’t we ever embrace imperfect perfection????
Right?! Just love everything about this too!
I grew up spending summers in our family’s rambling old beach house. The reason you can’t find them any more is hurricane damage. 😢 It’s not that people don’t still want them as they were back in the day. If hurricanes left authentic summer places unharmed, the ugly, newly-built MacMansions caused property taxes to escalate & locale people could no longer afford their family’s summer home. 😟 So sad. It had nothing whatsoever to do with not wanting imperfections. It had everything to do with hurricanes damaging homes which owners could not afford to rebuild so ultra wealthy swooped in & demolished. This happened time & again all up & down both coasts of Florida. ☀️ Be happy with you memories.
Cenepk101, Those structures were beautiful to me as well & many withstood storms, etc, otherwise we wouldn't have had the chance to enjoy them for decades. A perfectly coiffed hotel room doesn't instill a feeling of tradition & warmth for me.
@@twistoffate4791 Totally agree.
@@twistoffate4791 Would be a great opportunity for an architect & designer ( pick me !!!! )
That lady is real jewel (and a ‘catbird’ as well). The lodge gave off great vibes. Thanks for sharing this!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed!
wow, what an incredible journey to take that place on and create those years of memories there for family.. talk about “thinking outside the box” with an actual camp..I love it.
Alexandra definitely has a natural elegance and sophistication about her. Amazing!
Couldn't agree more!! Thank you for watching!
This shows how all people, regardless of social class, just want to have fun being together with family & friends having no expectations other than wanting everyone to relax, unstress, & not worry about all the kids run around a beautifully decorated & expense home. Thus is truly the best gift they gave to themselves & their growing family. It’s wonderful in every way! Your own family camp, WOW!!!!
EXACTLY!!! And couldn't agree more - I ADORE Alexandra's Camp Kent!
I’m in love with the fireplace mantel in the main bedroom! The branches "growing" through it are such a great idea
Finally a rustic home! I loved the wood all over and the wooded beams! I would love to see more rustic-style or southwestern style homes!
I just love every episode on this channel.
Thanks so very much!!
That couple .. polite, giving, elegant, lovely .. Great video as always !
They are and thank you - so glad you enjoyed!
Perfect for its purpose. I have to confess I'm tired of looking at editorials of supposed vacation homes that are designed and styled to the nth degree. How do people relax in them? This place looks easy to relax and have fun in.
It IS - exactly!! So glad you enjoyed!
Same, dhgemein2. Anything that's sleek & looks like no one of the human variety resides there simply doesn't engage my interest.
I watched this twice and plan for many more viewings. I love the home retreat and location by the lake and the bathtub painted red. I would not paint the walls either. Wow. I plan to buy the book on children's bedroom design. Quintessence always lifts my spirits.
Thank you and thrilled you’ll by the book!!! 🙏🙏🙏✅🙏
Thank you and thrilled you’ll by the book!!! 🙏🙏🙏✅
"Hello Mudda, hello Fadda," looks wonderful fun for all. Lazy Susan terrific on the picnic table.
Here I am at Camp Grenada...
Thank you , thank you Susanna and Stacey! This home is just so charming! 💕💕💕💕💕💕
I think this maybe the most unique places you have ever shot! So cool! Thanks for showing us..x w
I always look forward to your videos! Thank you!
Thank YOU!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I would name this Camp Happy and would spend as much time possible enjoying this gorgeous place among the trees.
Exactly!! 😃
Enchanting as always. Thanks for another wonderful visit!!
I don’t think I can ever go back to living in an apartment after seeing this. Beautiful space and gorgeous place!
I understand!! Glad you enjoyed!
@@quintessenceblg as always! The gorgeous homes you’ve featured are truly a joy to behold and watch. Warm greetings from the Himalayas!
@@spoolartist Thank you and how amazing!! Do you live in Nepal?
@@quintessenceblg no, I live in Bhutan 🇧🇹
Never have I liked an octagon picnic table more in my life - duplicating several now! As always, thanks for the sharing inspiration + lives simply lived!
Isn't it great?! Of course a great compliment that you are duplicating!
That was lovely and so laid back and comfortable and nice they kept all of the original features. Just beautiful.
One of my absolute favorites! I have always loved old camps like this . . . xoxoxo
Me too - so glad you enjoyed!
I love this woman and this place. What a wondrous thing she is!
The perfect place for a family! Large, yet still cozy.

