[A Library Battle Simulation]
Library of Ruina is a game that uses the concept of a “Library Battle Simulation”.
You will invite guests to the Library and engage in combat with them to gain 'Books' with their stories.
Battles are played with the 'Librarians' and the 'Guests' using cards and dice.
You can plan against the guests’ moves by looking at the cards they will use and select the most optimal card to oppose them.
When combat begins, how the dice from your chosen card fall will determine victory or defeat in the struggle.
However, the outcome of the dice is not simply determined by pure luck.
Certain effects and variables will shift the outcome of the dice for and against your favor.
Be sure to carefully choose which cards you utilize to win the battle with your guests.
Behold the outcome of your choices and how luck unfolds as your librarians and guests skirmish.
You can go through an exhilarating experience, putting it all on the line with thrills just like betting.
[Conflicts that Build Emotion]
Confrontation in the Library is not just about killing your enemies, it is about heightening emotions.
The emotions of the librarians and guests rise as the battle progresses, and as it grows fiercer and comes to a head, they will surge.
Depending on your librarian's feelings, positive outcomes or powerful effects with penalties can occur.
In addition, as the emotional tension of the guests grows, the difficulty of combat increases, yet at the same time, rarer books can be acquired.
Furthermore, dialogue can appear depending on the situation of the battle and will make one’s viewing experience of the match unfolding even more enjoyable.
[Books Can Be Anything]
A guest who dies in the Library will turn into a book.
These books can be a librarian's body, materials to grow the Library, or new cards for battle.
You can also use books as the parts of an invitation to bring forth another guest.
Invite different guests to acquire various books, then utilize them accordingly.
How you make use of your collection to grow the Library is up to you.
I know there's an audio issue around 5 minutes in, I have no idea what caused it, I promise I didn't screw up on the editing this time discord.gg/foreman
Fortunately the issue only lasts until the end of that fight
The sound effect is playing as intended, It’s meant to be a ticking sound because the Woodsman is a robot. All of its gears are rusty so they make this unpleasant sound.
Considering Hesed creating coffee from light and light gathered from dead guests, he technically is creating coffee from people
Which isn't more objectionable than growing coffee on a cemetery, tbh.
SOYLE- COFFEE IS PEOPLE
"They're mostly ranged" he says moments before losing his lower jaw to a rifle butt.
Also, if you're ever desperate to run Keter, a little build for you. So you know how pinochio has the Lies and Curiosity pages that randomize costs and gives card economy? Deck full of 3 costs. Bit of a meme deck but it's plenty fun and solid if you get it off. You can even give it to yourself!
Fun fact about the Thumb's bayonets: they are actually primarily beating sticks, bullets are a bonus. They have gravity manipulating tech installed in them that greatly increases the weight of the gun in the middle of a melee attack.
Let me remind you that being a clerk in lobcorp is what being a feather to a wing is like and often stated the employees and clerks in Lobcorp are no worse or better off than any other wing feather.
So yeah with this comparison being a feather isn't much better than being in the backstreets
Ah yes. The thumb. The reception that shows that singular strike is NOT a meme.
I mean Kim exists either way.
Woodsman really has a different type of fight now, huh. I remember fighting him the the first time and he can just...get like 15+ power or something
pov: you acidentally played a light neutral turn
Ah yes, when you play light regen in woodsman supression 😂
@@Local-NPC Wasn't it also compounded by the Warm Heart buff? I forgot the fight already because the last time I fought this guy, it was during early access
Alyss happens to be here
@@Alyssciel if I remember is, one of woodsman counter die has "give 1 strenght on hit", it's play once or twice each scene if I'm not wrong remember and when we frick up that counter attack because using light regen we can get more frick up on next scene if we still play light regen while woodsman has like 5-8 strenght from that counter die 😂
In a nutshell, the Thumb is basically a crime family. Also, welcome to reusable ranged combat pages.
And EGO pages, they can turn the tide of battle in an instant, but you have to choose when very carefully, or not at all depending on the page.
