    In case you didn’t know. . .
    For just shine - use egg white or egg white and a bit of water.
    For browning - use the yolks. 😂.

    I’ve made several of your recipes and you have also shown me how to score my sourdough loaves so that it doesn’t have a huge ear. The ear is impressive but not very conducive to storage OR cutting the loaf to make sandwiches. This one had me nervous because I made the day before Thanksgiving to bake the day of. Seems reverse of normal sourdough bulk fermenting in the fridge to score and immediately put in a screaming hot oven. But to my delight, they puffed up and baked up perfectly! Thank you!

    I went to the website and followed the recipe per gram. I first mixed like she said. When I saw my dough after the first Jorie it was a goopy mess! Then I tried to add more flour. To no avail. This recipe is terrible.

    Thanks for posting recipes in user friendly way!! 2 questions , Can I use AP instead of Bread Flour? Can I leave it in the fridge for more than 36 hrs? Thanks 🙏

      The all purpose has less dough strength to support a good rise. It also breaks down faster in fermentation. I’ve been adding a bit of vital wheat gluten when I use all purpose flour and I can feel and see the difference! I hope yours came out great!

    How do you decide on the size/wt for each roll? Do you weigh the dough first then divide it by the desired number?

    Is butter ok on top. My husband hates egg wash. I typically use honey or maple syrup instead

    Help....I wanted these to work out so badly. I LOVE Hawaiian rolls and sour dough. I don't know WHAT happened, but my dough, after the first rise ,was soooo wet that I couldn't turn it out, even with a dough scraper. I had to ADD lots of flour (quantity to feel to bring it into a consistency that I could even roll by hand). I don't have a mixer. I make all of my sourdough by hand. Any suggestions? I did hand knead the dough with 4 sets of stretch and pulls and 20-30min rest between stretch and pulls. It rose great over night, except it is sooooo wet and sticky.

      This is exactly what happened to me. This recipe is incorrect! So frustrating!

      Yes. This is why I’m in the comments. I have tried actually 3 different peoples Hawaiian rolls recipes. All 3 turned out this way. So I’m not sure if it’s the recipes that are wrong… or me. 😂 but what I’m sure of is that it’s NOT as simple as sure makes it look. My dough on all 3 came out like muffin mix. Not bread dough so 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I messed up 😅 I got your peach cobbler recipe mixed up with this one I think. 😮 Oh well. I printed your recipe out for both and tried watching the videos. 😂 Well we'll see tomorrow.

    I dont think your grams conversion is correct. my starter was active but my dough was super dry. I see in the video your measuring in cups.