@@jamesrobinson3271 Thank you!! So glad you enjoy!
Wonderful! More please!!! 🤗🤗🤗
What a beautiful place for a family to gather.
Thank you so much for showing this unbeliveble home. Alexandra Champalimaud must have portuguese roots. Champalimaud family is very important in Portugal. I do love your videos! I'm waiting for the next!!!!
Once again taken to a far away dream . Family , just wonderful she aside her ego as a professional and created a space that will first & foremost be remembered as Family . Just lovely.💖
Exactly!!
Unique in its own functional way. Like living off the land!
I love Susanna’s new book! I will be writing about it soon. And of course this is another sublime video. These videos are a balm for crushing despair. Thank you. 💙🦋💙
So glad you like her book and so happy you love our series!!
Wealth and style , it really can exist!
Always unexpected and amazing. Thank you❤️
Bonjour Suzanna and Stacy ! What a great pleasure to find your video this afternoon, while I am enjoying a cup of coffee. This visit was so fun, such a place to relax and enjoy life without a fuss ; a place "where laughter prevail " (she said) ! I love that philosophie where you are in nature in such a rustic place. I could not help myself but noticing the letters QC on top of the fire place : those two letters represent the name of my province Québec which brought a smile to my face, of course. Anyway, a lovely place where " Ugly is perfect and stays un touch " I love that woman :) This visit made a bit nostalgic because right now, we are experiencing the third wave of the pandemic, all the Spring camps - which are called CABANE À SUCRE will be closed - those camps usually open in Spring and they welcome large group of people to celebrate Spring and the arrival of new Maple Syrup : we go there to eat - dance - eat the syrup put on the fresh coat of snow, finally, we enjoy the awakening of nature and it is wonderful just like the moment we just spent here with you today. Thank you my friends, take good care, stay safe and keep enjoying life - Rosalind - oxox
Thank YOU Rosalind!! I love that you always "get it"!! And Alexandra lived in Canada before she moved to the US - hence the QC! Hers is an amazing story which explains her desire to have a place that tells her expanded family's story as well!! Hoping you emerge from this current wave safe, unscathed and inspired! xx
Thank you for the much needed inspiration ❤
Our pleasure - so glad you enjoyed!
I love how she builds a room to keep the history and the ease of living. Thank you so much for sharing. As always, a lovely visit.

What a fantastic place. Love it!
We do too! Glad you enjoyed!
Outdoor dining with that view ! Summarises what a vacation should be
Yes!!
I adore this place! What a lovely setting.
fantastic! I love the October leaves surrounding
the jewel of this family retreat.. I can vision grandkids playing, laughter from adults drinking fine wine and everyone eating well! The dogs are a must like icing on the cake! And that fireplace 😍thank you for sharing this!

Absolutely perfect 👌. It would be a dream to spend a month there.
Relaxing!
How much did you love your little fan watching? That pup was cute. I love the flags. I have a dozen flags from many wonderful countries. They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Just wonderful! I live every aspect of this fun place!
This intro, this channel makes me happy ♥️
Thank you!! Delighted to hear that!