Interesting observation, the wolf in this fight is much weaker compared to the one in Red Ridding's suppression, which makes sense considering that the wolf in her fight is from her nightmares. This keeps things more accurate as Red is canonically stronger than the Wolf back at Lob Corp since whenever they 1v1 each other, Red always wins without question.
really? i usually see Red lose when they face each other
@@Triforce4ever Was Red already severely damaged when that happens? That's like the only time she'd lose.
@@universeimagination7495 fr, she does way too many dps to lose
48:23 Well, there’s probably empty positions opening up quite often with how quickly they kill people. Someone dies quickly, so someone steps up to fill the role even if they’re inexperienced, which gets *them* killed quickly, which leads to someone even less experienced, and so on
Hokma, once again leading Ayinism
I wonder how many people realize that there are people in that coffee grinder in that CG.
Looking at it with that in mind, I still don’t see anything like that. Perhaps one could say that two of the coffee beans on the right side vaguely look like people with arms raised, but that seems like a stretch and all others just look like regular beans. Is there something else I’m missing?
EDIT: Never mind. I just looked at the full illustration and the people are in the bottom part which is covered up by the textbox.
46:56 Hey I went on a rewatch but this moment here is when Foreman apreciate the lore of the fan-written nugget I love. Oh, yeah, Lemon was part of Thumb and i went-- dhdgdgshsvsg god I love your memory man
Indeed he is, lel :D
I actually agree with Chessed that the nests are often just as bad. Take L. Corp, for example, most employees barely last a week, and in the main branch, when they do die, they just get rebooted back into the cycle with all their memories erased.
W. Corp seems pretty bad, and the Index can just kill you for virtually no reason because you didn't complete an impossibly vague task.
Even if you do get in a Nest, it isn't exactly stable, as it could fall at any time. The Nests may be more comfortable, but they are still grinders. They are often an illusion of safety at best.
The beans are not to blame for believing the lies, as they have no choice. Is it really necessary, though, to perform so much sacrifice?
This is just my take though.
Life in the nest is mind-numbingly boring (not as in relaxed, but monotonous like that described by Chesed, Netzach and that dude who was turned into gear by Eileen).
That is, until you get hired to handle the Wing's singularity's hands-on, then it's truly as bad as the backstreet. Well, I guess you still get paid so might be marginally better (tho the baseline expenses is also higher and work is all around the clock so you're not getting truly richer).
Comparisons aside tho, does it truly matter who's more miserable? Chesed's stand is for equality and I think humanitarian revolutions more often happens because both sides upper-middle and lower class agree to demolish a system that's bad (like french revolution and end of slavery). If it's just the lower class climbing up, it'd just reinforce the system to some degree.
So while Chesed's view is much arguable, at the end of the day, equality revolutions need people like him.
oh yeah, Boris reminds me a lot of li shuwen. a man so proficient in Bajiquan that its said that he hadn't needed to strike the same opponent twice. I can't wait so see more of him and his fighting style.
We finally get to see the Thumb, after so many goddamn realization! Honestly imho the Five Fingers are one of the coolest aspects of the PM universe, i find them more interesting than the wings and singularities actually. Also not sure how polished your italian is, but just fyi: Capo means Boss, Sottocapo means Underboss(but refers to somebody directly under the headboss, so he is above normal capos) and Capo dei Capi means The Boss of the Bosses.
But now, here are flavour texts:
Warm-hearted Woodsman:
Normal:
"The heart made of lead… was stiff and cold."
"I do not want to feel this empty and lonely feeling anymore…"
"I clutched my empty chest and grieved…"
"That woman… said machines are built to serve humans… so a heart is not needed…"
"I require an object… to fill this empty void…"
When gaining a Warm Heart:
"This is… how it feels to have a thumping heart…"
"The louder the heart echoes… the faster I move…"
"The kinder the owner of the heart was… the warmer my insides become…"
"The heart is a peculiar thing… I can laugh now…"
While having a Warm Heart:
"I cut more and more trees… But this forest… is still dense…"
"I crammed all I could find into this canister… yet it is… still cold…"
"I want to be warm… I need something stronger…"
"My chest will not stop pounding… This is the heart I wanted."
