I recently lost my Dad to an overdose. And all i want to say is that it is amazing that he managed to make it through this and notice how big of an impact he will have on his sons life. There are so many people who never get that realization. Beautifully said❤️
Shawn Micheals is one of the most moving, and respectable people I've had the honor of hearing speak. His self esteem shows he hasn't fully accepted who he is, and it was beautiful to watch Mike put attention on it. Wonderful podcast!
Lol i used to point out the fact that my dad was fucked up and it clearly never affected him. He’s been dead for 13 years, I’m 29. I have the utmost respect for Shawn for deciding that his kids were more important than anything else in his life. HBK was my favorite wrestler growing up but now i love Michael Hickenbottom, and if you watch his shoot interviews, it’s a very different guy. Much love
Bro Shawn was my hero ever since I started watching at 5yo in 2005, this was huge to find out. Made me so emotional, he's still my favourite of all time. Never knew what really made him quit that lifestyle and always wondered how he changed just like that. People always trash HBK for his 90's self but fail to acknowledge that HE turned his life around, and has been the best version of himself since 2002.
Shawn has been my hero for SO long. Right from the time I saw Him wrestle at SS 2002 to know his past, watching his docs and learning how he changed, how he accepted faith in life to putting on clinics each time he stepped in - a champion in & out the ring. #TheTrueImmortal
I absolutely hated Shawn, Michaels, mostly because of his character outside of the ring but when he finally sobered up and I’m glad he did for his family, and that’s when he finally started to gain more respect for me.
It feels so good to see Shawn acknowledge the demons that used to be present in not only himself but the wrestling business at the time. I got into the wrestling business in 2003-2004 and reading some of the autobiographies of wrestlers that were being published at the time convinced me that WWE was not the place for me. The hazing, drug use and frat boy mentality that infested wrestling at the time was terrifying to me, so I stayed away. I had a great career on the independents for over 15 years and just hung up the boots a few years ago. Never once did I sent footage to WWE in that time, despite them reaching out once or twice. No regrets. I do wish I would have come along a few years later though, because the culture of pro wrestling has made incredible progress since then.
It’s not just for drug attics. It’s for other issues as well keep that in mind. This video had me thinking.. I’m 35 years old and I’m still a screw up. Hormones messes us up even if we’re selfish. I need to grow up.. Life is short.
I wish my dad had the courage to quit smoking. He started when he was 13 or 14 years old & he's pretty much during me & my sister's entire existence. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer & bone cancer in June of 2022 & he passed away in early August of last year just at the young age of 53 years old.

So much respect for HBK. Very happy he got clean and found his faith and became a much better person.
