@Josh T. Wailmer's cry is pretty much the only one that isn't hurt by a slowed tempo, which makes it almost sound like a downsampled Gen 4 cry that doesn't use MIDI instruments (cough Bidoof cough).

Gen 3 is where the cries really start to kick off. They get much more unique and move away from the generic low/rough noises common in gens 1 and 2
True, but it's a shame the remasters for gen 1 and 2 still sound earrapy.

Out of all those cries, my favorite is likely Mightyena's, though I also like the weather trio's cries. Gardevoir also has an amazing, recognizable cry.

I remember pokemon sapphire being my first pokemon game. I still remember how beautiful the cartridge was. Gen 3 truly was a great experience. I remember how desperate I was to find a bagon (almost the end of the game, but it was worth it). We then got emerald with both antagonist teams and both kyogre and groudon to be caught in certain areas. And let's not forget the battle frontier and all the bullshit that had to be endured in order to fight the frontier brains.

Gen 3 classic has probably the 2nd best gen of cries for me, the cries just feel so warm and mystical..
I like the cries of this gen the most. There is a lot of variation and evolutions often don't just sound like a lower version of the previous one. They also embody the character of the pokemon better. I love Masquerain, Delcatty, Manectric, Cradily, Chimecho, Clamperl and Deoxys.
Tropius has a powerful cry, like a legendary. For some reason it reminds me of Salamence and Rayquaza.
This comment was what I was looking for. When I first heard tropius's cry I thought it was probably related to legendaries.

Gen 3 had the best designs, and the original cries are the best of any generation. They are all actually so unique and individual. The updated ones just don't compare.

Barboach and Whiscach cries were always a inside joke to me and my brother, we would say "OWW" and then "OOOOWWWW" just for the fun of it, when mentioning one of the two
I love that they're a lot more advanced than the gen 1 and 2 cries, but you can still hear some of the old electronic sound in them. its really neat imo

My favorite cries are Aggron and Pelipper. Aggron because it's the coolest one and Pelipper because it makes me nostalgic for Sinnoh (and they ruined it when they decided to "fix" the old cries)

I used to think that Roselia evolved into Gulpin as a kind of "cocoon" stage, until I caught one of course. Doesn't help that they're right next to each other in the Pokédex and have similar colour schemes.
