I like our odds at picking Desnoyers, we can EASELY trade up to snatch him, I really liked him last year as a rookie in the Q and really impressed at the world junior
Not gonna happen… Unless the Habs have a disastrous season then maybe. But if they stay healthy it’s likely they have the 13th-15th overall pick and if they make the playoffs it will be lower… no way fully healthy the Habs have a top 10 pick.
@@tylerlussier1896 I agree, but if Montreal gets serious injuries to key players like Suzuki early in the season or the goalies get a bad year, they will then surely pick top10...time will tell !!!
I'm no expert and don't know much about this draft class but 17 points in D minus 1 doesn't exactly scream 2nd overall but then again Slaf's stats didn't exactly scream first overall either at least his Liiga stats that is.
Are you referring to a 16-year-old defenceman's stats as a CHL rookie? Yep - I wouldn't pay much attention to that. He will prosper this season I think.
@@recruteshockey9700 Agreed. I have watched Shaefer a decent amount. I’m not a scout by any means, But I have been watching hockey for 30 years, And you can see the upside in Schaefer’s game. It’s not all about points you look at how he plays and if he has a big year there I can see him being in the top 3 for sure. I wouldn’t say first overall but second or third I can see.
But yet he’s still playing good and on a 30 goal 53 point pace over these 9 games he’s played… I’m not worried about Demidov. He’s going to get 20+ goals 40+ points and then come to Montreal next season and begin his NHL career.
Good show, Shayne & Grant! Hockey is back boys!
great show guys !!
Yes, I agree, definitely worth watching, especially since it is entirely possible that the Habs will draft in the top five again.
Cam Schmidt was my favorite at Hlinka Gretzky cup... guy missing size but oh men he was good... already 4 goals in 2 games so far..

I hope that Habs can grab one of McQueen of Ryabkin in the next draft to end the rebuild.

Emile Guite, not Emil
That team (SKA) is doing everything they possibly can to stifle his productivity.

@@tylerlussier1896 I never said i was worried about Demidov. He is clearly in their top forwards and they treat him like a bottom 6.
Roger McDach. For 6'5", sure he is mobile. But in general, like compared to Misa or Martone or Frondell, he ain't very fleet on his skates.
Are Kopitar, Draisairl, Malkin etc. fleet on their skates? He is plenty fast for his size. Great prospect.
@@GrantMcCagg-yn4fy He is not nearly as talented as those 3 players

The next Kirby Dach? What's that supposed to mean, "the next always injured big guy that hasn't proven shit"?
You angry bro? You seem angry. You must be a hoot with the ladies. A cpl untimely injuries and you come with this? You def hit women.
You're in the wrong place.