EUREKA!!! As an empty nester I have been planning on purchasing land and creating something for my children and grandchildren, just haven't been able to quite figure out how it would work. Well, I'll be darned if this amazing video (AS ALWAYS) just flipped on the lights in my head!!! Thank you again for an amazing and inspiring video.
That whole.place speaks to my soul!
What a great place to create family memories. So jealous! I love your vest. I have one very much like it from the 70's!
A yummy place to see and feel! I love it! Exactly as it is and love to hear about the large group gatherings so important today and every day! Thank you for sharing!
I love how everything was kept original..leaving all the paneling, graffiti and character. What a fun place for the grandchildren...and adults that stay there! I can imagine the parties. It's so casual..the type of place in that you feel totally comfortable. I love the videos..always a treat! Would it be possible for you to link up their tour of the other house? I would love to see it. Thank you. :)
Enjoyable episode! A place where you can really relax and enjoy --- a great retreat, indeed! Alexandra seems to have started to celebrate before your arrival! ;-)
SUPER !!!!😍😍😍
Omg. I don't even HAVE children (except for my three fur-children) but that white bunny chair in the kids' decor section ahead of the regular video finds me desiring a bunny chair for myself, and I'll even permit visiting children to sit on it.
I'm probably weird, but I like knotty pine- especially in settings like that one.
And I need to know how Susanna keeps her white denims so white and clean while going everywhere and visiting... I'm afraid to ever wear mine!
So beautiful home in a beautiful place. Love this.
Thank you so much!
How beautiful! What a wonderful place! Thank you for the video!
Beijinho Alexandra o bom gosto e o saber receber português! Cabe sempre mais um à mesa! Love it
If there is ever an opportunity to go back to this camp and do an in-depth tour, please know it would be much appreciated. This is one of my favorite places of all time, and this video just barely shows the many lovely spaces. Thank you for sharing it! I'd watch an hour long video of this lovely place!
so much fun!
Indeed! 👍🏻👍🏻
Love it ❤
Sublime!
Beautiful. Please book me in!
Connecticut is home 🏡. Thanks.
You can imagine the fun and banter the family's would have beside the lake, and I'm sure the odd row... It looks wonderful, how lucky are they.... Greetings from Ireland 🍀🇮🇪💚

Yes!!!! My weekend is complete now that you posted a video!! I just love them!! Loved that fireplace and thought it was great when Alexandra said, "Ugly is perfect here." Taking in that room, wow how lucky to have that space. She's the perfect caretaker and I loved the kitchen. My kind of place! Just beautiful!
Couldn't agree more and if you check out her website you will see what a departure this is from her super luxurious client designs

I'm sure its fine being there but I just couldn't get the Meatballs movie with Bill Murray out of my head while you were walking around.
I worked at this camp (Camp Kent)...we used to sing songs from the movie all the time.
"We get married at the Church" God has truly blessed to her.
Went to Camp Kent.. started at age 10.. my summer home..Alexandra will you allow a camp reunion at our old home?
Amazing! You would have to write to her!
@@quintessenceblg a few of us were talking about contacting her several years ago when we discovered an article and another video of the transformation of Camp Kent.. It was our lifeline for the summers..Maybe it is time as a few of us have since left this earth..
Portugal 🔝🔝
👍🏻👍🏻
Was this camp Wonposet? My sons went there in the 1960s
Camp Kent. I worked there. It's transition is frequently disdussed on the alumni FB group.
When we will see Russian home or apartment in Moscow or Sant Petersburg?
“Local carpenter to bang the thing together” hit my ear wrong. It would have been really engineered by that gal or guy who banged the thing together.
I love all your videos just wish they were at least 20 or more minutes long. It seems that you are rushing through all of your videos.
We show as much as we can and what is there to film. There is no rush.
demasiado grandes son fríos grandes no me gusta ya la pandemias
FUR????? I hope it's fake.....graffitti on the walls? Looks like damn Soho... please......
Yes of course my fur is fake. Why don’t you take your negativity elsewhere Larry
I enjoy watching the channel but I am wondering if you ever feature a home of someone who is not white? Just an observation. The choice of home owners certainly seem to lack diversity.