Big and Will be Bad Wolf:
Normal:
"There’s no need to be nice to me… I’m destined to be a big bad wolf…"
"Watch it… I’m trying really hard…"
"Don’t get any closer… Or you’ll get eaten too…"
"Everyone called me that, so it must be true… Old tales are never wrong…"
"A wolf needs no name, it just obeys the role it was born to fit in…"
After eating a librarian:
"I was fated to be bad… It doesn’t matter… I don’t have to care…"
"I… I just ate someone… I hurt others again…"
"The moon wasn’t becoming full… It was waning, becoming empty… Then soon enough… I’ll…"
After transforming:
"This place reeks of an awful stench… It calls for me…"
"Like the empty moon filled with darkness, my belly should be filled with meat…"
"Looking at you makes my mouth water…"
"If I can fill my stomach… I’ll be satisfied…"
Really appreciate the "you cant always sit down and watch a 3 hour video" and for your mental health, I think you are doimg great my man and absolutely loving yoir content♡
I think Chesed's point of view comes from L Corp, which Roland doesn't have experience of. So Chesed isn't wrong at all. Like there are maybe better Nests, there are also better backstreets than others. Roland seems to have a chip on his shoulder. Re: all Nest people he immediately assumes (even from Yesod story) they are all naive and is dismissive of their view. Sometimes he is right, but sometimes he is wrong.
Ayin simp unlocked!
Abnormality Pages!
*Warm Hearted Woodsman*
A Warm Heart is...fine. At emotion level 3 as long as you spend 3 or less Light you'll get the benefit, and Light restoration pages work with it. It's a good page, but only by default.
Cardiae is good, but it needs a specific high-damage build to really take advantage of its benefit. The longer the fight lasts and the more buffs you get, the better this page becomes.
Timber is _really_ good against bosses, more specifically Shimmering bosses. Since their pages always cost 0 Light, this page becomes a free +2 power for all your dice. Outside of that though, there are better pages to pick from, especially since most common enemies burn through Light faster than you do.
*Big and Will be Bad Wolf*
Instincts is amazing. Sustain aside, getting extra power on your multi-dice pages brings a lot of value on any floor, but especially on Gebura's. It's in the middle of the emotion zones, so it's an easy pick every time you hit emotion level 3 or 4.
Claws of Savagery is horrible 99% of the time. You really want some kind of high self-heal build that can quickly recover from 25% lost HP to take advantage of this card...but that's way too much effort for the "benefit" of not being able to take clashes and 2 Strength. The 1 Bleed per hit it offers makes it seem like an okay pick for a Bleed strat...it isn't.
Luckily, it's in the low-negatives. You'll almost never see this clogging up your abnormality page choices.
We now move from Gebura's worst level 1 abnormality page to arguably her best one. Like Instincts, The Role of the Wolf is in the middle of the emotion zones, so you'll want to have a Librarian specialising in Counter Dice to take advantage of it. +1-2 Power is strong, but +1-2 Power on a _Counter dice_ lets you win more clashes with your Counter and, subsequently, take more clashes with your Counter. It's great for that reason alone, and the Fragile on hit is a nice little cherry on top.
Claws of savagery has uses in making invincible Gebura builds which uses self bleed, healing, and default librarian keypage to easily just become invincible every turn, since you only need to take 8 damage to proc the effect.
It's very hard NOT to activate Cardiae for me. I trigger it every turn assuming nothing goes terribly wrong.
Claws of Savagery is Scene 3 Spring Genesis if you try even just a little bit (25% max HP isn't much if you don't have much max HP to begin with). It's objectively the single best abnormality page in the game because you are almost physically incapable of losing. Even if you don't try to cheese things, getting a free invincible turn isn't bad at all. Prey is WAY worse. I'd never take Prey over it outside of boss fights if given the choice. Why the hell does Prey even work the way it does when Request is also in the game and it's still a Tier 1 awakening abno page?
Happy new year. Keep your heart nice and warm. At least chesed's abnos have the decency to be cinematic as opposed to annoying
Chesed is also just a fantastic Floor in General to be honest.
