Great content as usual, too bad that, just like with other cards - except for the 4090 and not to exact the same degree - the naming and the price are disappointing. If they sold this as 4060 Ti - the actual replacement being the 3060 Ti if you look at the specs - for 499$, it would have been a banger.
@@SedatedSloth 400 you crazy? - Were not in 2018 no more. Companies charge what they can, and inflation is through the roof. I agree on the 499$, would be justified for the current economy.

I really appreciate you testing it out and having a grid. I wanted to see how much watts it would take. With it at a low 180-190 I can definitely be able to upgrade with it and not have to get a better power supply.
It's a shame you don't possess a 6700xt, 6800 or 6800xt as these are some of the best value cards at the moment, particularly as vram has become such an issue lately.
while vram is an issue for 8GB nvidia card owners, their cards can handle ray tracing in most of their games with less massive framedrops than a 12GB 6700XT or a 16GB 6800 will get. I think it takes a 6800 XT to get the same fps with ray tracing on, as a 3070 gets with ray tracing.
@@telepop123 according to the hardware unboxed video, the 3070 gets 10 fps in callisto protocol at 1440p ray tracing on due to alleged vram overflow. thankfully there's plenty of other real benchmark videos that prove different, showing it gets 45 fps on average. i know he has a lot of subs but thats why i dont trust him.
@@ImperialDiecast There most definitely is VRAM overflow on demanding new games, even at 1080p, for 8 GB VRAM GPUs. I benchmarked a 3060 Ti and 5700 XT recently. Both ran out of VRAM, spilled over into system RAM, and stuttered badly when I tested Diablo 4 on 1080p ultrawide at high settings. Forspoken and a few others had slight stuttering as well due to VRAM limitations, again on 1080p ultrawide. The 3070/Ti should never have come out with 8 GB of VRAM for 1440p gaming.
I’m about to build my first pc (been buying shitty pre builts every time so far) and I’ve been looking at the 4070 super. But after watching this man… the regular 4070 seems like a damn powerful card!! So excited to play games and not have them look like skippy jumpy bullshit all the time
It is! I upgraded to 4070 from 1060 6GB and the jump in FPS is insane. I was a bit bummed that I didn't take Super because of my absolute lack of research on the market recently and cheapest Super was only 50$ more than my 4070 but I'm still freaking happy in how it performs. I used to have 40 FPS in Witcher 3 on high-uber settings and now I have even over 150 FPS on Uber+ settings and around 60 FPS with Raytracing (not great but Raytracing in W3 is pretty badly optimised) so 4070 compared to my 1060 is quite a beast 😁 One thing that kinda makes me less angry about not getting Super though is 200 W power draw in 4070 compared to 220W in Super and I also care a lot about power consumption because I don't want my electricity bills to ruin me hah
You are my favourite benchmarker because you let me see the cards and really explain stuff, I get to pretend I have the same equipment and am not actually broke for an hour or so

DLSS, good RT performance and low power consumption is what makes this card more appealing to me than 7800 XT, and they're both currently priced similarly in EU (less than €50 difference). I'll just wait a few more months until the prices settle and when we see FSR 3.0 in action.

This is a really well put together video, great job! Small feedback though, when it comes to ESports games like Fortnite for instance, I feel like many people are just as if not more interested in seeing how many FPS you can push on competitive settings, rather than how high you can push the graphics settings. Like for story games, I'm happy to target 60fps and crank the visuals as high as they go, but I don't know anybody who plays Fortnite with ray tracing enabled, I'd be much more interesting in seeing how well it could target 240fps on competitive settings for instance.
no, if you can run fort at high or max settings with like 150 fps why would you need to see the comp settings, you can easily assume that you will get 300 400 fps
@@rellosapostolos2266 Perhaps, for instance, I wanted to see if I cold run whatever game at 240fps at a given resolution. I already know ABOUT how well the game should be able to run, but by that logic, why not just save yourself a whole video by simply saying "the card is really powerful" and instructing the viewer to assume it can probably run most games really well at high frame-rates.
If you're not limited by the GPU (by using low/comp settings), the cpu starts to matter more. And the review is not about the cpu. Trying to squeeze the max fps out of the highest settings is the best indication of performance.

I had hoped the 4070 may perform a little better, though it wasn't too bad over all. In well optimised titles, it really looks good at 1440p. For about $600 though..... Graphics cards are still ridiculously expensive.

@@gamewizard1760 Well, you obviously are not old enough to remember what the price of cards was BEFORE the mining craze. For a xx70 class card, 600 is expensive. Even with inflation.

@@ImperialDiecast There most definitely is VRAM overflow on demanding new games, even at 1080p, for 8 GB VRAM GPUs. I benchmarked a 3060 Ti and 5700 XT recently.

Definitely. At least turn the settings down to medium or high instead of maxed out
no, if you can run fort at high or max settings with like 150 fps why would you need to see the comp settings, you can easily assume that you will get 300 400 fps