Happy new year foreman!
I personally want to see what your thumb deck gonna be like because most people I seen have build them slightly different from each other with care and then there is me running 3 focus fire in a single deck like a psychopath.
Lol you weren't supposed to beat the woodman like this XD but hey it worked
I could confirmed. The thumb is the most normal among the fingers.
Me, a Catholic: floor of religion is good provided that open, honest and respectful debates and arguments are permitted.
Well unfortunately Hokma's religion is Ayinist 😂
Kurokumo and most of those other Syndicates working with Fingers are way bigger than you might think and have numbers in hundreds if not thousands of people. The Kurokumo crew that you received and that was bullied by Tanya is probably just a small part of it
BTW there is a button at the top left of the battle screen that just makes your nuggets target random enemies with random cards.
Ya know- In case the enemy is staggered at low hp and you'd win this turn anyway or - other reasons.
Wouldn't mind seeing you tackle on general receptions of Star of the City. They might not be story heavy, but still fun to watch.
Happy new years foreman! You uploaded just as I finished binging the rest which was funny
Reason is for nerds, overwhelm me with a twelve hour video
ah yes, the woodsman geiger counter lmao
Radioactive
Ah yes the one drip that foreman will rule
Happy New Year Foreman!
You managed to beat the first reception of the Star of the City!
Yay, my librarian got in!
Happy new year! I'm struggling to keep ahead of the series in my own playthrough, but I shall consider that a gift from you. The gift of motivation to actually play this game I love.
I'm all for respect and manners, but I think the Thumb goes a bit overboard with it.
A fun fact, the symbol of the Thumb is a shiled and a rifle but it also looks like a thumb print.
The boris drip will be foremans spot that marks thy grave for the future boss
Yes! I was waiting for this. Now I have something to do in class today
I'm a bit late lol
The Thumb is probably the combat page deck that suits your character the most Foreman! Considering they have both ranged and melee combat pages, and their drip closely resembles yours...
And honestly, there's a lot to talk about mechanic wise. The way Ammo works is that the nugget spawns Ammo pages whenever they do specific things, which can be discarded(they exhaust afterwards) using pages like Focus Fire to give Power and the Ammo's own effects to that page. Say you have 2 incendiary Ammos. Play Focus Fire and both get discarded, add +2 Power to it and stack both burn effects to Focus Fire's dice. This goes for all Ammo discarded this way.
And you want to know the funny part? Because the Ammo gets DISCARDED, it counts as a discard deck too! Meaning all abilities that proc from discarding activate when you use Ammo! Which is practically free, since you spawn them when using cards like Bayonet Combat as well as the Thumbs Ammo Supply ability. Good stuff.
Also, I'm sure you've realized by now, But RangedxRanged acts like a normal clash between melee pages.
Just, you know... From a mile away.
Hokma is very pissed
The Night Awls leader actually has backstory why he said that in the thumb meeting
Claws can be used with jikan pages and health hauler on a low enough HP ally to proc it every turn
Ah Hokma, how i hate your guts... for many reasons, but the spoiler free one is that i had absurd amounts of trouble with all his Abominations
So ego pages, very strong (mass attacks hint hint obv). You can use them again after it recharges from some emotion coins gained. I'm not sure how much is specifically needed but yeah.
Also, Shock Round is bugged. It gains only 1 power when discarding ammo even if 2 were discarded. It's still great, but keep that in mind.
happy new year foreman always happy to watch a vid
That 3 Speed Die at 58:50 is in fact a 3 and not a 5.
Happy New Years, Foreman!
Still reminding you to read Wonderlabs sooner rather than later even now :)
Yay! :3 New episode! Let's see how it goes in this one! 👀
Didn't know "hearbeats" sounded like that^^
That's the sound of a thousand cockroach's hearts beating in unison
Thumb are the BIG SHOOT GUN group
Happy New Years! Have a good one chief.
🎉🎉🎉
Happy New Years
Have a good one, Foreman!
marking my spot 29:00
